God, how was he gonna lay this on him gently? Part of him even wondered if he should tell Eddie what happened, but he felt like not answering his questions would make him even more of an asshole than if he just told him. Maybe he could just… not tell the whole truth. Not yet. “ You’ve… You’ve got a point. ” He nodded. At least the cheek scar had a non-supernatural and non-fatal explanation. “ The cheek was Bowers, which I’m sure doesn’t come as a surprise. ” Ben himself still had a scar of the ‘ H ’ that Bowers had carved into his abdomen decades ago. “ He broke out of the hospital and… ” Not wanting to say it, he elected to simply make a stabbing motion into his own cheek. Not exactly tasteful, but it got the point across.
he really shouldn’t have been surprised by the explanation for that particular scar. bowers had always been psychotic even when they’d been kids, and eddie could distinctly remember all of the terror that had been caused by him. they should have expected something like that to happen when dealing with it. still, watching as ben did the stabbing motion to his own cheek made the point get across a little too well. a hand reached up, lightly touching his left cheek where the scar was. oh, god, he felt like he was going to be absolutely sick right now. not only did they have to deal with the murderous, terrifying clown on top of everything, but they had to deal with an old bully. “great. that’s just... wonderful.” his memories were clearly messed up, then. eddie didn’t remember any of that happening -- nothing beyond everyone but stanley showing up for the dinner. he didn’t want to think too much on it, knew what would happen otherwise. “how much more do you remember that i don’t??”

Ben was trying his best to act normal, but part of him was still in shock that Eddie Kaspbrak was sitting in front of him, alive and seemingly just as confused as he was. There were clearly some gaps in his friend’s memory, and he was trying to piece together if it was a side effect of this town, or the trauma he’d no doubt gone through. Regardless, even if Ben felt like Eddie had a right to know why these things were happening to him, he had no idea how to break it to him gently. “ Eddie, it’s… ” He paused. “ It’s gonna be really fucking hard to explain, man. ”
this whole ordeal, as weird as the whole thing was, thankfully wasn’t as terrifying or surreal as fighting a psychotic clown from outer space. even if eddie still wasn’t convinced that whatever was happening now wasn’t its fault. letting out a humorless laugh, he leaned back in the chair, scrubbing a hand down his face. he really shouldn’t have come back to derry, thinking back on it all. maybe then he wouldn’t have wound up in whatever situation he was in now. “considering that we’re in some strange town and i was forty last i checked, i’m not sure how much harder it could be to explain whatever you know. we’re used to weird shit, right?? that’s, like, our thing.”

there was a sense of relief that came from knowing he wasn’t exactly alone in this place. at least some of the losers were wandering about this strange town just as he was. it definitely lessened a bit of his panic, but eddie was still overly cautious and convinced something was going on. even if his life had never been normal, this just felt a little too weird to write it all off completely. and then, of course, were the fuzzier memories that eddie was unable to piece together. something was missing from his memory, just as everything had been taken away from him after leaving derry. “i’m telling you something isn’t right here, ben. i mean -- forget that weird, creepy, and highly unsanitary motel this place has going on. i have a fucking scar i can’t remember getting, my chest feels like molten lava whenever i think about my memories too long. oh, god. something is seriously wrong with me.” // @edgcofgreat ( ben )

Daphne had been in some pretty creepy places before, but something about this motel gave her the absolute creeps in ways she couldn’t explain. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that she just woke up there, but every time she heard a noise outside her door, she felt the need to investigate. Poking her head out the door, she whispered, “ Did you hear something? Jeepers, this place is creepy! ”
there was absolutely no hiding the fact that he definitely jumped whenever a head was suddenly being poked out of the door. bringing a hand to rest over his racing heart, eddie took a moment to calm himself down before he bothered to say anything. he needed to get his breathing back under control before he needed to use an inhaler. jesus. “please don’t tell me you heard a creepy noise, i really don’t think i can deal with that right now. this place is already creepy enough. and really not up to standards on the sanitation. i mean, really. i’m going to get sick in this place, i already feel it.”

( open ) / location: anywhere around town
no ship. stranded on an UNKNOWN planet. things weren’t looking up for din at the moment. he’d awoken in some strange place of lodging. thankfully, the kid was right there beside him. upon exiting the motel, din had been met with the strangest looks he’d ever been given. on the planets he had visited, he’d always gotten stares. MANDALORIANS weren’t common anymore, and he was always sure to turn heads wherever he went. with the child nestled safely in his bag, din canvased the streets, trying to locate anyone that could give him information. ❝ hey, you there. ❞ he approached with caution, making sure the kid was partially concealed. ❝ can you tell me who’s in charge here? my ship is missing, and i’d like to locate it so i can retrieve some supplies. ❞ he paused, taking a quick glance around. ❝ by the way, what planet is this? ❞
nope. nope. no fucking way was he dealing with any of this anymore. it didn’t help that eddie was just as confused as whoever this was and on the verge of a panic attack. clearly he should have never gone back to derry even as that fear and absolutely cold terror had taken grip the moment he had caught eye of the caller idea in his car. maybe it would have been better if he had never taken the damned call in the first place. then he wouldn’t be in whatever this mess was and whatever IT was up to. all eddie could do was eye this weird... person. whatever he was. “at least you didn’t go with the whole cliche of take me to your leader.” funny. real funny, eddie. this is probably the clown messing with you and you’re making a joke. “look, i -- i really don’t have an idea of what’s going on here either. but i’m pretty sure we’re on earth. which i’m starting to think you’re clearly not and that’s making me real fucking suspicious right about now.”

no, eddie had absolutely zero idea of what was happening. that was what unnerved him the most of everything else -- the uncertainty. that was when the fear began to creep up, the panic of it all. his first thoughts always drifted off to this being some sort of fucked up thing that IT was doing just to mess with him. seemed likely considering that clown was back and their memories were all coming back after being gone from derry. wandering around the town, it was all eddie could do to keep himself distracted and not falling into a panic attack.
what he hadn’t expected to see was a familiar figure. a sense of relief flooding through him as eddie took off in that direction, features elated as he came to a stop before richie, hands moving to clasp at his best friend’s shoulders. “richie,” he all but breathed out. “please tell me you have an idea of what’s going on. i’m really starting to freak out a little here.” // @beepxbeep

{ logan lerman, male, he/him } have you heard that ( eddie kaspbrak ) from ( it ) appeared in town? i know, i can’t believe it either. he is ( 24 ) years old and is a ( risk analyst ). I’ve heard that he has a tendency to be ( resourceful and good hearted ) and ( timid and germophobic ), and they have ( some ) of their old memories.
Canon
at a very young age, his father died from cancer and it ultimately resulted in his mother becoming extremely protective of him. she constantly wanted to keep him safe and it even got the the point where she made eddie believe he had certain illnesses, such as severe asthma, that he didn’t actually have.
any time that he would try to rebel against her, usually encouraged by hanging out with richie, his mom would repress his feelings and emotions which resulted in fears manifesting about the world around him, diseases, standing up for himself, and his sexuality.
prior to the actual beginning of the losers club, eddie and bill had been friends for a while before.
eventually the losers club forms and they begin to be terrorized by it. the first instance for eddie is when he is passing by the house on 29 neibolt street and feels drawn to the place and unable to tear himself away from it. this results in pennywise using his fears against him, and eddie is confronted by a hobo suffering from disease who chases him. while he barley manages to escape, he catches sight of the clown before he runs off.
the group begin to tell one another about their own strange encounters with it, and ultimately they all come together in order to fight it.
the first time results in eddie breaking an arm and almost dying. while the group disbands for a while, they all come back together with eddie rebelling against his mom and they face down pennywise again. this time, they believe they’ve won
before they all part, the losers all agree to come back to derry should pennywise not actually be dead and they all go on with their lives.
eddie goes on with his life. he becomes a risk analyst and marries a woman that is very much like his mom.
time passes and they’re all called back to derry whenever it begins to become active once more. the losers club once more comes together to fight back against the clown. while they do ultimately defeat it, eddie is unfortunately killed. it impales him through the chest after eddie attacked the clown in an attempt to save richie from the deadlights.
despite richie wanting to believe he was alive, eddie is dead and is left behind while the rest of the losers escape.
Ivywood
so, eddie has SOME of his memories. at the moment he has no idea why or how he got to ivywood and is absolutely concerned about it all
his memories are intact through his childhood, battling it for the first time, and coming back to derry after all those years passed by. everything after is extremely fuzzy to him
this means he does not remember dying or the final encounter or anything that led up to all of that.
he is. very confused. definitely a bit scared by everything and the uncertainty. anytime he tries to remember anything past what he does, his chest begins to burn and that just sends him into a whole fit because he thinks something is wrong with him
eddie also has a scar on his left cheek where he was stabbed through the cheek. also has no idea how that happened so yeah he’s freaking out about that one too. he’s not having a good time.
Headcanons
while eddie is very timid and fearful a lot of the time, he is able to find his bravery and hold onto it whenever his friends are in danger. most of the time, at least. he really tries to be brave.
eddie is gay. derry wasn’t the best town to feel safe in that feeling, and it resulted in a lot of internalized homophobia for him. while he did marry his wife, he never really loved her and it was just his way of pretending he was normal.
throughout the years even when he forgot everything, he still remembered richie.
