another volunteer at the cat shelter was telling me that the trick to socializing feral kittens is not to look at them because "if you don't show them your eyes they don't feel threatened" and i couldn't help but think of angels interacting with humans in the same way

ugh, tell me why these past couple weeks have been so unmotivating and busy to work on Fruits. the chapter is already written. it’s just editing it and sending it out to betas and writing the next chapter that has me like 🫠

16. I have quite a few, so I’m sorry if this took a while to get posted:

Vera by @whump-tr0pes is a bit older, but a classic. If you like lady whump, intimate whumpers, and classic conditioning, you’ll probably enjoy this one

Cling to Me by @sowhumpshaped has been a recent favorite of mine. If you like lady whump and religious cult settings, but aren’t really in the mood for physical whump, then this one is for you!

The Rare Bookseller by @oliversrarebooks is a period piece with hypnosis (God, I love hypnosis) and vampires, so if that’s your thing, go read it!

Mister Lockwood’s Daughter by @torture-themed is another period piece, but it involves a doctor being forced to care for this man’s sick daughter, and it’s really fun

Secrecy by @doomeddestination was a fucking delight. Every chapter in the main series had suspense and was wonderfully written. Highly recommend this one if you want a quick-paced series about a spy being subjected to ten days of torture

6. I like defiant whumpees, but specifically funny defiant whumpees. I don’t know. I love a character who can quip, and who best to do it than someone about to get their ass handed to them?

7. I like emotionally neutral, in-control whumpers a lot, specifically intimate ones. almost like they’re bored of what they’re doing? but they still feel this innate attraction (not necessarily romantic or sexual) towards their whumpee, and that’s what keeps them going

20. I’m having a pretty good day! got some books at the book store and ate lunch at the mall, and got to see my dog I had to rehome :)

What whump content are you currently craving?

religious whump (like cults and where religion is used to whump a character) and lady whump, but I also friggin love hypnosis and drug whump, whatever really fucks with the mind. they say write what you love 😅

#I’m referring to two different WIPs here #one that’s currently being worked on and one that’s on the back burner (and may not be published online since it’s not that whumpy)

How and when did you discover the whump community?

I discovered it through tumblr in, I want to say early 2020, maybe early 2021? as a branch off from a writing blog I was following. Vera by @whump-tr0pes was the first whumpy fic I’ve ever read, so it holds a special place in my heart because of that

You know, I think I’ve originally said emotional and psychological whump, but I’ve had a lot of fun reading and writing physical whump lately. It’s faster-paced. Like, psychological whump is my tried and true, but I’m kind of drawn to physical whump right now
