The day was long and hot. Without your husband helping tend to the farm anymore you found it difficult to get through the rounds of daily chores before lunch time no matter how early you started your day.

It was well past noon when you headed to the main house to get started on some lunch. Slicing up some bread and boiling a pot of well water, you prepared your meager lunch. When you heard the distant sounds of mares approaching from the dirt road.

Your farm was a bit far out from town so it was a bit odd to have a visitor. Looking out the window you saw the two horsed men ride down your dirt path and head towards the back of your house. Turning off your stove you hurried outback to investigate.

When you saw them steer their horses into your barn you were furious. “Hey! Hey! Get out of my barn!”

In your many years on the farm no one had ever been so forward as to intrude. Lifting the hem of your skirt you ran sore feet and all to the barn, hollering and cursing up a storm.

Standing now in the middle of the archway of the barn you were greeted by the sight of two men. Bandanas covering their faces with large satchels on each steed. Each bag with various bills poking through what seemed to be bullet holes.

“Well hello Ma'am” The blonde bandit uncovered his face while the hammer of the pistol in his silent partner’s hand clicked as you stood frozen in place. “We are mighty parched. Might you spare us a cup of water?”

A/n: set directly after the events of the first fic. Fluff smut cuteness 🥰 minors, ageless and blank blogs, and serial likers will be ruthlessly blocked also I fart in your general direction

They sat in old familiar places at the foot of her bed, sharing the old shag rug in front of the television screen.

“So. How much did you hear?”

Yule snorted. “All of it. Duh. Apparently you lured me back here for canoodling, young lady, I just thought we were gonna hang out.” He teased, even as a smoldering heat twinkled in his green eyes. Kaye remembered that particular glint of mischief, that familiar simmer of temptation.

“You look like you wanna kiss me,” she stated boldly.

“I’ve been waiting almost four years to kiss you.” Yule responded, as easy as breathing. “But if I start, I won’t stop and I still have a video game to beat you in.”

Kaye turned from him with a perfunctory “ha!” and selected a character while Yule did the same. Randomizing the stage location– and getting Slaughter Swamp– the two settled into well-worn territory.

“Y’know when you think about it, this is kinda like practice for your superheroing. I’m basically helping you train,” Yule said with mock-seriousness.

“Basically. Like, if my heat vision ever fails me, I can just throw a giant dead alligator.”

“Gotta use your surroundings, babe.”

The banter over the spamming of button mashing continued, allowing a normalcy to creep into Kaye. She was different now, they both were. But it was clear at their foundation, she and Yule still coincide without a hitch. He was her comfort zone. She was his.

It was so easy to slip back into old habits. That’s why when Yule looked like he was about to win their best two out of three, Kaye acted fast. She reached out for his face and locked her lips to his. Yule sank into it immediately, whimpering into her mouth.

“You are such a fucking cheater,” he moaned as he put the controller down and gathered her up on his lap.

There was a fundamental rightness to kissing Yule. Something that just made sense like hotwiring a car. Kaye knew just where to touch, knew just how to angle her head, and the engine was purring under her with a tweak of deft fingers. Yule licked into her mouth with a hunger and desperation that matched hers. He always matched her. Lock-stepped since they first smirked at each other from across a trash fire.

His eyes fluttered shut as she kissed down his neck. “Can I be vulnerable right now?”

“Of course.”

“If we fuck, I might cry.”

She pulled back to meet his eyes. Then brought their lips back together tenderly. “That’s okay.”

With an odd mix of impatience and relish, they undressed each other. Yule laid Kaye out on her plush rug and they undressed even more. Lips grazing bare skin, hands reverent and greedy, noises breathy and yearning eking from strained throats.

Kaye wrapped her thick thighs around Yule’s slim hips, he sucked spots into her neck and collarbone as his fingers teased her folds. Teased then pressed inside. Pressed then pumped. He worked her up to a panting, squirming mess. The most beautiful mess he’d ever seen.

He fixed his stance, knelt to sit just at her entrance and he shuddered as Kaye’s soft hand guided his tip over her wetness, positioned it at the beckoning heat.

Yule pushed inside, a strangled groan turning into a whimper. A little further and he shuddered. He humped little by little, inch by inch to the sound of both of their panting gasps.

His green eyes had started to swim above her, the lower lid flooding. He wiped what he could off his face on his shoulder but Kaye just laid a reassuring hand on his cheek.

“I told you it was okay.”

“It’s just… you haven’t been the only one away from home these last few years, Kaye.” Heavy with emotion, trying to suppress a tearful hiccup, Yule turned her heart over in her chest.

“Oh, Yule…” Kaye wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close. He snaked his own under and around her torso, clutching her firmly as he curled his hips into the cradle of hers, slowly moving through her welcoming walls. There was no rushing to this, no need to ever find a finish line.

He panted into her ear. “I love you. I never stopped.” He said it so easily, more fact than confession. Kaye nuzzled him until he lifted his face from her neck to meet her gaze. Her fingers tunneled into the long curls at the back of his head as she spoke.

“I love you. I never stopped.”

Who knows how long they laid there on her shag rug, bodies weaving unbreakable knots in the red string that bound them together. Never again to be parted. Blissfully tethered. But their climaxes do come eventually, not so much a shattering but a refitting, souls jostling to slot into the grooves of each other.

As soon as they finished, Yule rolled them over, clutching her to his chest like a teddy bear.

“Wait, Yule! My like… density is different now, I’m heavier—.”

“Good,” he said, without releasing her an inch, soaking in the weight of her. “So I can remind myself you’re really here.”

I thought it was pretty good, lol. I really liked world building and messing around multiverse timeline stuff. I wrote it in the same year Endgame was released, I had fun! But folks never really gave it a shot. I figured it was because of the dark! and Black Female Reader tags.
