Accept that you will need to take the time to empathize with the "enemy" in order to understand what they actually want, need, think, and feel in order to situate your responses in relationship to that reality?

Accept that if there is a solution that lifts up both peoples and allows everyone to move forward in a mutually beneficial way, you should throw your whole weight behind it because it'll help the people you're advocating for, even if it helps the "enemy" side too?

Understand and accept that you cannot rewrite or undo history, but you can help people move forward and make an active choice to prioritize forward thinking?

Know and have sat with the facts on the ground, have verified them from friendly and unfriendly sources, and are willing to acknowledge the truth of inconvenient facts and other people's truths in addition to your own?

Understand and accept that you not only should, but must call out poor behavior and bad actors in your movement in order to preserve its integrity?

If so, then maybe you're ready to be an activist on behalf of another group. If not, you are neither mature enough nor compassionate enough to act as an effective advocate and/or mediator.

i cant stand adventuring with necromancers 🤦‍♂️. you know what really gets to me? they never TELL you they're a necromancer. they always use some normal spells at first. like ice spike and shit. and then you turn around to look at your party and you notice there's one extra person there. yeeep. they resurrected the researcher that died before us and left a journal warning us of the incoming dangers at the dungeon. and you know you can't tell them shit. you hurt a wizards' feelings and they fireball you into a pile of dust while you're sleeping and cook a potion with your ashes. 🤦‍♂️

and before anyone says anything i dont have anything against conjurers. just wish more of them had the common fucking sense to summon elemental spirits or whatever.

How's Belphegor settling in? I've only interacted with once-stray kittens, so I'm used to them being terrified at first! I imagine it's different with hand-raised ones.

sometimes when I’m having a quiet moment with Pangur or Grim, I think “oh fuck what have I done” (re: the incoming kitten) because there’s a specific kind of loving calm you have with old animals that have spent their lives with you, and I don’t want to ruin that. and then other times Pangur and Grim will bother me out of boredom and ignore all their toys, and in those moments I say “heed my words, ye heathens, and despair, for I am bringing a tiny kitten to attack you. you will look back on this present boredom with gratefulness, because chaos is coming to your lands”
