I love when fiction makes the audience feel guilty about their role as the audience. When something fucked up is treated as a joke but later it's recognised how fucked up it was and the audience feels guilty for finding it funny. When a character breaks the fourth wall to plead for help, and you can't do anything so you just watch. And you know that the characters pain isn't real, but they're begging for help and you're not helping because their suffering is entertainment for you
I don’t wanna hear shit about the result of this game if we go down, nobody understands the trauma of watching someone go to the ground and not get back up with an injury of that caliber and then being expected to go and play another thirty minutes. I know it’s their job and by no means am I saying play should be stopped, but let’s show some empathy and remember some things are more important than a trophy. not a single one of those girls looked okay after that and as someone’s whose near broken her neck playing football and watched a team mate break their back, it’s not something you get over easily as a first hand spectator
