I think ‘I adore you’ is such a wonderful phrase, it’s so soft and loving and feels so safe and comforting

it's funny when ppl think "the one" literally means just the perfect love bec in the series, when you're a "one", you're basically a royalty and it's actually highlighting how Mer worked her ass from being a six to being one (or Maxon's The One). but it's never just flirting here and there. she literally had to compete to prove herself to be wife/queen material. and it was cool rly bc I realized that being a household queen literally means putting the kingdom together, you have to know how to host a gathering, be a good sport, dress properly bc it's something a husband can actually feel good for, dress femininely (again, for his sanity), be a real solid support system and be someone who's gonna push him to do his best and get out of his comfort zone. And Mer never was just "a girl" who took the privilege of her femininity to be protected, she actually faced rebels bravely and again, tried changing the views of many people about them. While some women worried about just being "liked" for the privileges, Mer had found a more profound purpose than just being selected.
