Not a great favorite of mine but as it recedes in history I cut it some slack. My uncle (whose inventory of great cars that ended up at the crusher would make any collector cry in his beer) traded in far better vehicles for a used 49 Cosmopolitan convertible. I have no fond memories of it. About 1955 he decided to get married and needed to dispose of the 49 (another so-so trade ?). It then spent a short period in our driveway awaiting a buyer. My father spent sometime twiddling with it in the process learning how automatic chokes worked. Told he could use it when and if he liked one he chose one Sunday morn to drive it churchwards to retrieve my sisters from Sunday School shocking me who was walking home as he drove past. He never drove it again or had a good word for it, either.
