Why do you think SJM is backseating feyre so much in CC3 like she’s the main character of ACOTAR and she’s not even in the crossover? I cant keep making excuses for her😭😭😭😭
i'm going to be completely honest.
i've never read cc, and i tapped out of acotar after silver flames. sjm will not get another penny from me as long as i live.
why not, you ask? because she's a bigot. actually, she's worse than a bigot. she's a bigot who can't fucking write.
she's racist and homophobic in the ways she writes her marginalized characters and i wish i could take back all of the money i spent on her dogshit catalogue.
and honestly, i'm so sick of the sudden spike in people saying that now they can't support her. now? this is where you draw the line?
so let me get this straight: you can support the racist portrayal of poc, the killing of a black woman to further a white woman's storyline, the use of a real life murder to promote a book, and the lame attempt at queer rep followed by benching said queer rep almost entirely from her story. but as soon as feyre gets sidelined you can't defend her anymore? that's your line. you not getting to see your fav in a book that's not even hers is when you say "oh absolutely not i can't defend this"?
i understand people are frustrated. i like feyre. i get wanting to see her in a crossover with a series she's an mc in. but this is fucking ridiculous. people are showing their privilege and ignorance and it's extremely disappointing.

i'm so sick of this fandom acting like rhys hates women when he pulls rank on nesta.
guess what: rhysand is high lord. it's literally his job to pull rank to protect his people

⚠️⚠️CC3 + BONUS CHAPTER SPOILERS IN THIS POST⚠️⚠️
it's absolutely insane to me that people are acting like nesta is the victim in this chapter.
this woman gave away an item that could result in the destruction of her universe to a stranger. and her only defence was to tell rhysand yet again that she isn't a member of his court despite being a permanent resident who has no job and contributes little to nothing.
i'm sorry but remind me why cassian would defend her? she put them all at risk and will yet again face no consequences for her actions because sjm is allergic to displaying any meaningful growth in nesta.

i will argue that lucien's feelings were justified in acotar till i'm blue in the face.
it does not justify his actions, but he has every right to be angry with feyre for killing andras. it literally does not matter that she didn't know, because he is still being forced to make nice with the woman who killed his friend.

i think my point was misconstrued a bit here.
i'm not saying he's not a gentleman. like you said, lucien was raised as nobility. of course he's got gentlemanly qualities.
that being said, what i see happening often is people ignoring his other character traits in favour of making him into a perfect bridgerton-esque gentleman.
lucien is a noble, but he's also a wild fae. he strays enough from the mould of pure gentleman that his great love was jesminda, a woman who is described in a rather uncourtly way (for lack of a better word). they fit together perfectly because he wasn't just a gentleman.
i truly think that if he ended up forced to be nothing but a gentleman for his partner, no matter who said partner may be, he would end up unhappy.
people call him a gentleman, then proceed to erase any character traits that don't fit that description and in doing such strip him of any potential nuance.
"lucien was kind and welcoming to feyre!"
excuse? the man literally considered leaving her to die when she was attacked in acotar.
once again begging lucien stans to stop gentleman washing him he's a bastard and that's what's awesome about him.

i constantly see posts from antis that i can't even formulate replies for because they have no substance.
they write entire essays where they just talk in circles and use social justice buzzwords that give the entire post the vibe of a high school student trying to meet the word count. and because they're often in their own little echo chamber (stay there please) they're hyped up as these massive intellectuals. and then people add even more paragraphs filled with buzzwords and nothing until it's a novel's length of buzzwords and nothing.
i don't even read the entire posts anymore, i just clock the nonsense and move on.

i cannot believe–
you know what, i actually can believe it needs to be said.
sustained verbal abuse and neglect is not the same as strangers fighting each other as children or brothers sparring in a war camp.

i think fixating on feyre not thinking about daily chores in a space they spent less than twenty four hours in on page is completely insane. there are things that don't need to be included because they don't contribute to a story. this is one of those things. when you're writing a book, what you include matters. having feyre mentally rattle off every chore and who does it would only bog down the flow of the book and so has no place in it.

i agree that sjm is an ass writer and i will always support slander, but i'm so sick of people putting the fault on her in the whole debate about wether nesta and elain contributed in the cabin.
it's not because sjm undervalues "traditionally female domestic labour" that we're told they don't. it's because these are two women who grew up rich with servants not contributing to a household. wether they did it on purpose or because they genuinely didn't know how, we get zero indication that nesta and elain contribute.
i genuinely hesitate to even weigh in on this because there's nothing to debate. whoever is arguing they contributed have no actual textual evidence. just snippets they pull that they claim mean nesta and elain were contributing and we just didn't see it.

since some of you seem to have lost the plot: me saying lucien is (gasp) allowed to feel negative feelings about elriel is not misogynistic.
i'm so tired of this fandom slapping the word misogyny on any support or validation of men/criticism of women.
it's made even worse by the fact that the men who do get validation are widely abusers and misogynists themselves.

to me the fact that feyre had to explain rationing to her family speaks volumes in the debate about who was doing what in that two roomed nightmare they called a house back in acotar.

i will always foster debate on my blog. it's good intellectual exercise and nobody is 100% correct all the time.
however, if you're just going to go full brick wall in my comments and not engage in an actual conversation, just make your own post. i have no interest in you pulling up and trying to have your little gotcha! moment. i don't want you here, and it's irritating to deal with you.
