In the argument of whether Elain belongs in the Night Court or not, one of the points I hear is “she cannot/does not want to leave her family behind”, but like, isn’t that what we all do when we get married/find love? We leave our families to make our own. Isn’t that what Elain was going to do anyway with Greyson? She was going to leave with him and go away. Isn’t that what Feyre did with Tamlin? She left the human lands; against her will, true, but then she came back. So why is this ok for Feyre and not Elain? And then Feyre left with Rhys and stayed with him, away from her sisters. And like, Isn’t winnowing also a thing…a thing her mate can do? She can go back whenever she wants.

Stop coddling Elain. She said it herself that she wants to travel and fill the world with gardens.

It’s not a strong argument is all I’m saying.

@melphss thought this quote from Elain in ACOWAR reminded her of a quote from Jane Eyre so I attached both of them. I thought it was a lovely correlation.
