Sometimes I make that same face that Peter is making.

Out of all of the scenes in Vol. 3, I have to say this little one on Counter-Earth is one of my favourites because despite all the arguing and chaos that's going on between them all, it all stops as soon as Quill draws that picture of Theel and they focus on him and compliment his drawing.

It's so damn wholesome, and Drax wanting the picture for his apartment just has my heart.

I love the way they hype each other up like this. it's so sweet.

I don't know whether Peter had the Zune on him when he was Snapped, and I didn't check, but what if he didn't and Rocket found it later? I got this image in my head of our beloved raccoon stuck on a team he didn't choose, thinking nonstop about his lost family, finding dark places where he could work on his gadgets all alone, wrapped in his best friend's scarf, playing his best friend's music...

Perhaps he just had a very literalist sense of obedience: Take the thing because nobody said I couldn't.

Later on, realized that the things he'd taken (and who knows how many more there were that we didn't see) were actually useful.

I feel like there can be made some sort of underlying connection with all the times Rocket Raccoon stole things, but I'm not a smart person, I don't know the psychomalogical intricacies of these things.

For example Lil Rocket stole bits and pieces when nobody was paying attention to him, and he stored them in his cage with Floor. He probably noticed that something was off about his situation, but that can't be, right? He didn't have any other experience for comparison. How would he have known something was off about his life at the Arete Labs if he never had a normal safe home to compare it to?

Then again the way Lylla, Teefs and Floor treat him compared to how the High Evolutionary's recorders treated him was polar opposites. And how the HE spoke and looked at him, he could have noticed the fake emotions and misdirected compliments that sounded more like HE was patting himself on the back for creating Rocket whenever Rocket did something good.

Was it then a behaviour he taught himself to adapt to? Take things, because you never know when you need them to protect yourself? Or was it more of an intimate situation? Take the thing, because you were mean to me/I don't like you, so now I have this thing and you don't?
