the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

Some student work that really excites me :) earthenware basket sculpture made to look like welded rebar… The artist said she chose to painstakingly recreate rebar out of clay (using moldmaking) because she is an inexperienced metal worker but still wanted the look. She even developed a special glaze to perfectly mimic rust! Even if you inspect the piece extremely close you cannot tell that it isn’t actually just rusted steel!! When people asked her why she chose to make this she said she’s just inspired by things on the street and still doesn’t understand her subconscious, but really wanted to make it. Incredible and so genius!! Love love love this work with all my heart

She frowned. "Fuck. This sounds like a joke, but I made a Vaporeon. It was just a fully formed, perfect Vaporeon in a parking lot of a Wal-Mart. And I was so happy and I opened the door to make it jump in so I could take it home with me.

"But there was something - wrong with it. I'd made it perfectly, but I forgot to make it alive. It just sat and stared and I begged it to jump in the truck with me before my dad drove off, and it sat and stared, and we drove off and I was so sad and confused and - disappointed."

She wiggled the tab of the can. "It's still there," she said quietly. "I drive past that parking lot sometimes, and that same Vaporeon is still sitting in that spot. I've seen that parking lot get full to the tits in the middle of the holidays, I have never, not even once, seen someone park in the spot it's sitting in."

A car drove by. After a moment the frogs in the ditch started to chirp again.

She tipped her head back and downed the rest of the beer. "Anyways, that's what I think god's deal is," she said.

if you didn't know, discord has a serious internationalization/accessibility problem where diacritic count is capped PER MESSAGE. this means if you have a decently long text in hindi for example it starts deleting VOWELS IN RANDOM LOCATIONS. yep. RANDOM LOCATIONS. it used to be just at the end but now they're removed from random locations. this has been an issue for years and i brought it up. it's such a fucking stupid problem that they introduced to themselves for some reason. they havent fixed it. i cant have funny copy pastas in hindi. fuck discord
