I really enjoyed working on this diptych, all of the ornaments and a bit more simplistic style than usual gave me that flowing inspiration to finish it :') (also Hoizer's songs are amazing I love him)

Do you have any tips for painting realistically looking/shaped warrior cats? I noticed you do it quite well and I wanted to see if you had any advice for someone who wanted to start honing that style for funsies bc it looks super epic

the most important thing to do is to figure out the placement of different features and the relations of their proportions (cuz if you don't do that, your cats are gonna look very wonky, trust me). in order to do that you should break down all the anatomy (especially the muzzle features) into the simplest forms imaginable, blocking out the fur as separate general forms (i would advice you to do that with every piece using the cat photos as references. i mean you should always use references, it will imrove your art significantly!) after establishing general forms, you will basically just define the fur and all the silly eyes and noses using your references. additionally i would advise you to be confident and loose with your lines and to study the way the fur "flows" and paint all the marks accordingly to that flow
