Lockdown has made everyone skilled enough to line-up for Master Chef competition. While we all have been preparing exquisite cuisine using exotic vegetables in some cases, it is important to take note the massive impact this lockdown has on the farmers of our country. A few days ago, I stumbled upon @sahyadrifarms, an initiative that provides vegetables, fruits, and flowers from the farm to your house. No middle man! Initially, I was a little skeptical since they only have combo baskets available. After some research, I realized that this was to help the farmers make profit from all they produce. 👨‍🌾👩‍🌾 Think about it, when you desire to cook any dish, you tend to purchase the exotic vegetables, ignoring the farm produce. This, in turn, encourages import. Ironically, we then protest and feel empathy for farmers committing suicide. Did you ever think that your little actions have such a huge impact? There is a difference between want and need. Realize. The impact of my actions hit me hard. Without thinking about the quality, I ordered a basket of vegetables and a basket of fruits. Within 3 days, as promised, I received my order. Do I recommend them? Without a doubt!💯 Fresh from the farmers, well packed, and more than expected quantity. In fact, they also surprised us with a bottle of mango juice. Yum!❤️ I chose #local and now I want to go #vocalforlocal If this post gets them even one more new customer, I would consider it a success. ✨ N.B.: This is not a collab. On my way to Koln Bonn airport in the winter of 2015, I saw a marvellous hotel. I knew I had a flight to board but, in a heartbeat, I wished - If only I could stay here for a day. 🙃 Little did I know that the universe has its own way of fulfilling wishes. #WorldHeritageDay ✨ The essence of travel has travelled from exploring places to clicking Instaworthy pictures to overtourism even at heritage sites.  On one hand, it makes me happy to see that travel is no longer a privilege to the majority but on the other hand, it hurts me to see people not valuing this privilege.  From scribbling names on the excavated sites to leaving footprints, in literal sense, on the monuments, the disrespect tourists show towards the heritage sites is beyond measure. This World Heritage Day, let’s pledge to be a little more responsible, a little more careful, and a little better citizen of India by preserving and protecting the heritage we take pride in calling ours.   Here is a picture of one of the most interesting world heritage sites of India - Jantar Mantar, Jaipur. The site is an astronomical observatory built in the 18th century, which comprises a set of about 20 fixed instruments. These help you observe the astronomical positions with the naked eye.
