Your thoughts on Valentino and Vox's dynamic! I imagine Valentino knowing perfectly that he is just a substitute for Alastor, and he kinda likes it cause he is a sadist, so he likes that Vox is in emotional pain and the idea of being able to play with Vox and the power it gives him cause he knows it so he can use it, but also he gets annoyed sometimes cause he is possessive, so he tries to convince Vox that Alastor is not worth it - and sometimes Vox is in the mood to hate on Alastor with him, sometimes he is super protective of Alastor instead

OH YES i actually had a draft about this at one point because it is super interesting

valentino probably hates the fact that as much as he tries he’ll never be the exception for voxs guarded persona. he definitely loves to feel special in a relationship and because hes always the second choice to vox, he’ll never have that. he jokes a lot about voxs hate boner for alastor, trying to embarrass vox out of it, but it never works and most times just ends up rifting them further apart.

he likely wont admit to himself that he wishes vox would like him more because hes used to using people and now hes getting used, which is a huge blow for his ego. vox clearly could care less about him on an emotional level so he just has to provide twice as much in other aspects, which is where him being a sadist would come into play, trying to do the best he can for any sort of validation.

he enjoys seeing vox in an emotional state, but hates that he isnt the only one who can get him there, or even someone who can get him there at all. he probably leans into the sex aspect anyway because he knows that alastor would never fill that role, making him feel more unique in his relationship with vox.

he definitely has main character syndrome where he always has to be individual and do something nobody else can do, and it constantly annoys him he doesn’t have that with vox, because he’ll always be second choice to alastor.

hes in a tough spot because on one hand, he wishes vox would just forget about alastor altogether, but on the other, if he could just have more control over voxs feelings by using alastor, it could be useful to keep him around.

valentino really doesnt want to get to a place of manipulation, he really just wants to be number one in voxs mind, but manipulation is the only way he can get there without exposing himself completely to vox, whos clearly using him. he doesn’t want to put himself in too vulnerable of a place, because he knows the second hes there, vox would have no emotional attachment stopping him from just walking away.

alastor just assuming vox loves attention and after vox realizes that the feelings aren’t reciprocated he just fully plunges into that assumption, first just to recalabrate and make sure al doesn’t suspect anything weird, then he embraced it overall because it was the persona he had when he met the other veesand since it worked to get close to them, he reclaimed the idea that he liked attention and used it to his advantage as a barrier instead of a display for weakness.

i saw some headcanon (im really sorry i dont remember the @ but it was on tiktok as radiosilence hcs) saying that vox would purposely get himself drunk so alastor would have to carry him home and the rest of this rant is pretty much unrelated but i just love that idea because he totally would

anyway—

imagine alastor not picking up on anything romantic from vox (whos getting increasingly more obvious about it)

and then one day back when they were work colleagues, alastor invites rosie to go to a bar or something with him and vox.

rosie immediately spots vox’s interest because vox is asking all these questions such as: oh ahhaaha alastor you never told me you had a girlfriend…..????, to which rosie laughs off.

but, rosie and alastor are super close of course, so theyre chatting it up the whole night.

from that, vox assumes alastor does like rosie and he was brought as either a wingman or to rub their relationship in his face, so he gets all moody and quiet.

rosie notices once again because shes like way more in tune with people than alastor is.

so while alastor is happy talking with rosie and hardly even pays mind to vox, rosies like are you alright??

but vox takes it as patronizing and freaks out because he made up this entire scenario in his head where the both of them are just laughing at him

hes definitely hella drunk at this point, trying to ignore the two ‘flirting’ (as he took it) by drinking.

all the alcohol made him overwhelmed by all the noise and super easy to set off so this sort of freaks him out and he gets loud.

hes pretty much incomprehensible at this point and rosie sort of just assumes alastor made friends with a pyschopath so she kind of side eyes alastor like: hey al love you but this is your problem

alastor is embarrassed by vox making a scene and has no idea that he was even the one who started the reaction, so he physically tries to shut him up (he just kinda hits him with his microphone) and rosie tells him no dear, that wont work you got to talk to him its obvious hes jealous

thats new information to alastor so he just stares at her like jealous of WHAT exactly????

and vox is throwing a silent pathetic temper tantrum in the corner because he was hit.

then both alastor and rosie have to coparent a disfunctional vox the whole way back.

ok but

alastor and vox being close and then vox admitting feelings for alastor/trying to make a move on him. alastor caring for vox but being unable to reciprocate in the same way. valentino coming into the picture and vox immediately getting close to him to ignore the rejection embarrassment.

alastor hating valentino and wanting vox back as a friend but feels like he has no right to be jealous because valentino does more for vox (romantically/sexually) and alastor didn’t want to fill his role in that sense.

niffty’s my favorite character but the way she is mischaracterized in her own source material makes me ill

like she’s definitely feral, thats my favorite part of her, but theres such a big big difference between being feral and childlike and i feel like shes often reduced to a toddler state just to be the butt of a joke.

i want her to be insane, i want her to be off the walls, and i dont mind her being childish once in a while because i feel as though she almost regresses to avoid remembering her reality, and part of that goes into cleaning too.

but i just don’t ever want her to be dumbed down. shes a great character and it would be great to explore that regression and maybe let it go a little more so she doesn’t seem just like a small child in the group, she just seems unhinged. i really want more of her ocd tendencies and how or if that affected her life.

He overcompensates by acting like he wants Al to fuck him because that would be better than admitting weakness (he just wants a really good hug from him) (and yes he also wants to fuck him for sure but let me have this)

Alastor got scared off by Valentino, especially when Vox started picking up Val’s sex joke traits (Al would probably say some shit like ' i miss the old times we had…before Valentino…” when Vox made the third ‘that's what she said’ joke of the day)
