The MC

She would be around 25-26 yo according to Namba’s speculation in a story

Has one younger brother called Shoma

She originally worked as a police officer back in her small town, Nagano, for 3 years after graduating from Tokyo University

She used to practice kendo with her father. She was also part of a kendo club in middle school

She always dreamed of being a detective, but didn’t know she would end up in the Public Safety Division

She has multiple nicknames given to her by the Public Safety men, but back in her hometown she was known as the “Snapping Turtle of Nagano”

Is friends with her classmates Sasaki Naruko and Chiba Daisuke

According to Riko Kinoshita, MC has unusual fingerprints. She has almost “perfect concentric circles”

In Ayumu’s route, she has a special ability. She has an eidetic memory, which is extremely useful for her as a detective

Namba thinks that while she is so young, she’s an “old soul”

Hyogo Kaga

Has an older sister called Miyuki. She’s the only one he ever trusted in his family

Kaga is described as extremely handsome, and it was mentioned and shown that sometimes men also crush on him

Is very hot headed, and clicks his tongue when annoyed

He has a habit of intimidating people physically. He does his famous “Iron Claw” move to shut people up when they get on his nerves. He often does it to Kurosawa, and MC, though Kurosawa once claimed that it’s his way of showing his love to the MC when he does it to her (only in Kaga’s route), since he wouldn’t do it to anyone else. He also does a kabedon to people, but again, he does it especially to MC, this time in multiple routes. The trainees fear him because of how cruel he can be during practice and in class

Curses a lot and often throws insults at people, like “trashbag”, “worm”, “moron”, etc…

Fights a lot with Ishigami since they don’t share the same strategies during investigations and are fundamentally very different. Back when they were at the police academy, they were classmates, roommates and were always paired for training assignments but they couldn’t stand each other. They were also classmates with Riko Kinoshita

Often acts on his own on cases, which is why he and Ishigami don’t get along well, as Ishigami likes to follow rules while Kaga thinks they’re useless and a waste of his time when he could be doing his job

He loves meat, if he could, he would only eat that. He hates vegetables with a burning passion and usually gives his greens to others, especially Ayumu or MC when he eats with them. People often say he has a vegetable phobia

He loves softness. When it comes to food, daifuku is his favorite Japanese dessert. He also considers MC’s upper arms to be the perfect level of softness, and loves to touch them, especially when he goes to sleep. He also sometimes plays with her cheeks and will check if she ate well enough because he doesn’t want her to change her level of softness without his permission. He once claimed to like his women plump

He avoids sweets filled with custard, which he claims to despise. However, it’s possible that Kaga actually likes custard and only claims to hate it because Ishigami loves pudding, since MC bought Kaga a pudding once when he was sick, and he ate it without protesting. He might unconsciously like custard but will reject it because he doesn’t want to be associated with something Ishigami likes

Has a 3 year old niece called “Hana”. He loves her a lot and is very protective of her, which would surprise anyone considering how tough he looks on the outside. He is a big softie with his niece and never refuses her anything as long as she isn’t spoiled. When his sister and brother-in-law have to work on weekends, he takes care of Hana

He never got along with his dad, who’s a politician. He decided to become a police officer to arrest him and expose him. Kaga also protected his sister from their father when the latter wanted Miyuki to marry a man he’d have chosen for her. When she rejected her father’s idea and was about to be hit by him, Kaga protected her and punched him. It was the first time he hit his father

He left his parents’ house when he was about to start college. He wanted to leave the house as soon as possible because he couldn’t stand living with the bad memories associated with it

He used to work for Criminal Affairs before being a Public Safety detective. He was transferred to Public Safety because Namba said he could investigate on his own if he wanted, which is ideal for him

He used to be very close with his teammates when he was a squad leader in criminal investigations. He was especially close with a man called Tetsuo Hamaguchi. Sadly, his 3 teammates died in an explosion and Kaga was the only one who was alive on the team since he was at another location at the time

He has an amazing intuition, which is why he often acts on his own

He asked Ayumu to join his team in Public Safety after Ayumu decided to join the force. He told him he needed his brain skills. They ended up being a great match

He used to be bullied and hit by other kids when he was one himself, because of how fragile he looked. He would come crying to his sister after going back home

His sister used to read him fairytales when they were children, but since she only owned “girly” books, Kaga only knows these types of fairytales and doesn’t know about the “boyish” ones

Kaga is always early when he has a date with MC because he likes to see her look for him. Once, she arrived earlier than him on one of their dates and he was mad that she stole “his fun”

He can drink alcohol a lot without being drunk, but he’s not at Namba’s level. In the rare times he drinks too much, he falls asleep

He throws whiteboard markers at students who sleep during his class

Ayumu Shinonome

He was the youngest officer to ever be selected for the top squad

Is a genius hacker. He used to challenge himself in college with a secret hacking forum where a small community of engineers would gather to test their skills. His handle on that site was N_peach which made some people think he was a girl

He likes to tease people, like his coworkers but especially the trainees, even more when it comes to MC. He is very sarcastic and cheeky

Loves peach nectar and is very picky about the type he drinks. On the other hand, he hates orange juice. Before loving peach nectar, he used to drink coffee back in university. It's only later that he started drinking peach nectar more

He was adopted by a rich couple, Yoko and Shigeru Shinonome, after his mother passed away when he was very young. His birth name was Tsukuno. His adopted parents run Kochi Electronics, and care very deeply for Ayumu

He’s very close to the housekeeper of his parents’ house, who is called “Goldie”. He had a special signal with her at night. They would tap on the wall four times on the wall to ask "are you asleep?" and three times for "no" or twice for "yes"

The Shinonomes have a cat named Mikeko, who Ayumu often tries to approach but always gets rejected by

His bowl haircut often turns him into a laughing stock by everyone who think it’s similar to a mushroom, but he always had this hairstyle since he was a child. He takes care of his precious hair very well and gets irritated when it’s wet and he can’t dry it (because of how puffy it gets)

He was always in love with his childhood friend, Sachi. He even had a special ringtone for her on his phone. Sachi said she wanted to be a detective when she was a little girl. Since she wasn’t doing well in her studies, Ayumu decided to become one himself in her stead. He never confessed his feelings to her, and was hurt a lot when she ended up dating another man and was asking him about love advice for her relationship sometimes

After learning about Sachi’s new boyfriend when he was in college, Ayumu had a one-night-stand with a girl he didn’t know and lost his virginity to, out of sadness. He had spent the whole night out, and only came back home when it was extremely early in the morning. It was also his first time to go out all night without telling his family

When he and MC started dating, he made it a rule that they wouldn’t have sex until she graduates from the Academy. Therefore, they made love for the first time two years later after becoming a couple

He has learned to work smarter, not harder. Which explains why he is nonchalant about things and won’t put his all into certain activities if they’re not interesting or necessary to him

Absolutely loves dinosaurs. He gets extremely excited when he gets to see or hear things about them

Since being adopted by the Shinonomes, Ayumu always attended elite schools that are affiliated with each other, therefore, he went to elementary, junior and high school with the same school. However, instead of continuing his path by going to the university affiliated with the other schools, he decided to go to T University. He mentions that it's because he got in, and this university is also known for giving students an advantage if they wanted to work for the government

When he was in kindergarten and was still with his mother, Ayumu belonged to the Peach Group in class

Jin Namba

He met his ex wife, Yukiko Kashii, at work. She wanted to divorce him after he became too distant with her. He had stopped paying attention and spending time with her because of his work

The reason he kept his wedding ring on his finger isn’t because he couldn’t forget his ex wife. It’s because he physically couldn’t take the ring off

Likes to eat at a small ramen stall. He has a history with it since it’s where his previous boss took him to eat together when he was younger

Calls the MC his “Little Bird” because she’s young and innocent

Calls himself an old fart because he’s getting older

He has lower back problems and MC massages him to help him sometimes (in his route)

Out of all the PS men, he’s the one who can handle alcohol the best. He loves booze

Is described as very handsome. He uses his looks to his advantage and often jokes about being too handsome

He calls MC “Little Hare” (“Usa-chan” in Japanese)

His mother was supposed to give birth to a second child, who would have been named “Takeru”. Later, Tsugaru became friends with Momose, whose first name is Takeru. It might explain why Tsugaru is fond of him and somehow views him as a little brother

He worked hard in high school to enter the best university in the country, and then join the Public Safety Division because he wanted to be useful to Shirogane

Kaga thought that Tsugaru could probably match Namba’s level when it came to drinking without getting drunk. He can handle alcohol very well like him

He used to be a troublemaker at school and Shirogane often had to apologize for his behavior, which made Tsugaru guilty because of everything Shirogane does for him

Takeru Momose

Is extremely loyal to Tsugaru, to the point everyone calls him his faithful dog

He has a great sense of smell, which makes him even more similar to dogs and very helpful during cases

He and MC bicker a lot and Momose has a habit of kicking her chair and clicking his tongue when she annoys him

Has a girlfriend he seems to be serious about. She often cooks his bentos and Tsugaru implied she might be his Miss Right as he thought they would probably marry in the future

Toru Kurosawa

Is a troublemaker and everyone has already felt like punching him a few times in their life because of how energetic, nosy and bubbly he can be

Is surprisingly close to Ayumu as they sometimes go to group dates organized by Kurosawa, even if Ayumu is still exasperated with him. They’re also on a first-name basis
