The stories in Cypher: Issue 5 have been published during 2020 United Nation’s 16-Day Campaign for Domestic Abuse. The UN System’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence activities spans from November 25th to December 10th. I was commissioned to depict the stories of several Moldovan women affected by domestic abuse and the involvement of nonprofits and counseling work that helped rehabilitate them.
I was adopted from Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Eastern Europe. While I am relatively removed from Moldovan culture, my ethnicity is something I am very proud of and it was exciting to be asked to create work that is close to my heart in some way. I will be sharing more snippets from this comic over the course of the rest of the campaign.

AFK#13 may be the GREATEST EVER issue of ACTION FIGURE KINGDOM (and if you’ve been reading the story, you’ll see what I did there). The new issue delivers the action-packed conclusion to the “Try-Out Issues” storyline — which began back in AFK#11 — and features nearly cover-to-cover action, with the largest cast of characters ever to appear in a single issue of AFK! Hopefully, the new issue also delivers some good humor along the way (not the ice cream, silly!). All this plus, AFK fans will finally find out how the try-outs end. — After all… this whole story started with ACROBOT and SPARKINATOR looking to recruit a new member to the team (or more technically — as ACROBOT would point-out — the duo).
FIRSTS!
ACTION FIGURE KINGDOM #13 delivers several “firsts.” — It’s the first issue of AFK to feature a choice of two covers — a decision made in part because it’s also the first issue with covers colored by the talented, Lea Jean Badelles (whose amazing coloring work is elevating ACTION FIGURE KINGDOM to new levels). Another “first” may not be so apparent until you finish the issue, so we’ll let you try to figure that one out for yourself.

We will be publishing a new comic series by John Grund. It’s called West. It’s a mind expanding melding of science fiction and fantasy.
Here’s a description: Mo and Sal live and work on a farm selling their harvest at city farmers' markets, practicing magic, and smoking herbs with their cat, Jynx. As society becomes over-reliant on technology, magic is quickly dying out, and industry pushes smaller farms out of the picture. Sal and Mo struggle to keep the land they've worked so hard to cultivate. To make ends meet, they concoct a heist on the most prominent tech corporation in the West, Solomon Corps… Intrigued? Preorders will get a signed print!
John Grund is a comic artist and illustrator from New Jersey. If he’s not drawing, he can be found somewhere in nature. John lives in Brooklyn, NY.

The show hosts collectors, artists, authors and vendors of rare pulp magazines, vintage paperbacks, golden age comic books, movie memorabilia, and related paper collectibles.
The show emphasizes collectibles from 1900 to 1970, the years encompassing a significant portion of the "pulp era." Among many pulp collectors, the 1920s through the 1950s are often cited as the medium's heyday. However, you will find collectibles from before and after that time period.
