HAPPENING NOW: A key House committee is voting on net neutrality

This is super important. A key House committee is voting on the Save the Internet Act RIGHT NOW and we need Congress to know that the whole Internet is watching. Watch the livestream here:

Unfortunately, telecom lobbyists have been working around the clock to try to derail the bill. Their main strategy right now is to punch it full of holes with bad amendments. So be sure to tell your rep to vote for a clean bill and oppose amendments that weaken it.

Taking action takes just a minute or two and it makes a huge difference.

The vote is imminent and we can’t afford to lose this one! If we pass the bill through the committee it will likely get a vote on the House floor next week. But if the bill is gutted through hostile amendments, then we’re back to square one.

If this gets through, it will allow many, many companies to abuse and misuse this article to take down as many memes, fan works, and even other independent creators on sites like YouTube, Facebook, and other websites INCLUDING Tumblr. 

THE FAIR USE LAW AND SAFEHARBOR LAW WILL NO LONGER APPLY IN THE U.S OR IN OTHER COUNTRIES. 

IT HAS ALREADY PASSED IN SEVERAL OTHER COUNTRIES. 

WE CANNOT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE AWAY WHAT WE BUILT FOR THE INTERNET SO FAR. 

So here is what you need to do to drag this article down. 

1. Spread the word 

I can’t stress this enough. The more attention this gets the more people we can get to take this down. 

2. Make your own content 

Make your own content on the matter and make sure it is clear to others that Article 13 is bad for every internet user involved. 

3. If you live anywhere in Europe, contact your MEPs 

Ask them if they approve of the article and why. If they do approve of it, try to convince them in a clear, reasonable, and most sensible way possible that this law is BAD. 

The article itself is way to vague about what it’s conveying to its people. 

Saying that as long as the use of said internet memes or content is good as long as it’s in “good faith.” 

We cannot let some shoddy government tell us what we can and cannot post. 

FREE SPEECH IS A HUMAN RIGHT. NOT A PRIVILEGE.

cringe culture mostly targets young artists. it also targets people of all ages as well, and oftenly autistic people. it’s so wonderful i’ve seen a lot of defending of kids art from cringe culture hell, but also defend adults too

people that like harmless weird stuff and like making aus of their fixations shouldn’t be bullied and humiliated. for a lot of people, the internet is the only place we can talk about our strange uniqueness

hoitytoity.wanderlust on Instagram (w/ 0 activity) is NOT me, it’s a namesnipe taken by an anonymous hater who I’m trying to figure out who did it. For now, I juts have a wild guess that it was probably done by someone who used to be friends with me, but still, that’s unconfirmed.

I have already reported the account for impersonation, but I doubt that Instagram will take any action. Please, do me a favor and report that impersonated namesnipe.

If you think you know who could have done the snipe, please let me know. I’m very upset right now and I want it to be situated fast.

I only changed my username for Halloween until I discovered it got sniped when I looked up my *casual* username. Just remember, this is why you shouldn’t change your username for the holidays… or THIS will happen, unless you have created an alternate/backup account that holds your username, which is something that I should’ve done.

For now, my username is hoitytoity_wanderlust (with an underscore, not a dot) until I win my battle.
