I know Lexi probably take after her mom in a lot of ways, but imagine young Lexi vowing vengeance against someone over something incredibly petty. I see one of the three happening next:
1. Becky gives Tobey a death glare as he chuckles nervously since she gets it from him
2. Same as 1 but it's in response to Tobey saying "she's a chip off the old block"
3. Tobey groaning over Lexi reminding him of that time in his life while Becky chuckles.
I imagine Lexi, especially when she was young, took a lot after her dad when he was a kid much to Becky's annoyance. Lexi has quite a temper (poor girl had that stacked against her, since both Tobey and Becky can tend to snap when things annoy them lol - though in different ways). Becky's sense of justice courses through Lexi, so her temper and outcries for vengeance tend to center around when she feels her friends or family have been wronged more than when she's been wronged. But just like her dad, young Lexi makes big theatrics over it, expect an angry 5 year-old that can snap a metal support beam in half is a bit more scary than young Tobey was.
How Becky and Tobey react to these tantrums: Definitely number 1 where on the surface Tobey feigns total embarrassment and apologizes to Becky, but on the inside, he can't stop smiling at how proud he is of his daughter and how much she's like him. She's his precious angel born from the love of him and his wife. Becky as well acts annoyed but secretly finds it endearing since Lexi tends to only get mad on the behalf of others.

Fatherly advice and motherly vexation
Tobey’s definition of young love is quite different from Becky’s.

I know when it comes to how Tobey is redeemed, one idea I'm a fan of is that Tobey himself decides he wants to change. An idea that came to mind when discussing what's everyone preference for how Tobey could be redeemed in a WG servse I'm in is the concept of him overhearing his mother break down over not knowing how to help her son and seeing his mother break down like that makes him want to be better for her sake.
I think that’s a really interesting aspect I haven’t seen explored too much! Tobey’s a young, troubled kid, and he doesn’t fully understand his mother’s feelings and worries about him. When you’re that young and invested in your own sorrows, it can be hard to connect with your family.
I like to think that as Tobey is beginning to befriend Becky and decrease his robot attacks, he overhears his mom talking to Becky’s mom about how she’s grateful Tobey seems to be changing his ways, but then she breaks down and says she’s so worried that he’ll go back to villainy, and she’ll lose her son permanently leaving her alone (since Tobey’s father is no longer in the picture). This would be the moment Tobey truly sees beyond his own perspective and finally understands how his villainous actions impact those around him. This prompts him to fully commit to changing himself and proving to his mother she no longer needs to worry.
So essentially Wordgirl/Becky ignites his desire to change, but eventually Tobey takes full responsibility for solidifying the new person he wants to be.
This fanfic, Saving Tobey, touches on this. Fantastic read! Really captures the spirit of the show while expanding upon the characters in a faithful way. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves Wordgirl!

You know, while I could never imagine Tobey becoming a full on hero if he decided to quit villainy (at most he'd be Becky tech guy) the it's of him creating gadgets for the police to use do that Becky would have more free time if actually a really interesting idea. I could see a lot of the villains hating the fact that the actual police start capturing them since I'm pretty sure half of them commit crime just for the thrill of fighting WG.
I totally agree! While Becky helped pull him from villainy, Tobey's still Tobey, and I don't think being a full on hero is his speed lmao. I think the only time he himself might go into battle is if Wordgirl is in dire trouble, but for the most part, Tobey just stays in the shadows building technology to try to make the love of his life's day-to-day easier (especially as the two get older and Becky is trying to pursue college and her writing career).
I'd imagine even with the technology, it would take many many years for the police of the city to get good enough to be fully self-sufficient (especially with more powerful villains like DTB). However, even if they become nearly self-sufficient, Wordgirl still always tries to make a few special fight appearances because she too loves the thrill of fighting the supervillains :)

So how do you picture Tobey and Becky getting together? Everyone seem to have a different idea as to how Tobey changed his ways and how Becky eventually fell for him, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
Here’s a brief timeline of the biggest moments in their relationship for this Adult AU!
Inciting incident: One day after defeating his robots in battle, Wordgirl sees just how despondent and lonely Tobey truly is. She makes it her mission to try to connect with him more as Becky. She feigns to her friends she’s mainly doing it just to not have to fight robots anymore and because Tobey’s one of the only ones to truly come close to figuring her identity out on his own, so he needs to be subdued.
Friendship Building: While reluctant to bond with her at first, Tobey soon finds himself getting closer to Becky as the two connect over shared interests. Tobey’s robot attacks become less and less frequent.
Reverse Love Square: Tobey slowly begins losing his crush on Wordgirl and instead starts liking Becky, while Becky finds herself gaining some new interesting feelings towards Tobey she never expected. Even though she trusts Tobey more now, Becky still refuses to reveal her identity to him.
However, the Reveal: Dr. Two-Brains gets a strong hunch Becky is Wordgirl and kidnaps her and her family while his henchmen launch a widespread cheese attack on the city. He tells her the only way she can save everyone is to transform into Wordgirl. Being to panic, Becky’s hand creeps up to her chest; however, before she can shout her signature phrase, she hears a loud “Robots Attack!” as Tobey’s robots bust into DTB’s hideout. Tobey commands the robot he’s perched upon to free Becky and steals her away from the hideout. Puzzled yet relieved, Becky asks Tobey why he came to save her and didn’t just let Wordgirl do it. Blushing, he tells Becky, he couldn’t bare the thought of something bad happening to her, so he didn’t want to take any chances. As he watches the rest of his robots get turned into cheese by DTB, he remarks that they’ll need Wordgirl’s help to save the day though. Touched by his words and his act of sacrifice and kindness for her, Becky takes Tobey’s hand before releasing a soft, “Word Up.” Tobey sees for the first time that the loves of his life are the same person as Wordgirl dashes off to save the day.
Relationship Begins: Becky and Tobey start dating after the reveal. Tobey soon begins building gadgets and robots to help Wordgirl fight crime and make the police force more self-sufficient, so Becky can have more free time.
Adulthood: The two get married after going to college, and a few short years later, they have their daughter, Lexi. Becky becomes a writer, creating her own graphic novel series about the Adventures of Wordgirl (which Violet, of course, does the drawings for), and Tobey begins his own robotics company.
(This made me want to write a full fanfic about their story LOL I might add that on my list to do if people are interested. Love me some writing and good Tobecky moments.)

Since even as an adult she's still dealing with DTB, is a majority of her Rouge gallery still up to their old tricks or have some of them retired?
Most of Wordgirl's enemies are still active in her early adult career, with a few exceptions! Tobey of course now uses his robotic prowess to help Wordgirl fight crime instead of causing it. Chuck started his own sandwich shop and realized he likes seeing admiration for his sandwich-making skills rather than seeing jail bars. Granny May finally decided to retire as the back aches from villiany were getting to be too much.
However, as Lexi (Wordgirl's daughter) first starts her superhero career, she finds she doesn't like fighting crime much and rather focus on rehabilitating villains like her mom did with her dad. She starts with her favorite, Dr Two-Brains (who I imagine has a special place in his heart for her too- crazy grunkle vibes lol).

Future Adult Tobecky Doodles Featuring my Tobecky fan daughter, Lexi!
Headcanons:
Becky and Lexi adore watching Pretty Princess together. The show still seems like trifle to Tobey, but he’s happy his girls are happy.
Sleep-deprived young mom Wordgirl sometimes grabs the wrong partner into battle. (Lexi just loves being along for the ride).
Tobey repurposed his old battle bots into nursery bots to give him and Becky a break from baby Lexi. For once in her life, Becky actually loves those machines.
And Becky is taller than Tobey and more muscular than him ;)
Let me know your thoughts and if you’d like to see more! I’m on a Wordgirl kick rn lol
