of salt in the soul
Her cheekbones are slanted like sunbathers
on the Dead Sea; I’m careful not to dive
in, because demons in the depths trace her
thoughts with salt and laughingly try to climb
ashore over the white rocks of her eyes.
"Something’s wrong with me" she yells to the dial
on the radio. But all she prescribes
are white powders, men, Jager, and hostile
smiles framed by center fingers that slice
the air like exclamation points. I can’t
save her from her own rash roll of the dice,
so I’ll just sift a hand through salty sand—
"Forgive yourself" I say, but what can sway
a drifting soul hell-bent on self-decay?

"You do?"
Both of their histories are spotty. Tragic and filled with some things that would be better off forgotten, the past remains the past. But there comes a point where you have to grow from it, rather than fear it. Wear it as a sign of survival moreso than shackles to the heavy memories. The point has come when when he has to acknowledge those everpresent feelings. It's only right.
He allowed a small, uncertain smile at her words. Holding her close, the Sea sighed and shook his head, glad she couldn't see his thoughts. There had been so much going on- but now here was their attempt to simplify it.
"You know you deserve so much better, Lo. But I promise, I'll try."
Although Laura was still clueless to where the male had been and what had happened, she did hope on some level it wasn’t anything to do with her but she wasn’t going to assume things, she’d ask about it when the time was right, she wasn’t going to push. Luke had his reasons and she understood that. If anything, Laura should understand that more than anyone, especially with her history.
Oh.. she wasn’t expecting that, at all. She knew there were definite feelings there, feelings that seemed to get stronger every time she even saw the male but now that it had been mentioned, it kind of seemed to back sense. Still standing there with the look of shock now taking over, Laura found breathing harder, her chest seeming to constrict as she watched him carefully, making sure he was being truthful and he really was.
The look in his eyes and the confirmation of the love actually managed a small smile from Laura, nodding her own head as she sighed softly. “..—I love you too, Luke.”

Or just can't because you've run out of adjectives for the word boring.
Just remember; only boring people get bored. Yet, you don't seem to mind at all.
Well plenty, but I don’t feel the need to explain them with you.

What would you even have to add?
Lazy, lethargic, idle, remiss; should I go on?

Touche. And how do you even go about it?
Isn’t it? I think it’s the best one to have.

The entity tries to hold back a scoff, trying to be seminice even to this stranger. Instead, she holds her drink up and takes a sip with a raise of her brows.
"You don't even get props for trying."

The entity feels both violated and increasingly confused. This isn't normal, even for humankind. She swats away the offending hand and gives the greyface a bewildered look.
Why.
