As an exercise I re-imagined one of my favorite album's cover, studying every song, its meaning and lyrics, and thinking about how I would've done it if I was commissioned to do this artwork. I tried to get the very essence of the album, with the stained glass representing the religious references and statements of it, and how every song shows us a main character that tells his/her story through the song. The assignment was to create my "Magnum Opus". After talking about it with some friends and family, I realized that the only thing that could become a real and on-purpose "work of a lifetime" was exactly that: to last a lifetime. So I decided to paint something that represented where I want to be and where I'm heading (my best life) and that the only way I'd get there would be by drawing every day and enjoying the process.
