I do spin cycling regularly (idk if I’ve ever shared that here before) ANYWAY I just got back from a class and there was a couple who was extremely johnlock coded a few bikes down from me

shorter guy and taller guy, bikes side by side, setting the bike adjustments and getting set up, just casual little pleasant interactions, nothing super noticeable

Instructor comes over to welcome them and says hi, eyes the Sherlock-coded guy, says something along the lines of ‘cycling is a great way to meet people, make new friends’ etc

and IMMEDIATELY, without missing a split SECOND of a beat, the shorter, John-coded guy places his hand on the taller, Sherlock-coded guy’s shoulder and is like ‘we’re not here to make friends, we’re together’ and the Sherlock-coded guy just laughs and the instructor visibly backs away like okay I obviously made an error trying to hit on your boyfriend sorry anyway have fun!

abstract and modern art haters are sooo snobby like klein literally Created an entirely new pigment and then painted a canvas in a way where the brush strokes wouldn't be visible. the insinuation that people with no skill could reproduce that is so annoying because unless you are skilled at color mixing and painting you definitely couldn’t lmao

V tichom objatí noci sa ocitám uchvátená podstatou jeho bytia a s nežnou úctou sledujem kontúry jeho duše. Každá zašepkaná myšlienka naňho vo mne vyvolá búrku túžby, zapáli plamene vášne, ktoré tancujú pod mojou kožou. Jeho prítomnosť, symfónia zmyselnosti, rezonuje s pulzujúcimi rytmami mojej vlastnej túžby, pričom každý úder odráža kadenciu našej spoločnej intimity. Som k nemu priťahovaná s intenzitou, ktorá zatmí hviezdy, hypnotizovanś magnetickým ťahom jeho podstaty. S každým pohľadom odhaľujem vrstvy jeho zložitosti, každé odhalenie je posvätným odhalením túžby. A v nežnom šepotu nášho spojenia ma zožiera hlad, ktorý nepozná hraníc, oddávam sa omamnému lákadlu jeho dotykov. Keď nás mesačné svetlo kúpe vo svojej éterickej žiare, prepadne ma prvotné nutkanie úplne sa v ňom stratiť, nechať sa pohltiť ohnivou vášňou, ktorá medzi nami horí. Lebo som v ňom našla nielen milenca, ale aj múzu, ktorej podstata roznecuje najhlbšie túžby mojej duše.

As english being my second language im confused af right now

Just learned about garden path sentences.

They’re basically a literary prank– the sentence starts out in such a way that you think you know where it’s going, but the way it ends completely changes the meaning while still being a complete and logical sentence. Usually it deals with double meanings, or with words that can be multiple parts of speech, like nouns and verbs or nouns and adjectives.

So we get gems like

The old man the boat. (The old people are manning the boat)

The complex houses married and single soldiers and their families. (The apartment complex is home to both married and single soldiers, plus their families)

The prime number few. (People who are excellent are few in number.)

The cotton clothing is usually made of grows in Mississipi. (The cotton that clothing is made of)

The man who hunts ducks out on weekends. (As in he ducks out of his responsibilities)

We painted the wall with cracks. (The cracked wall is the one that was pained.)
