my personal thoughts of course, no need to be alarmed. but ngl guys? i am mildly concerned with the direction that kpop news is going? like legitimate news reporting on scandals, insider tea and more. not just the news that reports when groups have comebacks? its giving the public has been able to see too much recently and they are trying to pull the curtain back in place. what do yall think?

small announcements: 1. i edited the paid reading post for some clarity and tone changes. but as usual if u have questions about readings ask/dm or email me and i will always answer to explain etc.

Personally I think of it as kinda like you said you have to pick and choose. However I also try to remember that if you dig far enough you’ll probably find something problematic on most of if not all of the idols ect. Plus if you cancel them then you’d have to cancel all entertainers in general both in K-pop and beyond because the chances that they have done something problematic/racist or ignorant in general is pretty high. Again It just depends on how recent it was , if they apologized/learned from it , if the behavior was repeated and how far you are willing to dig to find it . Also I don’t let that stuff stress me out / bother to much because aside from trying to educate them and not listening to their music anymore what can I as an individual who is a whole ocean away really do.

For sure. I don't let kpop stress me out one bit, especially because it's supposed to be something that I enjoy? Once it stops feeling fun? What's the point, you know? It's not a pissing match of comparing artists/groups to others, but a lot of the essence DOES come from what you personally get out of it. So I wouldn't dare tell anyone that them having expectations of their faves is invalid, it just doesn't boil down to something too simple.

unpopular opinion: idk how people reconcile being black and being a kpop fan. The cognitive dissonance must be crazy cuz it was for me. Imagine one minute ur watching a performance and then BOOM “YOUR SKIN IS DARK UR UGLY”… gang what??? Like do we just forgive and forget or we just don’t care cause we let our obsessiveness lead our behaviors?

Well it surely does depend. You just have to be willing to pick and choose who you fw and who you don't. It comes with a lot of debate as it comes to stanning/being a fan of anyone. Knowing that they're an adult, they should know better (if they even know at all), is an apology "enough" for you if you got one at all, etc. Does one bad apple spoil the batch and more. What I can say is? There are many of us who care and try to navigate the best we can in a community we enjoy. They all have their reasons for sticking with it, or leaving. 🤷

I thought about scoups as well for the solo, but also Hoshi and Dino come to mind. He barely made a splash with that solo and Dino wasn't as successful as everyone wanted him to be (the song is a bop tho).

For the seed one I think it's The8, I just barely started getting into Svt but he stands out the most as someone that is so over it and is going to built his own career (also Jun and Boo come to mind)

Yeah, Dino's stuff made me sad lol, I wish people liked it more. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Will Lucas support Yuqi?: 6oC, likely yes. Definitely because they go back.

Will Yuqi publicly support Lucas in return?: 2oW, PoC, maybe to likely yes. It seems like once it feels like the public accepted him or he has repented enough? She might feel more comfortable in showing her support for him on the low. But it seems she is more than willing to just be quiet and do so in private instead of get herself in trouble too quickly?
