I wanted the remake to modernize what I considered to be the pinnacle of cinematic storytelling in 1998. But I don't think Capcom has matured with the times, making the remake a weak contender in this area when compared to modern masterpieces like The Last of Us.

The game was fun, but it felt unrealized and the story was hardly worth 5 minutes of cut-scenes it took to show it. At the time of its released, I was upset that Oddworld abandoned PS2--but now I don't think I missed too much.
