Yes, Sasuke is not Sarada’s Dad.

Madara went back in time to prevent Deidara’s death, who is actually a female, and Itachi hooked up with Deidara when he found out that Deidara’s Mouth could do much more than just chew clay. Those two made love, Deidara got pregnant but Tobi was so jealous of ItaDei’s unborn lovechild and wanted to ruin their happiness. One night when Deidara was asleep, he cut the fetus out of Deidara’s body, traveled with it into the future and impregnated the fetus into Sakura’s body because he knew that Sasuke would only make her his wife out of pity and hoped that Sasuke would treat the child cruelly because Sasuke is evil like all the other Uchihas.

But the Sakura who is married to Sasuke is actually Karin in disguise because she knew Sasuke would never marry such a strong and undependent portrayal of feminism like her. But what she doesn’t know is, that Sasuke is cheating on her with Naruto (scandalous!!!) since those two are deeply in love and Hinata is just an alibi-wife so nobody will discover their secret relationship.

The real Sakura (who realized she actually loved Naruto all along) died of a cold because she is weak and so useless she couldn’t buy enough tissues and suffocated in her own snot. And chapter 700 and the Movie are just a gen-jutsu, caused by Kaguya but it’s a secret that Kishimoto can’t reveal because we are all homophobics and the management is pressuring him into fan-service because Hinata’s Seiyu is so popular and Kishimoto needs that money to pay his rent.

So, Sarada’s genes are Deidara’s and Itachi’s (c’mon don’t you see the side bangs?? And she has bad eyesight like Itachi duh), was carried out by Karin (hello, glasses hello??) but is brainwashed into thinking that Sakura is her mother. I mean dude, just look at all the parallels.

Let me just debunk this rather fast.

Ignore the last chapters where he insults her:

Insult her? Where? He is only saying Sakura is useless against the current situation. He’s right. At that point, only Naruto and Sasuke can stand a chance against Madara.

Kakashi himself got the same treatment, and he acknowledged his own helplessness in that situation.

Yet, why are you only focusing on Sakura?

I hate how in fanfics, fan art and even in standard discussions people in this fandom act like Sasuke doesn’t know about affection, relationships, sex etc. In canon he wasn’t ‘dumb’ like Naruto and Sasuke actually knew what type of relationship him and Sakura shared. 

He sold himself out asking Kakashi if he should play at romance when Sakura asked him to return. He knew what type of feelings Sakura had and why he couldn’t respond and return them i.e. because of his mission of revenge. 

Sasuke is the character who gets love the most. His entire character is driven by love and he is the character most affected by relationships. Hence SS becoming canon so early (699) and being married and with a kid despite him traveling for two years after 699. Sasuke was not naive. He didn’t think of Sakura as his friend who might be a lover in the future. He already established that he loved her and she loved him before leaving.

Honestly there are so many layers to SS.

In 699 Sasuke admits that he was a child starved of love and fostering hate in this world. 

Now if we look back, in 181 Sasuke genuinely thanks Sakura for everything; for loving him. This is further supported in DB 2 where Kishi emphasises that Sasuke was genuinely grateful for Sakura loving him and that she was the one who filled his lonely existence. 

“Towards Darkness the one to appear before him is Sakura. She confesses to him as he tries to leave without looking behind him. She confesses with a blindingly uncompromising mind that does not want to lose him. The one that filled his lonely existence was Sakura. But he cannot let her in. He leaves with just one word of thanks. Sakura who needed him to the very last. His words were real.”

And this comes full circle in 699 when Sasuke, finally free of darkness, accepts Sakura’s feelings, expressed his own with the poke and thanking her. He thanks her this time once more showing how grateful he is for her caring about him and loving him as she had throughout the manga. 

From the start to the end, everything with SS comes together perfectly to create a complete story and I find that fascinating.

The importance of the ‘thank you’

If we really pay attention it’s easy to see the importance of Sasuke’s ‘thank you’ to Sakura in the series. Most people know how important the forehead poke is but it seems like the significance of Sasuke’s ‘thank you’ is forgotten as a result, in my opinion. 

Sasuke thanking Sakura is a sign of his love for her which was to be cut out for the sake of his revenge. It’s his parting words to Sakura in chapter 181, thanking her for everything she had done, thanking her for loving him and as we all know these words were real. He couldn’t embrace this bond due to said vengeance so this is all he could leave. 

The importance of his ‘thank you’ is further highlighted when Sakura attempts to take his life to save him from his own darkness in chapter 483. Here the memory of Sasuke thanking her is what stops her as it proves to her that he has good in him and he has genuine love within him. It even is used to show her that Sasuke has love for her, most notably later on in the series. 

In chapter 693 the ‘thank you’ is touched upon again and this time it is used exclusively to show that Sasuke cared for Sakura and still has those feelings within him. His ‘thank you’ let Sakura know that a part of his heart is assigned to her and thinks of her fondly even in the midst of his darkness. These words even caused him to pause, shudder and think of his lost loved ones, further proving how important him thanking Sakura back in 181 truly was for his and Sakura’s characters and their relationship in general. 

As it was introduced in 181 so too was the ‘thank you’ used again in 699, this time to properly resolve Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship through completing the parallel. Now reformed, Sasuke thanks Sakura once more, this time with his eyes meeting hers, a smile on his face and accompanied by his expression of love, the forehead poke, an expression even better than a kiss. After being emphasised throughout the manga we now see Sasuke thank Sakura again, now free of darkness as we was not in the past. It’s in this moment that we see Sasuke finally express his love for Sakura, which Sakura herself positively responds to. She is in awe and blushes at his words. 

Now this is important for Sakura since it reassures her and confirms what she believed since day one, that Sasuke always held here dear to him since 181 and even before that, that she held a special place in his heart and that he truly did love her as she had thought. This serves to confirm and canonize Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship as Sasuke finally responds to her love and confessions, thus showing us all that he loves Sakura as Kishi showed us throughout the manga. 

In sum, Sasuke’s ‘thank you’ is proof of his feelings for Sakura and has been since chapter 181.

There's an argument between SS fans about when Sasuke actually started loving Sakura romantically. Some of them say that he was in love with her by chapter 699 and they claim that Sakura saying in gaiden that the forehead poke was "better than a kiss" means that it was a romantic gesture from Sasuke's part in chapter 699, thus meaning that he loved her then (romantically). Some of them disagree (me also). I know we had some arguments but most of the times I agree with you. So what do you think?

I certainly don’t think Sasuke was in love with Sakura by 699. I think by that point his feelings towards her were deepening, and she was far more than a normal friend/comrade. She was someone special to him, so he gave her his ultimate expression of affection to signify that.

I think that he had feelings for her, which had developed during the period between the end of his fight with Naruto, and his departure for his journey of redemption, but he hadn’t properly fallen in love with her at that point.

This is would be a totally surprising event. Sasuke isn't know for his huge inferiority complex towards Itachi and later Naruto. He isn't known for being a jelly boy in general. It's not like he was so angry about it he didn't take it out on a water dumpster and then defected to go join snake man.

Because of the posts going around, I was starting to think that I was IMAGINING these panels but then I saw your post and then I was reminded "oh wait, right... it DID happen." Honestly, I don't understand why we're even arguing about this... so thank you.

You’re welcome. There are more but these are the obvious ones and I have tumble on mobile online, so I’m kind of restricted on what I can post. Sasuke has always felt inadequate, first to Itachi and then started feeling that towards Naruto as well, Sakura and Sarada at times. He has always been afraid of loosing the people he loves too, for obvious reasons, furthermore the Uchiha Curse of loving more than others (its a dumb concept but its… canon). These are aspects that were always part of him and were strengthened in his formative years, so these are things that he’ll have as an adult as well.

Sasuke isn’t jealous in that terrible possessive way. He’s not going to beat up Sakura’s suitors or demand Sakura to dress in a burka. He is jealous in that insecure way because of inadequacy and fear of losing those he loves. So when confronted with those, he tries his best to steer things his way again.

The only time it was terrible was Sakura smilling at Naruto at the hospital. However, Sasuke’s first reaction to Sakura smiling at Naruto wasn’t to be angry at Sakura or Naruto, his first reaction was to train harder (rhis is what follows his first flashback before Itachi appeared) so he could compensate his inadequate feelings and not being able to save the ones he loved (in that case, Sakura). This is how he usually reacts, this is why giving Sakura a ring (compensating his inadequacy as a husband in that particular country’s customs) and why he worries that she’s there even if he knows she is strong, is in-character. Its why gaiden had Sasuke feeling inadequate as a parent (in this case, towards Sarada) and worrying about Sakura even though he knows “his wife isnt weak” (same as gaiden).

In the hospital scene, Sasuke had just woken from being tortured, after failing to protect the ones he loved (in that case, Naruto and Kakashi), as well as feeling inadequate (because not only Itachi defeated him easily but also because Itachi told him had no interest in him, but in Naruto instead), furthermore he was under Orichamaru’s influence. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. He never did that again because that’s not what he usually does, plus the story needed him to go away so he was pushed to that borderline behaviour. XD.

The forehead poke was really perfect, I still think about it.

Sakura is introduced as hating her forehead, so much she used to hide it with a fringe because she was bullied, and having a crush on Sasuke because he thinks hr is awesome. Sakura's grand wish is for Sasuke to appreciate her forehead despite it being "ugly" and fantasies he'd kiss it.

Sakura spends the first part of the manga as "useless". She never thinks she really measures to her teammates. Little does she know that she has done so much, it will impact her life and her relationship with Sasuke forever.

Sakura gets her heart broken because Sasuke runs away to be softcore evil and wanting him back as well as help Naruto, she goes learn to be strongest female ninja with Tsunade. She succeeded so hard she even manages to learn her master's forehead seal technique.

After some screw ups, Sasuke is redeemed by Itachi, then defeated by Naruto's friendship so he returns home. As he says goodbye to Sakura, he is thankful and promises to return, implying he loved her since before he left (while she was "useless" but was in fact deeply impact in him with her love) by repeating the same words he told her back then when he ran away and TOUCHING HER FOREHEAD (the diamond mark that was the symbol of her hard work to get him back after he left).

Meanwhile Sasuke is introduced as hating his brother and not wanting to bond with others much. Not as terribly cliché as the anime made it to be, but he was standoff-ish which is normal. Sasuke's whole family was murdered by his older brother when he was only a small child, so hr has promised he'll live to avenge them.

It's later revealed Sasuke idolised his brother, because Itachi was just so awesome. Still, Sasuke felt insecure about his brother's affections for him since he never had much time for him because of his work. He remembers, both bitterly and also fondly that Itachi would always playfully poke in the forehead and tell him they'd play another time.

Sasuke was disillusioned by his brother as a young child, but somehow grew to care for his friends, so much he considers them a second family. However, Itachi returns years later to beat him up and torture him to 72 hours of replaying their parents death in his head, so he decides to stop being a good guy and become a bad guy, because otherwise he will never avenge his family by killing his brother. He leaves his friends behind and goes join creepy snake man.

When Sasuke becomes strong enough, he kills snake man and goes after his brother. After a big fight there I'd a stalemate and it looks like Itachi kind of won after all despite his best efforts, but the man was already very sick from an unknown disease, so he succumbs to exhaustion. Before Itachi dies, he reaches for his brother and touches his forehead. Sasuke smiles despite everything and collapses in exhaustion.

When Sasuke wakes up, he is quite broken from killing his brother, because despite it all he still loved him in some way. Its then revealed that everything Itachi has done was to protect the village they lived in, it was his duty to kill his family and join an evil organisation. The only one Itachi couldn't kill was his little brother.

After Sasuke becomes softcore evil out of grief and pulling the drama quern card a lot, he is finally redeemed by Itachis zombie and then defeated by Naruto's friendship. While Sasuke believes he has ammends to do and this is why he wishes to go on a redemption trip, when Sakura asks to come along, he touches her forehead and tells her the same words he brother used to tell him.

This forehead poke encompasses two things. Sakura's wish to be acknowledged by whom she is despite her flaws (part 1) and by her strengths (part 2) by the guy she likes. Sasuke's yearning for "family" despite everything (after running away) and most importantly, accepting these bonds again (part 1 sans running away), which he later fulfills what his brother never did ("we will do it later") full by marrying her and starting a family together).

This is done... Sakura gets acknowledgement and Sasuke gets his family, symbolised through this gesture. At the time neither knows forehead thingies meant exactly to each other, but the reader KNOWS. It is one of the most perfectly woven ploy points of a 700 chaptered manga.

A kid's story doing it that right and deep. It could never top that, personally and I'm biased sure, nothing in that story was more perfect than that. Makes me teary eyed remembering. I'll remember it to the day I die.

Sasuke’s Family : Uchiha Family

I’ve been reading a lot of hate regarding Sasuke and Sakura’s family claiming that they are not real and it’s not a happy and suitable one. Let me point out and lighten things here.

A family is a circle of strength, founded by Faith, joined by Love and kept together by Happiness.

I strongly believe that Kishimoto left us a wonderful message at the ending of Naruto manga that taught us about happiness, love, chasing your dreams, never giving up, bonds, forgiveness and the importance of family. Kishimoto won’t left an unhappy and degrading lessons in life.

It really saddens me that some people failed to realize these messages and it also saddens me most on how they demean and disrespect Sasuke and Sakura’s family calling it an “unhappy” one. Some also claims that having a child doesn’t make it a happy family and Sakura doesn’t even deserve to be an Uchiha.

How can you even say these things if you don’t see the true essence of family?

You see, Uchiha Clan, treasures love and family more that anything else. This was also stated by Nidaime. These two things runs through the blood of every Uchiha. I believe that Sasuke won’t settle on someone that he doesn’t love. He won’t settle on someone just for the sake of “restoring his clan” without a strong feeling regarding his partner. Sasuke maybe stoic and masked his true emotions most of the times but he is not foolish. He knows all these emotions and he also treasures it within his heart.

What some people failed to realize is that Sasuke really wants a true and happy family. He sought for it ever since the day it had taken away from him. He will not choose someone who will make him unhappy. He’s been on that state for a long time and he will not make himself come back on being unhappy again. He veered himself to the right path and did a drastic change that makes him the better person he is now.

So why did he chose Sakura as her partner in life?

It was stated on the databook before that Sakura is the one who filled Sasuke’s lonely existence with the emotion called Love. They shared a certain bonds on the entirety of the manga. They cared and known each others feelings better than anyone else and if you failed to see this it is not my problem anymore. Sakura’s unconditional love and devotion to him never waver until the end and it did reached him. He chose Sakura because they shared the same feelings and understading. You learn and express love. And that forehead poke is a clear evidence of that. Sakura was his light in his darkness.

Sasuke always have his prerogative on who he will choose as his partner in life and he chose Sakura. He chose her not because there was no other choice (that’s a stupid notion for those who claims this) but because he loves her. He chose Sakura because she is the person who he wants to spend the rest of his life with. He chose her to be part of his family. He chose her because he wants to start a happy family with her. He needed her because he love her. And I have a strong faith on this.

I strongly believe that the new Uchiha family are pure. Sasuke and Sakura shares each others real joy and sorrow. They are bounded by love and happiness.

Sasuke and Sakura deserves each other and they deserve the family that they have now. They are both an inspiration and no one should disrespect their happiness that they chose and who they want to spend their lives with.

Sakura and Sarada is Sasuke’s most treasured gift in his life. They are happy and no one can tell me otherwise.
