when i think of a joanolo version of the book of life, i always find myself making joaquín the one to fall first, mostly because he TOTALLY falls in love fast (trust me) and also he's dense as fuck about his own sexuality 😭 then at the same time there is NO queernorming, so he (and manolo) is gonna feel all kinda bad?? and questioning extra hard about themselves

Hey, lowkey genuine question, what is "ride the cyclone"?

HOO BOY HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!

so basically, ride the cyclone is a musical about a choir of 6 teenagers dying in a rollercoaster incident. the main setting of the musical is in "purgatory" or literally, a warehouse, where a fortune telling machine named karnak has the ability to bring only one back from the dead. each of the choir members compete thru song about who deserves to live again.

that about sums up the plot, i hope you enjoy rtc :]

TBOJD choreo idea where jane at the beginning of the song begins to move non-humanly in an uncanny valley way, and when it nears the chorus she tries to take off her head. during the chorus she constantly gets frustrated as her fake head won't come off, urging and pushing it, hoping she'll find out her true identity. while doing this she begins to slowly move more naturally / human-like, but when the song ends she gives up and returns to her creepy doll self

tbol swimming hcs bc i went swimming today and i can:

out of the trio, manolo is the only one who couldnt swim (lmao 😭) maría learned how to swim in europe while joaquín learned at military training

joaquín actually learned late. he was given the opportunity to learn at childhood but he refused cuz he was scared of shark attacks.. (he had to give in when it was part of training)

maría has ungodly leg power & stamina it's insane (she can swim a full 25 yards in 15-20 seconds)

maría learned all the basic swimming styles (even a few artistic swimming ones for fun) while joaquín knows mostly basic water support

when manolo is actually in the water, he just. doggy paddles and barely makes it to less than 1 meter 😭 he has to hold onto a nearby surface to not drown and also stays in shallow water most of the time

maría has a strong breathing capacity so sometimes she lets herself sink to the bottom to scare the shit out of manolo (he thinks shes drowning)
