Eden: God I despise Sebastian as a character, but the dynamic of a go-getter fashion designer bringing him to his knees is what makes this ship so interesting for me.

Punished to a few years in the human world, Sebastian finds himself pursuing the depths of human intrigue, trying to understand why their dull lives are the source of wonder for other demons. Under the guise of a museum educator, he plagues Nina’s ears as she wanders around the great halls, as she tries to gather inspiration for her own works and designs. Even at her own shop, she simply just can’t escape Sebastian when he visits as a supposed purveyor of high fashion. 

Fate seems to change for the two when Sebastian’s boredom leads him to take interest in Nina’s defiant attitude. Curious as to why she isn’t so willing to give into his temptations, he can only manage to charm her into a date. Even then, Nina’s own stubbornness won’t bring her to bed with him - instead, Sebastian finds himself enamoured with the thought of a challenge. Under the pretence of ‘getting to know’ her, he decides to spend what he can of his human life attempting to understand her. Mortal beings come and go, but at least Nina seems to find some value to her measly life.

Voracious and unquenchable, Sebastian finds her ambition fascinating. Of course, she can’t let a friend be privy to her upcoming designs, but watching Nina work is enough of a show for him. Still he remains distracting, lover or not, he’ll whisk her away from her desk and off to the bedroom. Just for a little relaxation. Then within an hour or the next, she’s up again! Not even a demon can tear her away from her work with all his effort. 

Nina sees Sebastian as the ultimate challenge. He just happens to be a man with “the traditional taste of her grandfather” and his proportions are ‘awkwardly perfect’, almost vitruvian. Having him as a dress up doll, or rather, a test subject, tests Sebastian’s patience to it’s ends. She may work efficiently, with measurements and tacking done with ease, but what makes it even more tiring is how she’ll ring him in the dead of night or the early hours of the morning. He might not need sleep, but even a demon like him needs a moments rest at times as well.

A relationship with a stock standard man like him would have the tabloids leeching onto Nina if she were found out, hence why she never officially calls him a partner of sorts. Friends with benefits may have been the more accurate term… if only they weren’t together so often. Sebastian fabricates plane tickets to join her on all her fashion ventures, only passing himself off to those who question as a guide or translator. He can’t join her at every show she features in, but he’s sure to take her around the best sights possible. Of course, it’d be an insult for him to offer to pay for any gifts, but at least he can continue to buy her heart with exquisite food. 

Nina is not an idiot. She’d easily figure out that something was more than strange with him. Of course, there’d be absolutely no valid reason as to Sebastian’s seemingly open schedule despite a full week job, or anything to explain his bank account either. She wouldn’t find out through pestering about him but rather… on accident. In their most heated argument thus far, Sebastian’s true nature reveals itself in his rage. Like any rational human, she runs away from him.

Sebastian has prided himself upon hundreds of years acting like a gentleman. To act so unbecoming of himself and let his temper out on him was far too disgraceful! Yet, his own pride forbids him from seeing her. 

He hopes that Nina reads the letters he sends her, his thoughts and feelings muddled within poetry and similes - he could’ve been writing in a different language for all anyone cared. Maybe, he thinks, it’d be better to let her live her own life, but Sebastian doesn’t think he can find anyone else in this lifetime that would be as interesting as Nina. No. He wouldn’t be able to find someone in his own life time that could make him feel such emotions ever again.

The two eventually make up… when Sebastian loses patience. Nina despises men without a spine for themselves. When Sebastian visits her shop again, the exchange only comes out as “took you long enough”. Showing up with lavish gifts doesn’t buy her forgiveness, but his willingness to make amends does. Maybe, having a demon as a partner is too strange to put into words, but it’s definitely… not unwelcomed.

Hcs of ciel and Joanne friendship :3

Merc: Petition to make Editor K’s dream of getting Harcourt on a cover realised. He deserves more love!

Joanne’s always been thankful for Ciel’s bravery - someone who could just appear at school and take down a bully like Maurice is the kind of person he’d like to be. Like a moral exemplar to him, Joanne looks to his underclassman with hopes to eventually emulate the values that Ciel does. Ciel on the other hand appreciates the thought, but would rather… Joanne didn’t proclaim him as a hero to others.

Unlike the overwhelming majority of students who seem to flock to Ciel, Joanne is one of the few people that Ciel holds genuine respect for. Despite Joanne’s equally high birth, he’s willing to put in all the effort that he can. Of course, Ciel can’t exactly lecture him on how his fragility will get him trampled over, but he’s willing to support him of all people just a tiny bit more.

There are few people that can speak intelligently about business and Joanne happens to be one of them. Not only does he come from a noble family but they happen to own a bespoke millinery - a hat store. Ciel doesn’t take much time with others to explain the functions of business, but having a receptive conversationalist like Joanne who doesn’t sit there blankly helps him to formulate his own business ideas. Maybe, they both say, they’ll work together in future.

Joanne doesn’t enjoy chess so much but is more of a fan of card games, since they’re better on the go. The two never play alone but with bigger groups, and it’s become pretty much everyone’s goal to beat Ciel - a literal games master. Ciel’s never gone easy on anyone but Joanne is one of the few people at school that he recognises as having the capability of beating him. It just hasn’t happened yet.

The two don’t exactly ‘study’ together, but read in each others’ presence. Joanne’s quite a deep philosopher when he gets hypnotised by a book. Very few times will Ciel visit the Harcourt estate, only for the two of them to hide in the study the whole time, practically sermonising to each other the matters of life and death. Only then does Joanne allow himself to be heated in an argument with someone.

If he could, Ciel would’ve at least kept contact with Joanne. Out of all others, Joanne was the only one who could manage a civilised conversation with him. Of course, there is the excuse of working with Joanne’s family business as an excuse to see his friend, but doing that would’ve only been childish satisfaction. Luckily, he has Soma and Elizabeth dragging Joanne all the way to the Phantomhive Manor to get him to take a break every so often.

Merc: I know Sen messaged you about this but it turns out that I’ll be doing this one. I guess you’d be okay with Violet, considering your url.

Gregory never took interest in conventional toys. Toy soldiers and sailboats were always bought for him but… they looked pretty ugly. Instead, Gregory’s time was occupied with repainting all the models, seeing if there was any way to save their disgusting decoration. Though his father didn’t look favourably on Gregory’s penchant towards the arts, it was still better than wasting and never playing with the objects. 

Being ‘the quiet kid’ hardly meant anything to a student of the Violet Wolf dormitory. Everyone was either deathly quiet or harsh and loud so he fit in quite well, without having to change who he was. It was a nice change of pace from his normal home life.

The white forelock in Gregory’s hair is natural. As a child, his parents were worried that this, coupled with his ‘quiet temperament’, was a sign of him being afflicted with some sort of genetic defect. Growing up, it was later realised it wasn’t anything detrimental to his actual health.

He started painting his lips to hide his deathly paleness. Of course… actual paint was a terrible thing to put on his lips - it was only until his mother intervened and helped him with cosmetics. She didn’t exactly agree with what he was doing, but it was better than letting her son poison himself.

Very few times will he willingly go out to the crowded streets of London. No other busy street charms his as much as the bustling ways of Piccadilly. In particular, he’d hide away in Hatchards where a friend of his worked. From here, he became so infatuated with the work of Honoré de Balzac that many people who question who this “girl with the golden eyes” was that was captured in a few of his works.

He picked up Cheslock as his fag because he wanted someone to do what he couldn’t. Someone more confident, who would have the ease of reprimanding someone without any hesitation. Not because Gregory was lazy to do it, but rather, he finds that he might be a little too soft to be a prefect. The first time he gave a kid a Y, they ended up bursting into tears…. Seeing that every time was definitely an unwanted fear that Gregory didn’t want to deal with.

The only time Gregory has ever shown any sort of violence was against Edgar. After pestering Gregory on and on about how he managed to make “the most enticingly beautiful berry tartlets the world had ever seen”, Gregory lost his patience and took one of the tiny pastries and shoved in Edgar’s mouth.

“If you just can’t wait to eat them, why don’t you shut up and actually eat it?”

Hi~ can I have headcanons on how Alexis courted Francis before their marriage? Good luck with this new blog!

Eden: I’m a big softie for courting headcanons. Anon, I would die for you.

Head over heels for the woman who had practically handed him his own defeat on a silver platter, Alexis knew at that moment that he would be unable to get over his love for her. Having met in his penultimate year at Weston, he was determined to be granted her hand in marriage.

To hell with all the courting rules! Books, confectionery and flowers couldn’t ever be an adequate gift that could express his love for Francis. Why, the notion of just giving her fruit seemed ridiculous. Of course… he was an avid gardener at the time and would’ve loved to gift her the ‘fruits of his labour’. 

There was only one of the typical courtship gifts that Alexis had up his sleeve. Sheet music. For hours he would force the other students to sit down with him and help him compose a piece - “something that encapsulates the spirit of a ferocious woman. A goddess!” - to which everyone was absolutely terrified of. Who knew a woman could turn Alexis into even more of a wet blanket than he already was.

Vincent caught wind of all of this. He wasn’t a very happy big brother when he heard that Alexis had the audacity to try for his sister’s hand. Vincent already graduated and a month into his time at Oxford stormed back into Weston with an hour’s worth of lecture time. 

Of course, the to-be-Head of the British Knights and the Guard Dog of the Queen at each other’s throats was terrifying for every poor soul that just so happened to be in the library at the time.

Francis on the other hand, had already gotten wind of what was happening. A friend of hers, someone in the Green House had told their sister - and gossip spreads fast in the network of upper class ladies. A song wouldn’t be enough to capture her heart, she thought. Though, he wouldn’t have liked to have frivolous jewellery or clothing either, that would just be bribery. The head of the family, her brother…. just had to deal with the fact that she was old enough to decide her husband herself.

Alexis was the only one who had dared to challenge her for her love. Too many men had come and gone. Too weak to last more than two minutes on the piste. Alexis managed two and a half, but it still wasn’t good enough for someone of his ranking. But, she had to admit that his dedication and approach to chivalry was far more admirable than brute strength.

They’d meet on nights of balls or dances. A lady wasn’t allowed to meet with another man without the company of a man so Francis always had Vincent dragging onto the edge of her skirt - adamant that he couldn’t give up his little sister to him. Of course he respected Alexis as a man - he’d seen him in college give his absolute heart into everything. He just wasn’t very comfortable with the fact that Francis was holding her fan in her right hand as she eyed Alexis carefully making his way towards them.

Francis didn’t fall in love with the amount of musical movements that Alexis wrote for her. His patience and dedication, as well as his integrity as a man - all of that she adored. Alexis was a close to a perfect man as she could get. After more than a year of courting, the marriage was finally approved by Vincent and the two married in Westminster Abbey, as per their family names allowing them.

Could you do some headcanon about Cheslock, please?

Sen: We discussed this in messages and settled on a rock band AU where his best friend is in a rival band. Thanks for sending this in

Cheslock finally broke out of his classical music training and into the rock scene. Known as one of London’s biggest rock violinists, he starts up his own band. As he tries to recruit people, he turns to his best friend, hoping that they’d know someone who’d be a good fit. It’s only then does he find out that they’ve been playing for much longer in this scene than he has. 

It would’ve been nice to have been invited before to their band but Cheslock isn’t one to mope about it. He’ll find his last member soon enough and he’ll do it fast. The thought that his friend had been hiding their passion fuels him. He wants to properly compete with them, maybe stand on the same stage with them one day - and he’s not going to get to that until he’s found his last member! 

Their relationship doesn’t change so much. Now Cheslock can take them seriously as a musician, not just someone who hid away their talents. Maybe nerding out about his favourite artists and the different techniques they use can get tiresome, but they’re already used to that from before. 

While rivalry is still a thing, he seriously puts forward the idea of a collab together. Maybe their bands aren’t too fond of working together, but Cheslock’s pretty insistent when it comes to what he wants. Besides, Cheslock’s not too fond of writing songs and only improvises so having a helping hand - or rather, someone to reign him in - is especially helpful to the rest of his band.

They’re well aware of fan drama. Not the case where everyone believes that their bands are at each others’ throats, but of people portraying their friendship like a sickening rom-com. Cheslock’d rather everyone focus on his friend’s music alone. Every interview he gets somehow ends up with a question about “a certain friend in another band” and it does tend to get infuriating.

It’s a big step up from playing in a big orchestra to a smaller group where you’re front and centre. If anything, he admires his friend for having the courage to step to the stage. Though, when he plays, he doesn’t think about anyone but his bandmates. It’s only after the show’s over will he get pumped over the thought of putting on a greater show than his friend.

AU where Finny can go to/goes to Weston

Merc: This is my first ask for the blog. I hope that I measure up to my fellow admins, thank you for sending this in!

Missing out on his childhood seemed to be detrimental to someone. Because of this, Ciel allows Finnian to go to school, pulling a few strings to get someone without a background in. Having an informant to the sons of England’s lords is useful, but with at least one of the servants educated, they’d be easier to manage around the manor. 

Finny is assigned to Green House. It’s no surprise with his athletic ability. Though, he’s been held back a year due to his literacy being behind others. Joining in fourth form and then being held back should have been the talk of many. It doesn’t bother him that much, since quite a few people in Green House suffered the same fate with the Classic-based education system so he feels much safer with his friends around him. 

Latin ends up as his best subject. As a class where he mostly listens and his knowledge of English and German already, he’s able to make easier connections. Though writing is still a problem, as an auditory learner, he’s still able to cope with the class.

Edward and Finny spend a lot of time together out of school hours. They may be in different forms but they’re still the same age, finding easy conversation in each other. To be fair, Finnian is the only one in the entire school that will let Edward give him a half hour presentation on why his little sister is the sweetest girl in the world. Finny knows this already but he’s happy to have someone as equally enthusiastic with him. 

Herman is nothing short of supportive for his underclassman. Finny’s strength is nothing to sneeze at and although he might not control it so well, Herman is with him every step of the way to help Finny learn that his strength is an admirable thing. 

The track and field society is where he spends most afternoons. Though Finny was initially nervous - having Herman practically lift him and haul him down to the track - he became the vice-chair through his sheer determination and encouragement towards the younger members. It’s his greatest relief after being released from the classrooms. 

After Weston’s scandal, Finny gets taken out of school. Ciel deemed it, “too dangerous for impressionable minds”, where Finny could have easily become corrupted by their educational propaganda. Of course there would be no choice for Finnian, but he tries his hardest to write letters to his old classmates. Sebastian was initially against the idea of keeping contact with them, but if Edward was going to be on his case every time then he’d rather not interfere.

Edward and Cheslock invite him out on occasion. Not very often, considering that it must be weird for a servant to hang out with a commoner and lord, but Cheslock says that such worries really don’t matter. Ciel lets him go out every time, but it’s actually Finny who wants to stay home. Because of that, Finnian ends up with a few visitors to play cards with every so often. The manor may be relatively isolated, but his friends from college at least take the time to see him again when they can.
