On March

anything can happen in March. red-winged blackbirds fly home. it's the kingdom of forsythia. It melts february and takes no notice of april. every afternoon asperitas like a blanket rolls across the sky. Light rises from the pavement. It's a good time for walks with a nice jacket. It's a good time to fall in love. The air is cool and dry. It's the month of the Worm Moon. You can cook with the window open again. Sometimes Jesus comes back. the night sky reminds me of sailors. The grass is like hay and the last of the snowdrops bloom. It feels like the end after the end. A month for what's left. I hope I live for a long time but when I die I'd like it to be in March.
