i think people don't understand that animal is not a creature in the same vein as like, idk, cookie monster, but instead animal is much like the rest of the band and scooter, and walter, and any other vaguely humanoid muppets. animal is called animal simply because he's a wild character, not because he's actually LITERALLY an animal. he's overgrown with facial hair, that's for sure, but he's still a humanoid muppet underneath the hair. people just don't take time to look at him closely, i think. it also could help that he's kind of socially inept. but that's just part of his charm, methinks.
