@endtown sent : [ INTERRUPTED ] : as sender and receiver lean in to kiss they are interrupted by a third party.

marley had grown fond of the nights that bear came over to visit. they enjoyed spending time with the other, took great comfort in their visits. and it was another excuse for them to cook a nice meal for him, make sure he was taking care of himself. as much as bear might dislike it, marley worried about him. often, in fact. and honestly ... they thought of him often as well, much more than they had ever anticipated. feelings, they had decided. they had begun to develop feelings for the other. which was complicated, considering they were technically his boss. so they decided to tread carefully, push them down as best as they could, and just be there for him whenever they could.

they aren't sure what exactly had lead the two to sitting this close together on the couch, knees brushing against each others every once in a while, only causing a flush to rise to their cheeks. and at this last brush of the others leg, marley turned their face towards his, eyes searching over his face that was pretty damn close to theirs. their breath catches in their throat and they can't help but lean in a little bit further, and holy shit, he wasn't pulling away. in fact, he was leaning in.

eyes flutter shut for a moment, knowing what could possibly be coming next, but ... it seemed that ginger had other plans. the dog jumps up onto the couch, right onto bears lap, and then worms her way in between the two. eyes snap open, and marley can't help but let out a loud laugh, hand moving to pet their dog. god dammit, their pets really did love bear. "i'm starting to think you just come over here to hang out with ginger and cheese." they tease, head ducking down a fraction, glancing away from the other in embarrassment.

they let out a sigh when alice says that she does not mind. marley could not imagine going out and being around others right now. nothing particularly awful had happened today, it had just been a bit overwhelming. they were exhausted, and a night in is just what they needed. "a movie sounds great. we could even make popcorn ... i could make us some tea, or some hot cocoa !!"

"i don't mind." alice tries not to look relieved. quiet, uneventful nights in are far better; she craves a mundane existence over anything else. marley's words do give her pause - the kind thing to do would be to ask if they want to talk about their day, but she's never been good at that. instead, she offers an alternative to distract from whatever thoughts are plaguing them. "we can put on a movie, if you'd like."

"well of course i bring you the best cheese, i know my stuff." they tease with a laugh, taking a bite of some of the cheese they had brought for the others. "oh you for sure could go to france. my tip is, always pretend like you know what you're talking about." sure, they were knowledgeable about all things cheese, but even marley will make up the occasional lie about something to make a sale. "be confident, say it like you mean it. lots of times fancy people will just believe whatever you say."

"you always, like---....bring me the best cheeses! i was never a cheese guy until you came along---..." he liked marley! sure, he didn't really have a digestive tract anymore but he did enjoy a good snack. they all did! that's why they always requested different food. it's a comfort thing.
