His reaction wasn't exactly unexpected as she got the layers of clothes that he modestly covered himself with off. But that actually wasn't her goal in this very moment. Though maybe five minutes later it would be considering she could see specific parts of him starting to twitch. But right now, her finger tips trailed down his chest, along his tattoo before tracing the scales that dipped lower with gentle fingers.
"I do... and I'm going to tell you over and over until you've heard it as many times as they told you otherwise." She murmured, knowing what they had made him believe; how untrue it was. She didn't deserve him but ever since that first moment that his fingers had come to her cheek, she couldn't stop touching him.

She bit into her lip. "Thats just because I'm the only person you've ever been with." She chuckled, forced to drop her hand as he stepped behind her. She looked over her shoulder at him curiously.
[ ADORE ]  sender whispering “you’re perfect” to receiver after undressing them. -Alex
"Alex what are you-" he uttered before he noticed she was focused and determined to shed every layer off him. Her sudden decision was surprising, yet arousing, and his breathing became shallow until hearing her compliments.

"You really think so?" He smiled at Alex, "but it is you who is perfect, to me. More than- you are extraordinary." Reaching over, he brushed her cheeks with his fingers and went behind her

Alex put her arm behind her head to rest on as she felt her skin soaking in the warming spring sun. It was the perfect time of year to do this, when the sun felt hot but the nights and evenings were still cool enough to pull on a sweater.
"I think people forget about this part of life. I did for a little while." She admitted, eyes searching the sky as if she couldn't remember why exactly she had forgotten, gotten so wrapped up in what the modern world wanted life to be. Maybe it wasn't for her though.
She chuckled at Delias statement, pulling back into the moment where they were supposed to be. "Did you know baby cows get Zoomies like dogs. Its adorable." She chuckled. "I mean adult cows do too but a 600 pound cow having the zoomies is a bit more terrifying. Is there a reason why they're your favorite?" She asked curiously. "Besides the bangs of course!"
Tumblr media
She looked back over at Delia, brows furrowing in confusion at the statement. "Of course....but its not like it takes much effort. I feel like I should be saying that to you." She pointed out. She wondered if people made Delia actually feel that way, like being friends was hard. She couldn't imagine it.
With a smile, Delia found her own spot on the grass, situating herself beside Alex. She let out a contented sigh as the sun's gentle rays warmed her skin, the soft blades of grass tickling her bare legs. Now this was life!
"Ah, this feels heavenly," Delia remarked, stretching her arms out and sinking into the cozy embrace of the pasture. "And I couldn't agree more, grass is truly amazing. It's like nature's own comfy carpet."
As they basked in the sunlight, Delia listened attentively to Alex's words about the baby cows, her heart swelling with affection for the creatures. "I would love to visit them," Delia replied, her voice filled with genuine enthusiasm. "Seeing those little ones explore and grow is such a blessing! Cows are my favorite animals."
Tumblr media
Delia turned to Alex, her smile becoming a reflection of gratitude. "Thank you for being here, for sharing this beautiful day with me, and for accepting me just as I am. It means the world to me, and I treasure our friendship."

Alex trailed after him into the study though she did pick up the file and bring it with them. She didn't want to look at it- not because she didn't want to know or because she wasn't curious. But because she hadn't been lying. She wanted to hear whatever it was from him.
She listened, watching him and the turmoil on his face closely. Compassion was on her soft face as he poured himself the drink and told her what had happened. She winced though it wasn't at him, it was at the situation. Slowly she nodded.
"Gareth...I'm so so sorry." She murmured and she was because what a horrible thing to have to live with, that weighing on him for all of these years. As sad as it was this wasn't the first time she had heard something like that. When the US troops were occupying Afganistan at the beginning those stories and ones about friendly fire were all over. It just hadn't been a secret. When things were left in the dark, the festered like an infected wound.
"Thats not your fault though....like you said you were a Major and someone gave you that address." She knew that didn't make it any better emotionally but it did logistically. Stepping close she took his key from him and opened one of his desk drawers, sliding the file into it and locking it again so it was away instead of just taunting him.
She moved to the sofa and sat down, patting next to her for him to come and sit with her. "What would be better? To get out in front of this? Because even without me in the picture, that Dick can't have power over you."
Of course there were things from his past that she didn't know. And she had always tried to let him tell her those things naturally, to figure out the quirks of him organically. Like any new relationship. There was so much she didn't know though.
"For national security? Yes you will." She reminded him softly, more then ready to say it for him since he couldn't bring himself too. She'd do anything to reassure him on that...because it was the right thing to do. Greater good and all. And she would make it much much much harder on the MP then she made things on him. If he thought she was trouble, it was nothing compared to what she could do when she was actually trying to cause trouble.
She looked at him, lips pulling up into a little sad smile. "No...No I wouldn't." She admitted, stepping closer. Her lips pressed against his cheek before she slowly pried the file from his hands but instead of opening it, she put it to the side with a gentleness that showed it was intentional. She looked up at him again. "But I want to hear it from you. Not from him and not from that."

She rolled her eyes. "Yeah? Well considering they all disappeared out of my life when things got hard, I dont think that they get much of a say." She snorted back which was true. People didn't get a say when they didn't actually care about you. They already throught that she was crazy. What did she care if they thought that she was Naviee? She knew that Will hadn't seduced her or abused his power.
But him....yeah she was concerned about that. "I know." She sighed. "Which is why we have to make a plan. Make sure there is enough space and time in between now and when they find out." She glanced at him again, folding her feet up under her. "Does that scare you?"
She gave him a side eye through there was still a little smile on her lips. "I think you treat me a little bit better then just another person." She teased. "At least I hope so or I'm way more messed up then I thought." She chuckled. Even though her previous relationship hadn't been perfect at the end- most of it was good and she couldn't say she didn't live a charmed life before the incident.
She shook her head before resting it against his shoulder and arm. "See how you feel about that after we come out." She hummed through she was pretty sure he wouldn't change his mind.

She felt sick. She wanted to throw up honestly. She knew what was happening in that moment. Exactly what was happening but she also knew that she couldn't show it. It took every single ounce of her self restraint to not show it, to not reel.
She hailed a cab once they were out of the house, not saying anything on the drive home. Not with the driver in the front seat. She wanted to. Wanted to ask what had happened in 89. The file might has well have ben a bomb in their hands, in their life that had gotten so....comfortable. She knew that Gareth didn't feel the same way about her that she felt about him- that he couldn't. But that didn't mean that she didn't- hadn't felt safe with him.
Getting him she slowly took off her jacket, letting out a long but shaky breath. "I found a bottle with their address and his wifes name in Jamica on it. He should be able to dig up some things on it....on him. To protect you." She forced the words out, eyed watering because...well because there was something else in the statement wasn't there?
"I'm not a whore. I wont...go with him." She murmured, unable to meet his eyes. "But I meant what I said that day. I- I love you. And I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe and your life intact."
Even if that meant leaving. But she couldn't force those words out right now.
She finally met his eyes. "What happened in 89?"

She probably should have snooped more but she had tried to be respectful of his house. Now she kind of regreted that. She tried to focus instead. "So not just a squatter." She murmured, more statement then question.
She only half listened to the conversation, fingers coming to rub the stress out of her temples. All she could think about was the little human things. Where was he doing to the bathroom? Where were they showering? She knew some of her shampoo had been getting used faster but had assumed Gareth had run out. Had he watched them have breakfast and their little reading dates where she rested her head in his lap or she helped him ice his knee after a bad day? What about when they were intimate?
She shuttered, closing her eyes. Too much detail. Her brain was being far too detailed.
"How long does that normally take?" She asked. "The DNA I mean?"
Gareth shot her a firm glance at the remark, but didn’t say anything. There was no need to delve deeper, he knew he had fucked up; if they had checked the attic sooner, they could have found the culprit…before he had attacked Gareth.
Bond’s gaze was still on Alex. “He had to get past multiple security measurements.” He shook his head. “Only someone knowing damn well what they’re doing could pass the alarms without setting them off.” “But he left something?” Gareth finally asked, ignoring Alex’s tight grip on his shoulders. “Yes, Sir. We found spare clothes.” “Mm. Not much.” “No. But a chance to get his DNA and run it through our databanks.”

She finally met his eyes. "What happened in 89?"
Alex didn't bother to tell the man that there was a big difference in between someone being with someone half their age because they cared about them and someone being with someone half their age because they were forced or felt like they had to be with them. A man like that wouldn't understand the difference anyway.
She cringed at the word 'lover'. She hated that word. If somehow sounded more crude to her then any sort of curse or foul language- dimishing even. But other then that she didn't show a reaction because it didn't matter right now. From the look on Gareths face, what mattered right now was getting him out of her before his polished exterior snapped, which it looked dangerously close to.
"Then I suppose when have a case of mutual destruction here and we should stay in our own corners shouldn't we?" It didn't matter. She'd sent those pictures to Q. They would have more soon. But not now.
Reaching down she laced her fingers with Gareths as both a sign of affection and support. "Lets go?" She murmured softly before her eyes moved back to the MP. "You can call me Miss Herman." Her words were as calm as if she was introducing herself, giving Gareths hand a little, subtle tug. It wasn't even rude but a clear boundary.
