“Awesome! Good to hear!” She grabbed her marker and rolled over so she was behind Hakuyuu so she could start drawing the design of the tattoo starting at the base of his neck.
“Im starting with the marker, so you wont be dealing with the needles for a little while. The sketch shouldnt take me too long though since I already have an idea of what I want to do.”
Tumblr media
“Right, got it,” he nodded, settling as he faced forward “I leave the master to her work. I can’t wait to get a final look before you actually start.”
He had a pretty high pain tolerance, but even Hakuyuu knew he’d need some breaks. Especially if it was anything like the one she’d practiced with, he knew this was going to take hours.

Elsa bowed her head back to acknowledge his thanks and was a little surprised when Rensying suddenly hugger her tightly, but she could only chuckle and hugged her back, gently patting her head. “You’re welcome! I am glad you like it.”
Tumblr media
Oh right since she was in this world, it meant she uses “magoi”. She caressed her head. “Do not worry, I am fine. I won’t overdo it.” she said reassuringly , though she did feel tired after this. It was the first time since she came here that she had used this amount of magic.
Tumblr media
She looked down at her hands and saw that they were slightly frozen. “But I will take your advice and sit down a little. Feel free to play around in the snow! We’ll watch.” She said as she joined Hakuyuu and sat down on a bench. “ I have to admit it fills me with joy and warmth to see your daughter so happy. “
He sat down next to Elsa, smiling as he watched Rensying run around and play in the snow.
“She’s a bright and happy child, and always shows it,” Hakuyuu declared, turning to Elsa “and knowing her, she will find a way to say thank you for all of this. It’s really important to her, to show her appreciation for the things and people in her life.”
Anyone with eyes could see that Rensying was the love of her father’s life, and he couldn’t be more proud of her.
Tumblr media
“Her mother passed in childbirth,” he explained, smile turning sad “and she’s known for a few years now, so her birthday has had a tinge of sadness for her. I think this is the first time in years that she’s been truly happy.”

Hakuyuu smiled as he started taking his shirt off, frankly anxious to get started. He’d eaten a filling breakfast and had his water, as she’d suggested before.
“Yes I did, and I do,” he nodded, folding up his shirt and putting it aside “you know I trust you with the design, and that includes colors. Whatever you pick, I know I’ll love.”
It wasn’t a reassurance, either. He really had high praise for any piece of flash or finished piece of hers that he saw pictures of.
There was also the whole thing of his scars on his chest being seen, but he knew most of the artists in Aya’s studio, and he knew no one would really question it.
As one of the kids he’d worked with once said; every hero has a tragic origin story.
Once she was ready, he settled into the chair, looking over his shoulder at her.
“Ready as I’ll ever be~”
Tumblr media
“Alright go ahead and take off your shirt and sit in the chair!” The artist chirped with a grin, getting her tools ready. “The dragon I did on you as practice will be a good guide since I already have that in my head—-do you want certain colors or is it all me?”
Aya was talking to her best friend,  Hakuyuu, as he’d come in for a custom back piece from her. They’d been talking about it for a few weeks and now were finally getting to it.
“You ate and have water right? You know you gotta take care of yourself for this.”

Elsa was happy to see her gift made the little girl so happy and excited. She smiled at Rensying and nodded.
“Yes I am a magician and I did all of this. For you, Rensying. Happy Birthday!” As she said this, she sent a mini ice-firework into the air.
“Your papa told me you had never seen snow, so I thought this would be a nice gift for you.” Elsa then scooped Rensying’s hands in her and made it snow from her fingers into her palms.
“Snow just for you~” she looked at Hakuyuu and smiled brightly. She hoped he also liked her little attention for his daughter.
Rensying giggled, hopping in place as she watched the snow and ice. When it snowed into her hands, her large smile somehow got even wider.
Tumblr media
Hakuyuu watched from a short distance away, smiling wistfully as he took in the whole scene. When Elsa looked to him, Hakuyuu bowed his head in thanks to her. This was definitely the most magical birthday that his daughter had celebrated in her short near nine years of life.
Tumblr media
“Thank you so much!” Rensying cheered, throwing her arms around Elsa in a tight hug “thank you!”
“Oh, but your magoi!” she pulled back, suddenly concerned for her fellow magician “you must have used a lot! You need to rest, miss!”

She sighed a little sadly, giving a mocking pout, which slowly melted into a smirk-- hand on her hip. "Of course, I wouldn't touch you unless you invite me," her eyes roamed over his body again, appreciating his form and even the scars. The sad story behind them, but it also gave him a pleasant roughness. "It does make me wonder, what is wrapped beneath those mountain of robes."

Hakuyuu watched as she looked him over, surprisingly not feeling quite so objectified as one might assume. Regardless of her reasoning, she seemed to genuinely be admiring him.
Strange.
“A luxury that few can afford,” he teased, smirking “and a puzzle waiting to be solved. I wonder if you’ll be up for the task, my lady?”

Hakuyuu looked at the woman, watching her, before he shook his head and smirked.
“Appreciate all you like. That’s all you’ll get to do, good lady.”

“Yes I’ll be waiting for both of you then.” She nodded and waited for him to be gone before going to the garden and cracking her knuckles. “Alright let’s do this!”
Tumblr media
Elsa knew what she wanted to do, but she wasn’t sure if her magic would last long enough as her powers were limited in this world. First of all she covered the garden in snow with permafrost so it wouldn’t melt and started building snowmen. She decided to also add some ice statues : the Nokk, the horse spirit of water and the giants, but in smaller size. She also decided to create a snow salamander that looked like Bruni, the fire spirit.
After a while, she started to feel tired and sighed. So she would hit her limit soon. Well she did use a huge amount of her magic to create this snowy garden, but it was worth it. Once everything was ready, she  stood at the entrance of the garden, waiting patiently for Hakuyuu and Rensying.
The moment they approached, Elsa started to make it snow slowly.
Tumblr media
Hakuyuu looked around at the snow, ice, and sculptures. It was all gorgeous, and he developed a deeper appreciation for lady Elsa’s magical talents.
Tumblr media
Looking around, seeing all the cold and the white powder, Rensying’s eyes glittered in joy.
“Wow...” she whispered, before turning to the woman that her papa had told her about “did you do this, miss?”
The snowmen, the glistening crystal clear ice statues, the falling snow.
“It’s all so pretty!! Are you a magician, too?”

“Please do not feel bad. You did the right thing. You protected her life. You probably wouldn’t be able to live with yourself if anything happened to her while you were trying to let her discover the world.”
Elsa rests her hand on his hand and looks into his eyes. “As for the snow, I could do something about it. Meet me in two hours in the palace garden with your daughter. My surprise should be ready by then.” she winks at him, at least confident in this part of her powers.
Tumblr media
“No, I wouldn’t have,” he agreed “she’s everything to me, and I will protect her with my life.”
Her offer had him quirking an eyebrow in curiosity, but Hakuyuu smiled at the wink she gave.
“Thank you, my lady,” he nodded “I’ll be sure to do so, and I’ll leave you to your preparations.”
Hakuyuu stood, prepared to wince but blessedly moving pain free.
“Rensying and I, we shall see you then.”
Two hours later, Hakuyuu had Rensying by the hand, the girl chatting away in excitement. They arrived at the gardens, and Hakuyuu looked around for the familiar silver-haired woman he’d met earlier.

“Perhaps a form of mental healing?” It was a confusing concept to have your mind healed; even if it was a phantom healing Reina was still glad to see he wasn’t in pain anymore. It was odd that she had hated seeing people in pain, but seeing them be instantly killed was a different story.
“Can’t say I understand the feeling; you felt my skin that’s normal for me and clinging to something that’s warm makes me uncomfortable. I wonder if that comes from the natural environment where I’m from though.” Even though the sun shone against the moon there was still little to no heat provided; not to mention when the moon turned dark then it got really cold.
“Isn’t it odd someone who is supposed to have human in them doesn’t like the warmth a human needs to survive. I wonder if that part of me ever feels the cold; not sure how to tell.” She spoke aloud though it was meant more for herself than Ren. “You must’ve been a good sibling to provide that for them though.”
Tumblr media
Hakuyuu listened as she spoke, admittedly finding her more and more interesting.
“I did my best by them,” he nodded, turning to watch the storm outside “I can only hope that Ryuu is doing well. We haven’t seen each other in...a long time.”
He missed his little brother with all his heart, and it hurt his soul to know that his baby brother was going through hell without him.
“I confess that I’m not sure if I can face him again. Our parting was...painful, for all involved.”

Elsa smiled gently at him. “I am glad it worked. I wasn’t sure I could possibly do this with my powers without seeing the scars or burns. It may not last more than today, but if it can ease you at least a little, I am happy.”
He seemed to be less pained physically at least. She would not inquire as to the other pain, knowing well it must be linked to losing a dear one.
“Has your daughter ever seen snow..?”she asked, not sure whether snow could fall in this part of Kouen’s world.
Tumblr media
“You’re a kind soul, my lady,” Hakuyuu declared, smiling “I thank you.”
At her question, His smile turned slightly sad.
“She hasn’t,” he shook his head “we’ve spent much of our time near the ocean, so she’s only ever seen it on the mountaintops. I’m afraid she hasn’t had much by way of an adventurous life, thanks to me. People were after me, and I was just trying to protect her.”

Kouha chuckled as he understood and gave away his identity.
“You’re right, we don’t need to since you gave yourself away the moment you understood~ Mission accomplished. I knew you’d tell me before I could even take you to him.” Though he would have gone as far as to bring him to Hakuryuu, he had no intention to do it right now. People didn’t think of Kouha being as calculating and manipulative as this.
“Since you confirmed my suspicions, wanna tell me what you’ve been up to all this time? I’m really curious.” Instead, the prince is taking Hakuyuu to his own chambers to make sure Hakuryuu wouldn’t meet him by chance.
Tumblr media
“You’re quick,” Hakuyuu sighed, giving a small smile “you remind me of Kouen, in that regard.
“We can speak, Your Grace, but perhaps in privacy,” he offered “I confess that talking where others can easily hear will put other people at risk, and I cannot do that, on good conscience.”
He needed to protect Rensying, especially since she still was on her way.

Morgiana slightly clenched her fists. “He has been well, though I am very worried as he allied with Judar..and he…has fallen entirely into depravity I believe.. I am sorry that I cannot give you better news..”
Maybe his brother could bring him back..if that was even possible. Could one come back? She wanted to believe there was a way.
Tumblr media
As sad as the news was, Hakuyuu wasn’t surprised.
“I fear this is my fault,” he muttered “if it weren’t for me, he wouldn’t have believed that he needed to fulfil my destiny, and hate it at the same time.”
If he hadn’t put such pressure on Ryuu...
“I’ll bring him back, if it’s the last thing that I do.”
