Funny how the people who celebrate death claim to have the moral high ground.

I contemplated whether or not to post these. These are not the worst ones I got, this is literally just 4 picked out of 95 messages I got, but it just goes to show this is not about liberation—the glee some people feel during an actual humanitarian crisis because they deemed the victims “bad.” Y’all are so excited about dead Jews, even when they’re not Israeli. But like what a joy you have antizionism to hide behind so you won’t get called antisemitic!

The anti-semitism on the internet today is so soul-crushing. I want Palestine to be free. My heart breaks for the Palestinian cause and I abhor the Israeli government’s actions.

But I’m so tired and sick from seeing so called “progressives” celebrate the “resistance”. Hamas is not Palestine. We’re talking about innocent Jews being murdered, tortured and raped.

I’m so sick of being asked about Israel every time my Jewishness comes up.

I’m so sick of Jews being held to a standard for Israel that white Christians aren’t for their colonial governments.

So if you’re celebrating today, just say you hate Jews and want us to die. Just say it. I’m so sick of the veils of anti-semitism.

Hamas wants to kill Jews. Hamas wants to kill LGBT+ people. Hamas targets women and children.

So many of you think you’re supporting a just cause, but how do you think it feels to scroll on every social media and see support and celebration of a massacre of your people? To see the justification of it?

If you’re about to post something supporting Palestine today, please listen: I know you may have good intentions, but it feels like when something horrible happened to you and then someone posts, “well, this is why you deserve it.” You can support Palestine and pray for Palestinian safety, but please include your empathy and support for Israeli civilians who didn’t want any of this war. Please be mindful before you post today of how it will affect your Jewish friends and family.

You can be pro-Palestine without involving anti-semitism. Please use your empathy and be thoughtful.

At least one thing I’ve seen come out of this are more people are finally putting their foot down. Hard to say if it’s individual’s who are usually too afraid to or if this has been what’s pushed more people side more with Israel. A bunch of Twitter posts were people are basically saying not to mourn the dead or speak out about the evils of Hamas because “Israeli government bad” have their comment sections full of people calling them inhumane monsters. Before most would let them get away with saying their propaganda with maybe one or two people saying otherwise.

It is a good thing that people are finally speaking out against the de-humanization of Israelis and the justification of the atrocities we have witnessed here.

I'm going to admit, I'm still afraid. Because these atrocities are actually not new. We've never experienced them on such a scale, but the horrors of the suicide bombers who were slaughtering Israeli citizens in waves of terror attacks during the 1990's and the early 2000's did not happen that long ago, yet look at the mass distortion of this conflict happening over a roughly short period of time. The repeated terror attacks and war crimes perpetrated against Israelis and, before the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, against Jews living in the Land of Israel, have been wiped out of the collective mainstream memory, allowing for a vilification of Israelis, which results in people openly doing stuff like this:

I am scared that this effect is momentary, and at the same time I am hoping that my fear will be proven unjustified. Let's pray together that people won't soon forget this.

just saw the video of the israeli teen girl being kidnapped into gaza strip and i’m trying so hard to hold back tears. she was covered in blood, her clothes were ripped and this monster of a being just pulling her hair, humiliating her. i feel so bad for her family who has to find out from social media that their girl has bred kidnapped. i’m feeling so bad for this girl that she has to go through this hell on earth. god please just make this stop
