It was made to fit on bodies for +/-50cm dolls (I specifically had the Dollstown elf body in mind while sculpting). It will come with teeth and 3 pairs of magnets. I will be using Harucasting’s services in order to get this head cast. Latex and suri alpaca wig. I think I found a good way to do the part. The wig does not shed, is washable, it does shrink a tiny bit, so I will have to take that into account the next time I make one. Other than that, it is amazing so far.

I brought this idea up in the BJD Discord channel but decided to wait until now to introduce it widely with hopefully enough time to prepare for the first monthly theme.

A lot of the time I’m so busy with orders from customers or dealing with life that I forget to make stuff for my own dolls, and hopefully by this I can encourage myself and others to start (or even finish) projects specifically for the benefit of our own dolls!

I don’t intend to make this exclusive, so anyone can join! It’s not just limited to seamstresses or jewelry makers, but it could be making doll props, or writing a drabble for your characters, or even just taking a photoshoot of a doll you never take out the box!

The first month’s theme is: basics/beginnings 

for example, a new doll that doesn’t have a shirt to his name.. or a character without a back story, or even just making a piece that pulls the character together!

We will be starting July 1st. If you have a simple project just post it when its done, or you can post updates all month! If you want help or want to chat the sculting and wip channel in BJD discord is the perfect place to post about these things, and on tumblr the hashtag for updates and finished projects should be #jms-bjd !

Headhunting

I am still looking for some CP/Delf/Fairyland heads to fill in the gaps in my collection. If you have any of these heads for sale I can offer cash. Acrylic “Press-On” Nail tutorial!

Pt 1 and Pt2!

I’m sure there are better way to do this but this is what I found works for me.

Something happened with the images of me attaching the nail to the hand, and the final images taken with the DSLR and they got corrupted. Thankfully the final step of gluing and attaching are fairly self explanatory.

Dreadlock wig is done! I don’t really need so if anyone keen poke me XD I probably have enough fibre for a MSD one too in that color. They are fun to make but none of my characters need them. He looks so good, looking forward to seeing more of him.

Did a mold of Clever’s chest this weekend. He’s got some nice body blushing but the color keeps getting washed out! I also haven’t finished his nip nips there and they’ll have to stay looking like milk duds till I get in my tooling resin for a final clean up of the sculpt! Ha!

Very pleased with his face up tho. Normally I am mediocre at best!
