The Iron Brotherhood

The Iron Brotherhood marks my return to Tales from the Library, a series based on The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman. The first six stories featured the mysterious Count Lecerf. The Fae had somehow managed to create magical illustrations in novels that acted as portals to other worlds. The sixth story, Merlin's Cave brought the collection to a resting spot. At that point, I took a break from writing the tales. But recently, Irene and Kai visited my writing cave, insisting that the adventures were just getting started. I hope you like what we came up with!

And she keeps putting herself in these situations she knows will break her heart even more. She helps Irene, she trusts her and she does her best to make her look at her one last time, but Irene is always looking at Kai and she knows. She knows there's no space for her there.

gotta be honest, bestie, in my ideal world it's a tragedy with no second chance 😔

I think Irene loved Bradamant for a really long time, but after getting her heart broken and a keeping her distance, she just resents her. Until they have to work together and Irene learns how to be in the same space as her, but never loves her again.

Bradamant, on the other hand, falls more and more in love with Irene, knowing that she had a chance and that she fucked up <3
