We are thrilled! We were able to announce that Codivir, our Covid-19 antiviral drug, was successful in its Phase 1 clinical trial. The is the first significant step in our important and exciting journey - with many more to come.
Antiviral drug Codivir, developed by Code Pharma BV, shows promising effect against COVID-19, wrote AP News. Codivir, a short synthetic 16 amino-acid peptide derived from the HIV-1 integrase, was initially discovered at the Hebrew University in Israel.
These results indicate that the drug can be used to treat COVID-19 patients suffering at different levels of severity. Due to its direct antiviral effect, Codivir may have a similar beneficial effect on other RNA viruses, such as influenza.
