Stupid Is as Stupid Does (or Nori and Ai are dumbasses: Part 1)

@peachfiles Here you go! This fic is Ai getting mad at Nori for being a dumbass. Part 2 will have Nori exasperated because Ai is a dumbass and bad at romance.

“Nori! Nori where the hell are you?!” Ai stormed into the large study cloak billowing behind him as Nori peered up from the tome he was reading. The violet haired man gently rested the book upon his desk looking at his older brother somewhat bored. He knew how Ai tended to get when he was upset having grown up with him and he also knew it was best to allow Ai to rant and rave about whatever it was that got him this angry.

“I’ve been gone two weeks,” Ai hissed out slowly stomping his way over to Nori, the amount of magic rolling off him almost suffocating. “Two weeks and the tower is nearly destroyed.” He continued to seethe as he waved his right hand motioning toward the window. Outside the main spire that their home was centered on was partly demolished. A large overgrown tree with writhing roots and blue leaves had decimated the upper levels along with a majority of the roof.

“Ah, so that’s what you’re mad about.” Nori smiled, his cyan eyes meeting his brother’s crimson in amusement.

Ai approached Nori gritting his teeth before firmly placing his hands on his brother’s desk. “And you’re not?”

“No, not really,” Nori chuckled a bit leaning back before continuing, “It’s not like Fumiko got hurt while preforming the spe-“

As soon as he mentioned her name Ai grabbed at Nori’s throat baring his fangs. “You,” His words came out short and Nori could tell Ai was doing his best to restrain himself, “let Fumiko do that?”

Placing his hands up Nori shot him a guilty look, not so much for the destruction of the tower, but rather that he was going to lie to his brother yet again. “I didn’t let her do it. She leeched off Su while he was resting and well…” His voice trailed off as he glanced outside the window and back to his brother. He felt bad blaming the accident all on her, but he knew Ai wouldn’t dare hurt her or give her too harsh a punishment. If he knew the truth, it’d be bad for both her and himself. A loud snap drew his attention back out the window. The roots of the tree continued to undulate and crack the walls they had pierced. It was a surprise the whole thing didn’t collapse as it was barely holding up. Truth be told he had allowed Fumiko to leech off the resting blond despite knowing better. He enjoyed helping her cultivate her parasitic skills and encouraged her greatly to practice in anyway possible so long as Ai wasn’t around to scold them both. Nori knew he should have known better than to allow her to practice a creation spell, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him. And Fumiko’s lack of skill combined with Su’s unprecedented amount of magic was a deadly combination. “Look, I’ll fix it myself. It shouldn’t be too hard.” He smiled trying to placate Ai. The elder’s grip slackened, and he watched his brother fall back into his chair with a soft thwump.

“I told you to be more careful with her! Allowing her to practice and leech magic under your supervision is one thing, but forgetting your responsibility to watch after her and leech off Su is just negligent!” Ai spat as Nori nodded in return. He didn’t know what pissed him off more the way Nori would just agree with him in an insincere manner to calm him down or the fact that he had been stupid enough to allow his younger brother to watch after the girl. Stepping back Ai’s cloak wrapped around him as he spun to go find Fumiko.
