i’m never getting over the fact that romance as a genre, as the HIGHEST selling genre, exists largely because straight women fantasise about being loved and treated kindly by men and men constantly make fun of this because they think it’s just that unrealistic that they could cherish women and that women are stupid in the first place for wanting such an impossible thing

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.

There is no shame in starting over. Or not outlining. Or writing slowly. Or using clichés. Or writing multiple projects at the same time.
You are in charge of your own writing journey. It’s up to you which path to take, and none is less valuable than the other. You do you.

went down the rabbit hole of Narnia again and was reminded of how much I love the books and films <3 that said, I BADLY need a series that covers everything (ik they announced one before but tbh where is it… I see no updates)
just imagine a series like this:
s1: the lion the witch and the wardrobe
s2: the golden age* + the horse and his boy
s3: prince caspian
s4: early age of exploration aka post narnia revolution*
s5: the voyage of the dawn treader
s6: the silver chair
s7: the last battle
prequel: the magician’s nephew
kinda giving game of thrones in terms of chronology and length I guess haha anyway, there’d even be room to include content* that aren’t part of the books (bc show writers love to do that lol) or at least expound and add on to stuff that were just touched on. so just imagine all the possibilities??? netflix or disney+ hire me pls

I hear a lot of people bitching that they can’t leave kudos multiple times per story, or can’t leave kudos on every chapter, or whatever.
Well, take a page out of this marvelous book, because I swear I’ve never been so happy to receive kudos as waking up to multiple people having done this on multiple chapters on a story I just posted.
The bar just got raised, folks.

Friendly reminder that fan-made content (fanart, fanfic, fanvids, etc) are:
extremely time consuming. Remember someone actually took time out of their life to create that, time they could’ve used to, idk, sleep, for example
entertainment you’re consuming for free. I can’t stress this enough: you’re enjoying someone else’s craft for free. You paid exactly zero money to look at/read/watch it.
S H A R E D  with you, not made for you. This is the most important point: someone created that, put it online and you found it. No one forced you to consume that fanwork, you C H O S E  to do it.
Whenever you feel like leaving a mean comment, anonymous hate or make a ~clever post about how ‘lol look at all of these overused tropes every fic writer crams into their fics’ remember you’re being a dick to someone who shared their work with you. You’re not being funny, you’re not being edgy, you’re not being brave for calling something out - you’re being a dick.

I understand feeling like the Wattpad thing isn’t a big deal if all you posted there was work you feel is silly and ridiculous now. But you did the work regardless and no one else should profit off of that. You may not ever want to see the work you posted on Wattpad again, but no one else deserves to profit from it just because Wattpad decided to cash in. Remove your stuff from the website, do a search for your content in case someone else posted it for you, and send them a goddamn takedown notice. This is a shitty thing to do to young writers, and if it’s not pushed back against, it will only get worse.

comparing hand sizes, then linking fingers together and druig pleaseee
Ajak had insisted upon one thing when the last few Deviants were left and your time of destroying them was coming to an end – a family dinner once a year, attendance mandatory. Even though you all lived together, she gave none of you a choice and made quite a big deal out of the occasion. It was a dinner party just for the Eternals.
You wouldn’t say that the dinner parties were boring, but spending time eating with people you saw every day and had done for quite a while was certainly not as fun as hanging out with humans who were all so different than you.
Truthfully, you were the only reason Druig bothered to come along.
He wasn’t scared of Ajak getting mad at him for not showing up, he was more scared of you getting mad at him for not showing up. Besides, when else would Druig get to sit next to you for hours without anyone breaking you two apart?
You were the one person he truly trusted with his deepest and darkest thoughts. You were his person. You were, he thought, the person made to be with him, like Sersi and Ikaris were made to be with one another. None of the other Eternals, or even you, knew that he thought this, and he intended for it to stay that way.
Until that dinner.
It was half way through the night when Kingo had brought up the fact that he’d recently seen children in the village measuring hands with each other to see who had bigger hands. He had joined in and obviously won out over the nine year olds, but the mention of it had made every single Eternal begin to measure hands with the person beside them.
Druig, who was sat next to you and Thena, favoured the person to his left. You.
Not that Thena was interested in measuring hands with him, anyway.
He held out his left hand to you, lips quirking up to one side. “Shall we, then?”
You didn’t hesitate in placing your right hand over his, lining up the bottom of your palms to get the most accurate reading. Druig couldn’t help but smile as he looked at the way you focused and the feeling of your hand on his. He wanted to hold your hand and never let it go.
“I didn’t realise that our hands would be so different in size,” you met his eyes.
His gaze drifted down to where your hand still rested on his. Your hand looked small in his larger one, a fingertips length gap between where your fingers ended. Druig couldn’t help himself from linking his fingers with yours. He’d never held your hand before, had never had the opportunity, but he figured nothing could go wrong with doing it now.
Your fingers entwined, you looked between them and Druig, a little confused but also completely flustered. You felt like your soul was about to fly out of your body and leave you for dead. Druig was holding your hand. He’d just linked your fingers together.
Half of the eyes at the table had turned to look at the two of you, surprised.
“D’you mind?” Druig leant in towards you.
He wanted his words to be for you and you alone, not anyone else at the table.
You shook your head. “You can– you can hold my hand any time you like.”
Druig smiled, moving your entwined hands to rest on his thigh so he could sit comfortably. “Well then… I might have to take you up on that offer, beautiful.”

In case someone doesn't know how to make a "keep reading" on mobile:
I've seen some nerve-racking 10k fics that don't have the cut and in their worst, they're also full of media like "this is a picture of what you're wearing, this is the view you're seeing from your hotel room, here's a gif how x looks at you in this scene" = Tumblr app struggles to load that wall of text and media and then Tumblr app crashes and when asked to put the cut, people are like "I'm on mobile and can't put the cut" so here's a little tutorial video for you guys.
I know this is a problem with all characters but tagging some popular ones to gain exposure for this post.
