Mizu x Taigen

Ok so I'm just gonna say it-

I don't know what I'm missing. But its incredibly off putting. And icky. It's honestly sad. Mizu should hate that man. We know how he was a huge part in ruining her childhood, he is a huge part of her trauma.

And I, for one, find the whole "he was just a ChiLD" stuff to be kind of, respectfully, bullshit.

(I also just think children need to be held accountable for their actions more often. Taigen was like 10 years old. At that age, you have basic ability to tell right from wrong. If you chose to listen to your gut or not is a different case. And as someone who was bullied by kids around that age, let me tell you that more often than not, they KNOW what they're doing. They just want to be an asshole. They don't care. And not all kids are like that. Some are. And they are not good people. Full stop. But anyway-)

I know people are going to say I 'lack media literacy' for criticizing a ship (lol), and that I can't see how taigen grows and matures throughout the season but I don't care, I hate that Taigen even has to be love interest for Mizu, she deserves better that someone who was still calling her a 'dog', who 'ate out of his trash', and a monster well into episode 3. And that whole chopstick fight scene is so enraging it's insane. Mizu has a lot of patience, I wouldn't have stayed back if he said that shit to me and I had mizu skills. Like really, go rewatch that scene, that's supposed to be sexy? Like, why is this shit turning mizu on? (as implied in her flashback during ep 4). Why isn't this bothering her more? And the sad thing is, I can tell you why. Mizu probably agrees with what Taigen is saying. That's the whole thing. She doesn't really hate him for how he treated her in her childhood and mostly just thinks he's annoying and stuck up at worst because she actually agrees with the notion that she's a monster. She repeatedly says, "Let me kill the men who made me this way, a monster." In some way, she too believes she's nothing but a dog. And its heartbreaking. I don't know why we're supposed to root for this. This is why I don't understand the taigen x mizu shippers. Why are you rooting for a scenario where mizu never accepts herself? Never learns to love herself? True development and a happy ending for Mizu can never come as long as Taigen is still a part of her life. She has to let him go.

I genuinely don't understand why more people don't bring this up. I want to discuss this. And I want to hear different opinions. I just want to understand I swear-

Rest are from random sketch files over the past few weeks.  Dude I can totally see Lin being super well behaved disciplined kid despite Toph not enforcing anything, but the one area she would take advantage is just eating whatever she wanted so chub babby lin 

Also love how different Lin and Su’s earthbending styles are.  Su is like Ty Lee if she was an earthbender and Lin is just like as graceful as someone shotputting a cinderblock.

Alright, I think this is the last short story comic I had queued up to finish.  Just something that evolved out of headcanon convos!

I think the Beifongs, while they may not have had a typical childhood, I think ultimately they were still really happy and close.  Which would be why it would be so devastating, especially to Lin, what they eventually became.
