finally got enough sun to take good photos of the blanket i just finished crocheting!!! really really pleased with this. 50/50 cotton and bamboo viscose, all colors hand-dyed by me as well. 2.5 months of work!!!

this is based on the persian tiles pattern, though i only used the videos they provide for free on youtube and did by best guess on the rest, so i am sure it isn’t exactly the same. i would love to make another with this pattern someday, maybe plan my color distribution a little better, and be able to afford more yarn for an overall larger blanket as this one’s only about 3.5 feet across

My salmon bag I finished last night, wanted to make something for myself for once. This is what I came up with.

This was one of my first attempts to use a sewing machine several years ago, and I later started using it as a pin cushion. I needed some way to have it hold my tapestry needles, too, as I kept losing them, so after a year, I hot glued a magnet for her wattles. Lately, its her top-heavy behavior that's been bothering me, so I tore out a few stitches, put some loose change in her bum, and sewed her back up.

She makes a satisfying thump when I put her down on the table now.

Life is about change and growth or something like that.... maybe next year I'll put something in her comb to sharpen pins and needles with.
