EVERYONE IS SMILING. Everyone is having a great time! Dick knows what it's like to be disliked. His work isn't very widely popular, and thus not widely popularized. He also knows that, when it comes to people like Josephine and Shilah (and Roman), being liked does not matter. They're—well—not white noise. But they're just pieces, really.

"Please, call me Richard. Dick, preferably." Imagine being so evil and old-timey that you prefer being called Dick over Richard. He extends his hand. This gesture will wait between them, unwavering, until it is reciprocated.

there is not a moment where he lets his pleased, content expression fall from his face. too many years he has become accustomed to doing this; a song and dance that he had learned well, the final number quite often ending with his teeth in his partner's throat.

but there is displeasure in knowledge of roman; interest, even. he can handle a little digging; he does not want any digging into either josephine or roman.

" i can't say i've heard of you at all. " he does not reach out his hand for a greeting. " dr hayes? big interest in philanthropy? "

OH, HOW VERY CHIVALROUS. Shilah smiles, all teeth; Dick grins without his canines, tight-lipped.

With Dick standing at six-two, Josephine and Shilah look very, very small. Dick knows better than to underestimate—knows even some of the littlest Wolfgang soldiers pack the hardest punches—but this does serve to briefly amuse him.

"We are," Dick interjects, despite the lack of Shilah's attention on him as he asks. "We were. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I've only heard good things. It's only a shame your husband couldn't attend, Mrs. Bragin."

he has not disappeared. while the party does bore him, he's left her side to get to a quieter part of the room, sip a drink and listen, the best way to use his own ears to gather information. his focus naturally drifts back to her, just out of caution. ( the conversation is irritating. grating. he's moving back around with his upper lip curled, ready for a fight. )

she can manage. but still, he bares his teeth in a wide smile, head over her shoulder.

" the best company. " he places a kiss to her cheek, feigns ignorance of the other man. " having a good chat? "

"It's a charming story," he says warmly, meaning it more than she means anything she's said so far.

"Mr. Antùnez, he's very well-known, yet little indicia of his existence are publicly accessible. You know—through Google." Like his investigative efforts are ever so banal.

"And you—you're quite the mystery. One just wonders! They must. A natural curiosity is an important thing to have."

17: what are some of the signs that your muse shows their care/love without saying they love/care about their partner?

shilah is capable of grand gestures. they're easy for him to do; to order the flowers, to get the flight booked, to buy this or that. when it's more of the small things that he does -- when he starts walking josephine home from the diner, when he calls her after his meetings. the big indicator is when he is willing to try and be just a little bit better of a person, even if it's not obvious at first. the question comes slowly -- what would she do? what would she want?

18: how does your muse feel about marriage? would they ever want to get married?

shilah has been married once, and that ended in tragedy. he didn't think it would happen again, but when he fell in love with josephine, and in turn with roman, he knew he wanted to make some kind of commitment to them that was lifelong -- their life, and whatever that meant for his.

4: does your muse find any specific features particularly attractive?

roman. in relation to josephine, he could tell you multiple things that he finds attractive about her. he will admit with much prodding that he likes her hips and thighs, and if asked about shilah, his hands and his smile.

shilah. for josephine, her laugh and the gap in her tooth. for roman, his eyes and his blush. before them, he would notice similar things about people like that that would make them attractive to him.

8: is your muse a good kisser? are they experienced or inexperienced?

ridley. average, experienced. depending on his mood he can push things a little fast, simply because he craves the closeness and has the fear of being pushed away. if he has time and feels safe, he can up the average to an excellent -- but with alex, they would have a lot of work to go to get to that level of intimacy.

14: what traits does your muse want to avoid when it comes to choosing a romantic partner?

roman & shilah. since neither of them were dating in the traditional sense, they weren't thinking about what to avoid. shilah should have avoided anyone who aged, because he knew what would happen; but he didn't. roman should have avoided josephine, working for shield, but he kept pursuing it. so if there were traits -- and shilah and josephine were two red flags starting out to begin with -- they would have ignored them anyway.

18: how does your muse feel about marriage? would they ever want to get married?

ridley. ridley is seething with jealousy about isabel getting married first. yes, he would love to get married, to have and to hold, because he has seen his parents and what it can be both good and bad. but he also knows that commitment makes people head on out, and he's not ready to also even commit himself to dating.

24: is your muse proactive in communication with their partner(s), or is this something they need to work on?

roman. the irony is that roman is very good about encouraging communication. if he senses that there is an issue with either josephine or shilah, he is good about being sensitive to their problem, opening them up, but when it comes to communicating his own issues, he tends to be silent about them.

shilah. while much work has been done between him and josephine since they met, he can still be petty when there is an issue, or he will simply disappear and make the matter worse. 0/100.

28: would it bother your muse if they had differing interests from their partner(s), or would they delight in it?

ridley. much like his mother and father(shilah), ridley loves to match wits and has to have someone to keep him on his toes, so he would rather have someone who had different interests, and someone who was smarter on different topics. ( and while ridley loves to dress well, he doesn't know a thing about fashion. )
