Snow always comes across as cold and unbothered when he’s dealing with Katniss and the rebellion- but knowing how actually delusional and unhinged that man’s inner monologue is and with all the Katniss/Lucy Gray parallels I know when he was alone that man was probably ripping his hair out and screaming trying to figure out how the two are connected and assuming all of Katniss’ actions had ulterior motives that were directed at him. Just raving in his room alone like:

Temples are built for gods. Knowing this a farmer builds a small temple to see what kind of god turns up.

Not Chalice of the Gods continuing the trend of Percy having no clue how his own sword works, six years and two wars into having owned it.
Iconic.

how brain dead do you have to be to read a story about briseis and throw a hissy fit over it because it depicted achilles as a less than commendable figure. how shallow do you have to be to read about a female survivor and make it all about your fave male fictional character.

WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME???
Briseis was lost and confused. She was dead, of that much she was certain. Shot in the back. But where was she? Where was the beach? Why was there water everywhere? And where was Patroclus?
It took her days to find her way back. When she finally reached the beach & with that Achilles’ resting place, it was already too late. Patroclus’ name was added to the stone. He didn’t stay to say goodbye.
She wanted to be selfish, to feel sad that the love of her life would spend an eternity in the underworld without her, but that wasn’t like her. Her lips betrayed her by curving up: he was safe, he was happy, he didn’t need her anymore. She might never find peace (who was left to bury her now?), but at least she’d never have to worry about him again.

It’s the middle of the night. Chiron should probably get some sleep. Looking out of his window he sees two boys, they’re stargazing. Achilles! He thinks. Patroclus!
It’s only then that he realises that Patroclus’ skin is way too white and as glorious as Achilles was, he definitely didn’t light up like a glow stick in the night. It’s not them. It’s just Nico and Will.
It’s been over 2000 years, they’re dead, Chiron, they’re dead.

Rewatched The Good Place for the first time since s4 dropped and. Oh my god. The Good Place said "people are a result of their environment but we always have a moral responsibility to be better" and The Good Place said "every day the world gets a little more complicated and it gets a little harder to be good" and The Good Place said "even in the face of total nihilism, when nothing you do will matter, you still have to at least try. Because trying is better than the alternative" and The Good Place said "if you have bills to pay and shit to deal with you don't have time or energy to become a better person" and then The Good Place really said "people get better when they get external love and support. How can we hold it against them when they don't " and THEN The Good Place really said "no one is irredeemable. Everyone can try to be better today than they were yesterday" AND THEN! The Good Place said "Heaven is just enough time with the people that you love" OH MY FUCKING GOD.

yknow i’m thinking about trials of apollo a lot these days, and i think a lot of the distaste for the series stems from the lack of romantic pairings for Apollo, as well as the distinct change in focus on main character? so much of the riordanverse is fundamentally based on percy jackson that so many people refuse to read content without him in it, and i think that’s a damn shame because trials of apollo is such a heartbreaking and heartfelt story about family and grief, and it’s such a good series but i feel it’s so overloooked
