     ehe, document updated with genshin verse . couple little notes below .

born and raised in fontaine and as such, very fluent in fontainian ( fantasy french ) . She only relocated to mondstadt after her parents were falsely prosecuted and subsequently found guilty, first within the city and some time after a lone cottage in the wilds .

trained under her parents from a young age in bladesmanship & bears an anemo vision, though it was not until after she departed from the knights of favonius that she was granted it . she received it after coming to the aid of a small party of adventurers escorting cargo beset by a treasure hoarder raid, and it is inlaid into a charm that hangs from one of the sashes around her waist !

once, she resided within mondstadt proper in the barracks of the knights ( ser angélique // ser ava of the reconnaissance company ), yet she departed from the city in the dark of night after leaving a copy of her formal letter of resignation upon both her division captain’s &. the ( acting ) grandmaster of the time’s desk . she has since taken up residence in a quaint, if a little small, home nestled away upon a cliff overlooking the falcon coast .

though her blade is no longer pledged to the knights of favonius, she still cares deeply for mondstadt, and the people therein . it is not a rare case for her home to be visited by adventurers, whether of the guild or simply wanderers, and she welcomes any into her home . she has also offered training to any who expressed interest, directly or offhandedly, especially for those interested in taking the favonius knightly examination, as she herself had passed it with high marks . among those who call themselves her students, she is referred to fondly as ‘ master ava ‘, and she in return calls them her ‘ dandelions ‘ .

especially after her departure, she is very rarely seen without her mask on and cloak - hood drawn even among those she teaches and offers her home to . it is to the point that there are even jokes among her trainees and students that she is bald, and that’s what she’s hiding since you cannot even see her hair ( no, she’s not actually bald ) . it was adopted soon after her departure as a means to avoid being seen when she enters into the city for a market trip, though she quickly grew to simply wear it at all times .

     if i go with the idea that ava and any surviving wielders from the time before the keyblade war got pulled into the realm of darkness as darkness enveloped the land according to the book of prophecies, then i just think it’d be neat if people that have been in the realm of darkness have encountered ava and / or phantasms of union wielders that perished or fell to darkness there :)

     so of course in KH3′s epilogue, luxu returns to the keyblade graveyard with the box and reclaims the gazing eye for himself, as well as calls four of the foretellers back, through some manner of rift, spatial or temporal maybe, and ava is the only one that doesn’t answer the call . luxu, at least, seems a little curious about it and writes it off as being that she didn’t make it after all .

     rather than get pulled into some temporal rift via the master or luxu’s doing during the keyblade war, or god forbid they actually died and its just luxu pulling their spirits back, ava didn’t share this fate . so either she did die whereas the others got whisked away, or perhaps she and any other ‘ survivors ‘ were pulled into the realm of darkness since that what was supposed to overcome the land, and that’s why she wasn’t able to answer the call .

     A BRIEF ( ? ) GUIDE TO AVA &. KHUx

     ( fair warning, i’m not going into the nitty gritty of all the time - traveling, data v. real world traveling because that’s a whole other can of worms that doesn’t directly influence how i write ava. also fair warning: this is A Lot(tm) )

     So! To start things off, Union Cross and all the events within pertain to the Keyblade War that occurs over 100 years prior to Birth by Sleep, in a time that was coined ‘ The Age of Fairy Tales ‘ . In this time, there was a world known as Daybreak Town that was presided over by a black - cloaked man known as the Master of Masters ( henceforth referred to as the MoM ). The MoM had forged a keyblade and upon it’s chain was his own eye, appropriately granting the keyblade the name of ‘ The Gazing Eye ‘, granting him the ability to see into the future at any point in time where the keyblade itself was also present. With this ability, the MoM would write down everything that he saw in a series of tomes entitled the Books of Prophecies.

     An important thing to note is that the MoM maintained among his apprentices that what was foretold in the Book of Prophecies was inescapable, and on the final page of the book it detailed the day in which the Light would expire and Darkness would take over the land. Even when the idea of coming together to fight against the Darkness was put forth by the apprentices i’ll mention in the next paragraph, the MoM would dissuade them from it, claiming that rather than trying to change things that would certainly come to pass, it was better to focus on how to rebuild after the events occurred.

     The MoM would go on to take under his wing six apprentices whom he would train in the art of keyblade mastery, and granted them all new names, and 5 of the 6 each a Book of Prophecy. The 5 masters who received the Books of Prophecy would go on to be called Foretellers for this reason, and were each put in charge of leading a union comprised of keyblade wielders in the fight to collect and balance Lux, particles of Light, from denizens of Darkness that were found throughout the worlds.  However, all 6 apprentices received a task from the MoM that they could not fail at, which i will detail below:

Foreteller Ira of the Unicornis Union, bearing the mask of the Unicorn. He was tasked with taking up the mantle of leadership in the absence of the MoM.

Foreteller Aced of the Ursus Union, bearing the mask of the Bear. He was tasked with supporting the new leader in the absence of the MoM, and steering him in the right direction if he should falter.

Foreteller Invi of the Anguis Union, bearing the mask of the Snake. She was tasked with watching over and mediating the other Foretellers with a fair and impartial judgement.

Foreteller Gula of the Leopardos Union, bearing the mask of the Leopard. He was granted the ‘ Lost Page ‘, a section of the Book of Prophecies that was not contained in any of the Foretellers’ copies. It detailed a traitor in their midst, and he was tasked with successfully rooting out and eliminating this traitor.

Foreteller Ava of the Vulpes Union, bearing the mask of the Fox. She was tasked to look past the unions and seek out particularly strong keyblade wielders to form a unique group. This group would be tasked with fleeing rather than fighting the Keyblade War, and would hold the seeds of Light that could flourish far away.

Luxu, bearing the cloak of the Master. He was told the truth of the Keyblade War and why the MoM needed it to come to pass, and he was given the Master’s Keyblade with his eye, a Box, and the overarching task of staying far away from the conflicts, of passing down his keyblade until such a time when it came to the rightful owner.

     So, then we get to Ava! As was instructed of her once the MoM disappeared and their searches all turned up empty - handed, she would go on to seek out keyblade wielders strong of heart, arm and emotion, capable of rebuilding after the war. Among these, were the people who she chose to carry on the foretellers’ legacy as the leaders of the unions, and were each thus given a ‘ rule book ‘, as well as one single copy of the Book of Prophecies to share amongst themselves. It should be noted that Strelitzia, Lauriam’s younger sister, was also selected to be one of the union leaders, however she was killed before all the future leaders would meet and her rule book was taken by one of the ones who did meet up in the Keyblade Graveyard after the war:

     Being a foreteller of a union as well as a keyblade master, Ava was fairly well known throughout Daybreak Town, but even then, she was considered very open - minded compared to the other foretellers she had trained alongside. Even when conflict began ramping up and hostilities between unions began to crop up, Ava would encourage her union members to see out friends no matter what union they belonged to, and frequented the town square fountain where she could mingle with the wielders.

     Of course, she was loyal to a fault, and even with the task of gathering keyblade wielders, which she had then dubbed ‘ Dandelions ‘, she ultimately did not go against the MoM’s teachings and in her belief that Luxu was the traitor due to his sudden disappearance before the MoM’s disappearance as well as his cryptic words, landed a strike against his keyblade that signified the beginning of the Keyblade War. As such, she led her union to the site that would become known as the Keyblade Graveyard and fought there against wielders and her former friends until the battlers were exhausted of the will to fight and darkness overtook the land.
