gods. it’s just been this thought i’ve had ever since i learned the bedrock was being moved down.

the bedrock is there, functionally, to protect you. the void is the only death you can’t cheat in some way, and the bedrock protects you from getting too close to the nothing. it protects you from the other side.

but now, the bedrock has been moved down, and it’s about to reveal the warden, and the deep dark cities

and i can’t help but to think — if the warden has been revealed by the bedrock,

what did the bedrock decide was more dangerous than that?

mojang ain't fuckin around with this new update but i rly fucking hope they nerf the mace a bit lmfao. it's an awesome weapon conceptually n i love it, but the breaching enchant + density enchant is so busted that you can oneshot a player in prot 4 netherite just walkin off a 5 block drop, it's insane

#they came up with this cool risk/reward weapon and then said 'how about we remove the risk'

i think terraria has a great approach to bosses that minecraft could learn from. minecraft is all about building right? so the bosses should involve this too. in the ender dragon fight you have to use what you've learned to climb up big towers to destroy the crystals healing her, which is a good first step, but there's kind of just one strategy to that, which you immediately figure out: build up.

the wither kind of just explodes stuff. it does interact with its environment in this way, but not in a particularly interesting way.

in terraria, pretty much none of the bosses are affected by blocks. they just pass through them; they don't even destroy them. but this allows you to build your own arena to fight the boss in. that's exactly the kind of thing minecraft bosses should encourage.
