Releasing his grip on the canine, he chuckled. His eyes lingering on her dimples and smile just a second too long. He and his dog had the same reaction to the moniker, though Max was the one receiving the affection. Expectedly so though. Max was a love bug. Beaming, Eric spoke. âAw youâd have our stamp of approval if you just had a couple streamers out.â It was the truth, Eric genuinely loved her store. âOh you know, taking our daily walk around town. Itâs gorgeous out and I couldnât just pass without stopping by.â Brown eyes sparkling, he met her gaze. âSo whatâre you up to today?â He wondered, passing his hands awkwardly through his hair.

It was a gorgeous autumn day and Max was itching for a walk, so as Eric made his way to his way around town they were of course going to stop by his favorite red headâs shop. She was turned around when Max started jumping excitedly. She spoke, and Eric nodded, holding the goofy sheepdog back âLooks great, red.â he beamed. âIâm really digging all the fall colors.âÂ

Eric cackled, nodding righteously. âGod, how right you are about that. Oh man, Sil itâs amazing. â Grim was older than dirt, he wasnât even sure how old he was. âHeâs looked ninety since I can remember.â He breathed out, barely able to compose himself. Sil got him, probably more than most people ever would. They were a free spirit like he was. It was really nice to Eric that someone in his life understood how he viewed things. Her next words stopped the young manâs laughter, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his normally relaxed features. âWell thatâs a loaded question.â Dipping underwater he pondered. Coming out of the water a moment or two later, he looked them in their eyes. âSave the ocean and its children, and maybe find a more efficient way for cleanup.â

âHah. That would be nice. Though, there wouldnât be electricity and thatâs just sad.â he told them, propping himself on the side of the pool. âI couldnât stay away for too long. Work would miss me. I tried getting Grim out there but he said he doesnât take vacations. â He sighed, looking at the house as the familyâs butler/ honorary grandpa made the pair what looked like lemonade. âHeâs such a stick in the mud.â
âSounds like an untouched treasure island. Grim shouldnât care, I think heâs been alive since before electric lights were invented,â Sil wiggled their eyebrows with intrigue. An island adventure sounded great right about now, though Sil was never the type to avoid their work or school. Sometimes though, they did think it mightâve been better for Eric to live in a world with fewer pressures. Why shouldnât he leave a job at his fatherâs company, âIf you could do anything in the world with your time, what would it be?â

âYou should run away, if thatâs what you want,â Sil replied, half-joking, half-serious, âOf course, then weâd all miss you. But if youâre just on an island, we could always visit you! And then you wouldnât half to be alone,â Silvie gave a shrug. Though it was true Eric could be a little bit of a lonesome dreamer, their shared interests could always bring him back around, âNext time the weather gets nice, weâll have to go out to see your little place.â

Silvie laughed as Max flew water all over the place, skipping around the familyâs hedge and hopping the small fence that divided front yard and back. They always came prepared to swim, only needing to shed a cover up before popping their feet in the shallow end of the pool, âFinally off the boat? I canât believe they keep making you leave,â Sil joked, though it had an underlying truth since Ericâs parents never really got their whole water fascination.
Sticking his tongue out at Silvie, he grumbled. âHey. Sometimes Iâm a landlubber. I just like the boat more.â swimming over to them, he sighed, flopping backwards. âYou know, you could always come on the boat with me Sil. I found a little island with a bunch of tide pools that are so pretty.â he beamed, âI think mom and dad just worry Iâm alone too much. Well, that and Iâm gonna run away one day.âÂ

Eric was cute. Yâknow, if Arista wasnât half sure he and Ariel would probably end up married with five children â barf â she might make more of a move on him. Does that keep her from flirting anyway? Of course not. âOh, heâs a gentleman,â she teases, voice barely coming out above a whisper as she steps ahead of him. The mention of her rank brought a pout to her lips. âSecond?â She raised her hand with double digits, pretending to be wounded at getting second place. She drops the act quickly, hiding a grin over a cheeky shrug. âIf youâre paying, Iâll take any place. Almond milk latte, please.â
Chuckling nervously, Eric dipped his head. âAh, Arista donât be like that. Love ya both evenly.â a sweet smile twisted onto his face. âAs you wish mâlady.â Ordering their drinks, he passed her her latte. âYou donât hafta talk, or say yes, but you wanna escort to your gig?â he smiled, sipping his coffee. Arista was always kind to him and even though he had work to get back to, he loved getting a small break.Â

Eric was mildly confused why someone was staring at pictures of goats. Intrigued, he tried to make no noise as he walked towards her to inspect it. âWhat the fuck is up with goats?â he whispered, somewhat suspecting, and then she spoke. âUh, no not really. Theyâve got the eyes of something sinister...itâs like theyâre trying to plot world domination..â eyes narrowing he then broke. âBut theyâre cute as hell.â he laughed. âSeriously though, whatâs up with the goat pictures? Itâs kind of weird.â Â
âďž*Âˇďž CROSSING her arms over her chest, she looked out at all of the pictures sheâd taken over her entire summer. With school starting up again, she knew she needed to get a head start on her assignments. Because her next few classes involved a lot more animal photography, she had to practice. There were quite a few animals that she thoroughly enjoyed capturing, but after visiting her parents for a few days, the one animal she found herself struggling with were goats. They had a mind of their own. Picking up the pictures, she tilted her head to the side, looking at the goat flailing around in the picture, making it blurry. Fawn turned to face the person walking up to her. âOkay, but can you truly trust goats? They look like theyâll take over the world and bounce on you in circles!âÂ

Eric was grabbing coffee on his regular coffee run for him and his dad when he felt a tap on his shoulders. He almost grumbled, people were always trying to talk to him. But his hardened features softened when he noticed Arista, smiling as he noticed she was gesturing towards her throat. âHang on.â the taller man bent down to hear her over the bustle of the crowded coffee shop. âOh, yeah no problem.â he chuckled, gesturing for her to get in front of him. âYou know this means Iâm paying for your coffee now too, right? Buy one get one on favors today for my second favorite Triton sister. Whatâs your poison?âÂ
@sunnysidestarters
Just her luck, the coffee shop is crowded. Shit. She knew she shouldâve timed this better, but she had left the house too late after spending too much time playing with makeup, as per usual. When she walks in, hoping to grab her dose caffeine for the day before her night gig, the place is buzzing, a long line to the cashier and conversation filling the room from every corner. The scenario wouldnât be a problem if it werenât for her vocal rest. She needs her vocal chords to get a break before her performance, and speaking up in a crowded room is the opposite of that.
She taps the person in front of her on the shoulder, offers a polite smile before gesturing towards her own throat and half-mouthing, half-whispering. âDo you mind ordering for me?â

Eric had gotten a call from Vidia while he and Max were sunbathing and swimming. Quickly getting dressed and making his way back into town towards the festival, he stopped to grab some coffee and a croissant. Vidia was happier when fed. Running up to her booth, he stopped, putting the tributes down. âI know. I know. But I brought tokens of my apologies.â He chuckled, gesturing to the coffee and snack. âSo what did you need done, Vid?â Looking at the far away booth, he nodded in realization. âDo you have tools or do I need to grab em out of my truck?â the brunette asked, leaning against his car and taking a sip from his own coffee.Â
Vidia had taken over the first round of setting up the booth for the scouts, and she hated it she loved her girls so much especially the little ones but her manicure wasnât worth this little labour. Luckily, she had a secret weapon, an old friend everyone ( in her opinion ) should have. Eric Daniels, she called him about half an hour earlier, and from then on she had been lounging against her own car, waiting for his. Adjusting the sunglasses laying on the tip of her nose, she spotted his car and waved her hand out. âYou are so late Daniels!!!â

Eric was swimming around the pool with Max when he heard a familiar voice. Apparently Max heard them as well, running up and barking. âHe hey Sil!â he hollered, pulling himself up from the water. âYou coming over or you just gonna stand there and look nice or come on in?â he teased, laughing as he fell back into the pool, making a decent splash. Looking up at the kid he used to babysit, he splashed at them. âItâs way too hot to be standing by that hedge.â he laughed as Max shook himself, water flying everywhere.
Silvie skipped around to the Danielsâ backyard, popping their head over the hedge that separated their familiesâ pools respectively. Though it could be seen as a little nosy, Sil had been doing this ever since they got tall enough to see over their yards and wave to their babysitter. Of course, Eric hadnât had to babysit Silvie for a good 8-9 years, but old habits die hard when youâve known someone your whole life. Sil just checked in every once in a while when they saw Ericâs car in his parentâs driveway, anxious to see another swimming buddy.
âEric, dear! Over here!â Sil waved their arms over the hedge to get his attention.

Curled up in a beach chair of her own (and a good ten feet away from Ericâs), Arielâs attention was pulled from the book in her hands to the rather pretty fork that he was waving around in the air. âPretty. Sounds like you thought of me, which means you like me to some extent.â She felt awful being short with him, but she was still feeling the sting from their latest break up. Itâd been a petty argument âbut neither of them were obliged to admit it. Instead, they continued the dance. âIâm fine. âExcept, Iâm feeling a little faint and this jerk wonât share is water with me.â
âAnd you didnât bring your own water? Wow he does sound like a jerk. Thatâs got to suck Iâm sorry.â a light smirk tickled the sides of his face as he reached down into the cooler. Tossing a water bottle at her and hearing a thud, Eric quietly muttered, âSorry.â Without breaking contact with the sea he threw a question at her. âWhatâre you doing here anyways?â It wasnât laced with any animosity, he was just curious. Heâd gotten to the beach alone, and no one was by him. Not that he didnât enjoy her company - even when they were tiffing. He stood up, not willing to throw a sharp object at her. âHere.â he shuffled back to his seat mere feet apart and pulled his guitar onto his lap. âSince youâre here, wanna hear anything?âÂ

Eric and Ariel had an interesting relationship. They met when he got home from school, and had been hot and cold since forever. Currently they were sitting on the hill that they would die on. Eric had said something stupid and then something happened and they were breaking up again. Kicking at the sand as he strummed on his guitar, he saw something shiny splashing up from the sea. Placing his guitar against the beach chair, he reached for it just as he caught glimpse of a flash of copper. Pulling a small ornate fork from the sand, he called out, âHey Red!â Waving the fork in the air, â Iâm not doing this because I like you but I canât not give you it.â He huffed, holding it out as he reached for his coconut water. âIâm not giving you some so donât ask.â He pouted. He admittedly missed her, but you canât just say that. He was right and she was wrong about whatever they were fighting about. âAre you okay?â He asked, side eyeing her while sipping from his tumbler.

Eric was tidying up from his boat ride out to Sunnysideâs sandbar when he noticed Philip coming down the dock. Chuckling as he flung himself around a sail, he waved. âPhilip! Hey hey man. Nah, its clean up day. So you woulda found me anyways.â Wiping his hands off on a towel he sat down and opened his cooler. âYou want a sandwich? I made a couple. So whatâs up?â He wondered, stuffing a sandwich in his face.
After this long, Phillip knew where to find his closest friendâs at any given time. Eric was no exception to that. He knew that if it wasnât business hours, he was either at Atlantis Beach or one his boat. Phillip, knowing exactly which dock he kept it in, decided to search for him first at the latter. Smirking when he saw Eric on the boat, luckily still tethered to the dock, he reached out and jumped on. âIâm lucky I caught you before you set sail.âÂ

⼠â Eric Daniels ⢠Bio â â¤
From the moment he was born, Ericâs entire life was mapped out. If it were still tradition his parents would probably have arranged a marriage for him too. If Eric had any say in any of it, he would have requested some sort of input. But unfortunately he was a baby and you canât pick what family youâre born into. So unless he wanted to change his identity and move to another town ( which would never happen ) Eric decided to buckle down and follow in the generations of family footsteps. It wasnât hard to get good grades, that was just doing the work and following instructions. What Eric didnât expect was to find his passion along the way. And for that passion to not be what his father told him it should be. Despite the promise of a secure future and his parentâs approval, there was something that pulled him somewhere else.Â
A summer job begged for at the marina ( which may have been because of a girl out at the beach ) turned into a love affair with an old dingy named Tritonâs Tale and marine life. It became an addiction that oddly bonded him with dear old dad. They spent hours on his fatherâs boat, and for once Eric could teach his father something. A rich man with a business to run never had time to learn his own property, and even though it didnât take it was still fun. Eric didnât know if he wanted to follow in every Daniels manâs footsteps. Though, life rarely gives you what you want. Even if youâre the heir to an extremely successful family. Begging for the chance to go to a school for what he loved ( marine biology ) turned into a fight heâd never win.Â
After high school, Eric went off to school at Cornell to major in International Business and minored in Law and surprise: excelled. His father didnât even let him choose his major, which was a bummer but how can you ask someone whoâs given you everything to let you sail the world with a dream? You canât, and so thatâs not what Eric did. He came back home after his obligatory four years and was lovingly thrust into Daniels and Son. His father even bought him a boat for his graduation, named her Royal Wander. He volunteers down at the marine wildlife center out at Atlantis Beach every weekend, and when heâs not at work or at home you can find him on his boat.
