Some of my favorite tea’s
Vanilla, lavender, jasmine (the classic)
Anise, vanilla, blood orange, cinnamon (should end up just like dragons blood incense)
Lemon, mint, honey (really good iced on a hot day)
Black tea, rooibos, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom (it’s just masala chai but I mix it instead of buying it pre mixed)
Thyme, ginger, honey, lemon, turmeric, and just a tiny bit of cayenne (this one will help with congestion)
Apple slices, honey, cinnamon, cloves, orange peels (for the holidays)

adults are always talking about how “kids will do anything to get out of school” and okay, first of all that’s not true, but I think we really need to ask why that idea holds so much sway.
children’s brains are hard-wired to take in new information and acquire new skills. consider, for a moment, just how thoroughly our society had to fuck up the concept of education for it to be a normal thing to assume kids are universally desperate to avoid learning.

this is a way better model... you'll still get transphobic & intersexist drs of course but i prefer this to male / female or even having separate questions for gender & sex.
[we can't see the full form, but i'd suggest having a "something else" option and dominant hormone question too.]

As a Jew I wholeheartedly believe that, folks who are pretending nothing is wrong and Palestinians aren't being murdered every day would have absolutely ignored the Holocaust and let my folks get killed without blinking an eye.
Americans have a lot of heroic fantasies about what they would have done during the Holocaust or chattel slavery, and the answer for a lot of them is absolutely nothing. They would have complained about the people actually doing things for being too disruptive. We Jews did the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, and they would have called this terrorism. They would have also complained about MLK and Malcolm X, the former of which took the economies of entire cities hostage. Modern day disruptions don't hold a candle to historical disruptions.
In a two of more decades, people are going to use excuses like "I didn't know!" or pretend they were supportive all along, making tear jerking films about the Palestinian plight. We need to not let them do this.

the way you decolonise missionary work is by not doing missionary work

After that post that was going around yesterday about how to ‘banish a narcissist,’ I think this needs to be said
If you think narcissist is just another term you can use for self-centered abuser, or stars forbid use the term narc abuse, then get away from me. Unfollow me. Block me.
Narcissism is a personality disorder. A real actual medical issue.
The amount of stigma people with npd face is killing these people. Stigma that use of the word narcissistic in place of abusive or self centered is actively contributing to.
Anyone with any disorder or disability or illness can be an abuser, but you don’t see people going around saying terms like ‘anxious abuse’ or ‘adhd abuse’ even when anxiety can cause someone to lash out and hurt others and adhd can cause inattentive neglect
You can just say abuse. You can say self centered.
Do not throw people with npd under the bus. Do not use your trauma to justify ableism and sanism.

my apologies if this has already been posted here but im sharing this. here is what someone said on twitter along w this image:
the central image text reads: “@everyone I HAVE BEEN RELIABLY INFORMED GUARDIAN JOURNALISTS ARE SNOOPING AROUND ASKING FOR TRANS PEOPLE TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT DIY HRT. THEY ARE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FOR UNDER-18S DOING DIY. SHOULDN'T NEED TO BE SAID, BUT DO. NOT. ENGAGE. SPREAD WIDELY. DO NOT ENGAGE. WE NEED THIS NOTICE SPREAD OUT VIA EVERY GRASSROOTS SUPPORT GROUP AND SOCIAL CIRCLE IN THE COUNTRY.
URGENT. IF THEY GET EVEN ONE TO TAKE PART IT BECOMES A NATIONAL CONVERSATION. TOP ALERT.
Guardian journos are apparently asking trans people about DIY. Trans followers: DO NOT SAY ANYTHING TO THEM. NOT A WORD.
I also know I’ve got cis mutuals who have written for the Guardian. Please know I’ve always thought less of you because of that.

"the older you get, the more conservative you'll become" is definitely a saying informed by a different time. boomers may feel this way because the ones that were afforded economic security in their lives became more and more affluent as time went on
me, a feral millennial, become more and more left wing as time goes on. as i approach forty, i realize more and more how much capitalism is detrimental to life and our mental well being. all of the things we need to live and thrive are kept behind a paywall.
we are meant to relax and live in the moment and be in community far more than we are allowed, and this is one of the main reasons we are in the middle of a mental health crisis
(that, and, you know, the capitalist model of social media that preys on economic insecurity by creating avenues of radicalization that have led to a rapid increased support of fascism around the world)

Please stop using disabilities you don't have as comparisons.
I saw a video trying to explain that autistic people don't make eye contact because it can be painful for them (good, this is true) and telling them to "just do it anyway" is ridiculous, saying "you wouldn't tell a wheelchair user to "just walk, its better for you" so don't tell autistic people to just make eye contact".
But people do. They do all the time. It's well documented that doctors will withhold their ok for patients to get a wheelchair (which is needed unless you're paying out of pocket, because insurance and most public disability services like the NDIS need proof from a doctor). I've known people who can hardly walk and are having to fight because the doctor still insists it better for them to walk, even if it's painful and sevearly limiting their quality of life.
Then in the comments, someone pointed out that people do say that to wheelchair users (good, this is true) but then continued on by saying "unless you just don't have legs" which is just as bad as the origonal.
I had to fight to get my first wheelchair as a double leg amputee, and every wheelchair since then I've had to justify not wanting the "better option" (prosthetics) to the government so they'll approve me for the funding. Doctors and even strangers too, all want to know why I'm not walking, why I'm not using prosthetics all the time. When I go on trips with my family I'm told to "just walk" so they don't have to pack my wheelchair. at my own graduation from university I was chastised by the organisers for not bringing my prosthetics (because wearing them was exceptionally painful back then and i hadnt worn them in nearly 3 months. I had asked before if this would be ok. they knew) because the venue was accessible but not the part of the venue the graduates were in. On the topic of university they also put my class in the only non-wheelchair accessible room and held meetings i was expected to take part in, in the non-accessible lunch room. When I complained, I was told to just use my legs for a few minutes so I could get into my classes. Being an amputee with no legs didn't shield me from these experiences either, it often made it worse.
I have all 3 of the disabilities mentioned (autistic, wheelchair user, amputee). If you don't have the disability you're using for a comparison, don't use it. Please

Everytime someone repeats the myth that trans men can’t reclaim tranny because it was a word coined by trans women and trans men never used it back then makes me realize they don’t think trans men are part of the trans community. Because there’s so much documented proof of trans men in the 80s/90s calling themselves tranny, existing in spaces with trans women, people using the term to apply to both trans men and trans women as a show of unity.
Sometimes people think trans men just sat around and did nothing for the trans community. And I’m getting kind of annoyed with it.

I used to make random queer positivity posts and got harassed for it to the point where I felt like there wasn’t any point anymore. Especially in lesbian tags.
That’s kinda fucked up.
TERFs seem to frequent the tumblr lesbian tags a lot.
Anyway, all kinds of lesbians are good. Trans lesbians, ace lesbians, aro lesbians, oriented aroace lesbians, bi/pan/mspec lesbians, nonbinary lesbians, he/him lesbians, they/them lesbians, neopronoun lesbians, lesbians of color, disabled lesbians, intersex lesbians, polyamorous lesbians, and lesbians who have had relationships with men in the past that were positive despite not experiencing attraction to men and are struggling with their identities or whether or not they’re “allowed” to consider themselves homosexual now (you absolutely are).
You’re loved here.
