Well...we finally made it everyone...

All issues of WTWA are now (FINALLY) on AO3!!!

It's been a several years in the making but WTWA finally has one home for all the issues. I couldn't imagine when I started this that it would take this long. And, after having WTWA removed from Tapas, I've definitely had to work through a lot of negative emotions while making this move.

But it really was all worth it. To have WTWA safe and in an accepting, fan creation environment means so much.

And, to kick off this major move, I want to gift you all with TWO things.

First, a brand new issue of WTWA has been updated with the move - Issue #255.

It's been over a year since our last update so ya'll DESERVE this one.

And second, as you can see above, we have a new comic trailer!

I feel like this new trailer really gives a great flavor of both past, present, and future WTWA. I've been working on it for way too long, so I hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to message/reply with any theories. 👀

Thank you all for your kindness and patience as I worked on this major transfer. I am so happy and proud to finally have it completed.

A few anons have reached out about the AO3 issues and not being able to see all of them....

That's because the completion of the transfer hasn't been formally announced but the links have been updated in preparation for the formal announcement. Ya'll are just ahead of the game.

BUT...the formal AO3 launch is this weekend!! Just a day more and everything will be up. Plus, there will be a special way to announce it!

Ever since I was little, I've always wanted to tell stories. It didn't really matter in what format - I just wanted to tell stories. It started with multi-generational plots with my Barbie dolls that would last for days (even weeks) on end. Then it transitioned to fanfiction based on my favorite shows and AMV's to accompany them. I remember enjoying these formats even more because I wasn't only telling stories but I was sharing them.

I think that's how Welcome to Walt Academy really came about - my need to share stories.

Ten years ago on October 3rd, I posted the first issue of WTWA on Tumblr. Back then, I was so passionate and enthusiastic about the comic. I was editing as often as I could - right after my classes and into the early hours of the morning. Even then, if you had asked me if I would be editing the comic ten years later, I would probably tell you no.

But here I am.

The updates are much more sporadic now. I've tried (with moderate results) to move the comic to other platforms. I've gone through dry spells with updates when work has become excessively busy or when dealing with several health issues. In fact, I haven't posted a new issue in over a year.

But my passion and enthusiasm is just as potent as the day I posted my first issue ten years ago. I'm so happy to still be here with you all in this small corner of the internet sharing this story.

While I've been away for a year, I've been hard at work to transition the comic to AO3 after it was removed from Tapas so I can truly start engaging with this community again. My hope was to have this ready in time for this anniversary and well…I think I just might (!!).

Sooo, please stay tuned this month for some major announcements to mark this huge occasion. I know the big one is related to the issues being up on AO3 but I've got a few other suprises up my sleeve as well...

And as always, thank you. Thank you so much for your support. If you've been here since Day 1 or today is your Day 1, I appreciate you so much. Like I said before, this comic only means what it means to me because it's being shared with you. 💙💙

Do you have any plans to add more princesses into the comic in the future? (snow white, cinderella, moana.. etc)

Yes, I do!

I used to be pretty quiet about character additions because I didn't want to disappoint people with saying a character would be added and then have it be years before they actually show up.

But most people are pretty understanding. So yes, definitely will be adding some other princesses but don't have any timeline on when that will happen.

I'm so glad you're enjoying WTWA a second time around!

Right now, issues #212 through #254 are not available. They were originally on Tapas but have since been removed for copyright reasons. I'm currently working on moving all of the issues to AO3. I have around 20 issues left to transfer and then some overall editing/review before they will be ready.

I will definitely post all the information related to the move on this blog once it's completee.

Hi all,

I know when I made this post (click here), several of you mentioned wanting to provide help in the transfer process or any other forms of support.

I'm happy to say I've been able to make a lot of progress with the transfer during my time off this month. I'm now down to 60 issues left (!).

In this process, I have been able to think of two areas where assistance would be appreciated

1. Patreon Support: In transitioning the comic to A03, I needed to open a Dropbox Premium account to host all of the photos/panels now on that site. I initially tried to just use the free version to host the links but I have way too many files for that type of account. I tried to also not use links to begin with but the images were not positioned correctly with this option. If you'd like to help with supporting the monthly payments to utilize this premium account, I do have a Patreon - LINK HERE. I'm planning to utilize these funds to pay for that bill as well as some other rewards down the line. For some background, I've just restarted my Patreon from extended break and am planning a lot of new content where feedback is appreciated. If you'd like to be apart of that as well as loads of behind of scenes posts, mini comics, and more, please feel free to join. I don't have any tiers at this point in time. You can join for as little as a $1 month and get all the content.

2. Transfer Review Assistance: Secondly, if you prefer not to give monetary support, I think I will need help with some more random tasks when I'm wrapping up the transfer to AO3. This will probably involve ensuring all the issues are showing up correctly on both laptop and mobile view, helping with some descriptions, etc. If you'd be interested in helping in this process, just let me know!
