One word: Complicated.

Honest to god, I mean, yeah, Hiram wants to build a prison in Riverdale. I’d get mad at that too. I don’t get what’s so lucrative in building jail cells, but hey, who knows what’s running in Hiram’s head. Although I’m so excited to see Hermione doing her thing, politics and manipulation and all that. Go get ‘em, mama Lodge.  What I’m really interested in is Chic Cooper’s life. Who is he? What’s his back story? Please tell me that whole cyber gigolo thing isn’t all that he is.

As for Polly, good god, get out of Riverdale! Get the hell out with your twins before it’s too late!! She has the right idea. Go to San Fransisco before everything spirals down into hell. You are too pure for this town. 

And the Blossoms. It’s Cheryl vs. Penelope. And i’m rooting for Cheryl, obviously. And Toni. Omg, I love love love them. I hope Toni stays in this show for a long time.  I think Riverdale is setting up for the core four to split up into two. It’s bughead vs. varchie. I can’t blame Veronica for follwing her parents, though. They’re her parents.

Riverdale 2x14

Okay, so this episode was... a little weird. I feel like it was a filler episode. If anything, the major issues tackled were about Mayor McCoy and Sheriff Keller, and Cheryl dropping her own bombshell.  But regarding the core four? Not so much. Then again, they could’ve really used their vacation. They have been through too much in thirteen episodes. They needed that weekend. I like that they finally discussed that Barchie kiss, and Jughead using ship names struck me as adorable and actually a little funny. His and Veronica’s logic for kissing is at best... acceptable, but their characters are teenagers and sometimes teenagers make questionable decisions. I’m a teenager myself, and I know that to be true. And tbh, Dark Betty still isn’t doing it for me. Regular Betty is awesome enough on her own.  But maybe Dark Betty can go up against creepy Chic. He creeps me out. He creeps Jughead out. I love that Juggie’s all protective toward’s Betty, but he’s always been that way, so my Bughead heart is ALIVE.  Overall, this episode is actually pretty light compared to the others, maybe, as preparation for the shit that’s going to come in the next few episodes. It’s the calm before the storm.  P.S. I really like the whole scene in the cinema. It feels good to see Kevin in my screen again. Speaking of Kevin, boy gotta stay away from Moose because he’s been lying to him and Midge THIS WHOLE TIME  P.P.S. I can understand why Cheryl is disgusted with her own mom. I would, too, if my mom started screwing around with men in our own home. That’s downright disgusting.  ALSO, CHERYL AND TONI CHERYL AND TONI

Riverdale 1x13: The Sweet Hereafter

I was wrong to think this had a happy ending. 

First, I want to talk about the Blossoms first. Mrs. Blossom is obviously in a state of denial, to the point of her pushing her own daughter away to brink of almost taking her own life. Thank God she didn’t, because without Cheryl Blossom, Riverdale is going to be a whole lot less interesting. I love how Cheryl torched their house. This really marked the beginning of a whole new chapter for them. Literally going to start out of nothing. I hope Cheryl still gets whatever lipstick she uses, though. I mean, she burned everything. I don’t think she saved anything from her stash. Her ruby red lips are ICONIC. 

Although, in season 2, I think that they wouldn’t be so much in the forefront as they were this season. Sure, they will still be a force to reckon with, they will still need to sort out serious issues, but the main spotlight isn’t going to be on the Blossom family anymore.

Next, on to the Coopers. Like the Blossoms, I think that this family will be taking a small step back next season. They will still have some shining moments, like, when Polly gives birth, and what’s in store for her, Mama and Papa Cooper and how they’re running the register and handling Betty and Jughead’s relationship. 

BETTY AND JUGHEAD. Man, I was so god damn happy when they finally told each other “I love you’s”, even if it was obvious whole season long. Sometimes, it’s really sweeter when you hear the words straight out of your lover’s mouth.... and all the more heartbreaking and soul-crushing when you can clearly see them in a crossroads. Everything changed when Jughead put on that Serpent jacket. It’s obvious that he’s torn about it; but FP Jones was right... he does have darkness within him, and I really, really hope that his love for Betty and his friend will be enough for him to restrain the call to become a Serpent. Or it can be the other way around; he could be the one who ultimately proves the Serpents’, and his father’s innocence by the end of next season and become a town hero. Of course, he does this with Betty’s help. For season 2, they might not be as perfect as they were this season; I’m definitely expecting a lot more Bughead angst coming our way and I’m staying positive that they’re strong enough to face whatever challenges comes their way. They’re Betty & Jughead; they’re soulmates. They’re endgame. 

Sidenote: HOTDOG HAS MADE AN APPEARANCE!!! YES!!! 

Next up, the Lodges. Contrary to the Blossoms and the Coopers, I think the Lodges will be up on stage in the coming season, now that Hermione has shown us her dark side and now that Hiram’s finally coming home. There’s a lot of tension going around, and it’s definitely going to be a rougher road for Veronica this time. I just pray she doesn’t get too caught up in the middle of the crossfire and end up in a very bad state. Considering the circumstances, her relationship with Archie is going to be strained too, since obviously, her mom will get tied up in this mess because of the whole “we’re buying you out” thing with Fred Andrews and the latter getting shot in the final moments of the finale.

Lastly, Archie. Poor, sweet, innocent Archie. Let’s face it: while he may have not been a huge factor most of the season, this time around it’s going to mostly be about him; I mean, he could end up losing his dad, first and foremost. Next, his girlfriend’s parents might be behind this (or not), and nobody knows. His best friend may or may not turn into a Southside serpent. That’s a lot for anyone to take. Maybe there’s going to be a lot more Archie/Betty moments next season, considering the fact that they’re best friends and all, and they have to stick together in times of crisis, which will probably cause more problems within the core four (or core six, counting Kevin and Cheryl). I just want my baby Archie to be happy, okay? =(
