Gold and Garnet Cannetille Parure
Tumblr media
"This ornate, finely detailed high-carat gold and garnet cannetille parure, circa 1840, is fit for royalty. The old-world craftsmanship and goldsmithing is breathtaking, and the condition of the parure, presented in its original fitted box, is highly desirable for any serious antique collector. The set, sold by Keyamour, includes a large hair ornament, a pair of matching bracelets, a pair of earrings, a necklace and a pendant that can be worn as a brooch. The oval and pear-shaped garnets are foil-backed and accented by small seed pearls. The bracelets are made of handmade mesh links that centre around a clasp. The ear pendants are back to front in closure and convertible day to night. Although there are no marks on the suite, the set is likely from Spain."

Pearl and Malachite Cameo Parure
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Empress Josephine’s (supposed) gold, pearl and malachite cameo parure attributed to Nitot & Fils, now Chaumet, and made around 1810.
"This ensemble of two necklaces, a pair of bracelets, a diadem, a brooch, a pendant and six pins, attributed to jewellers Marie-Étienne Nitot and François-Régnault Nitot (father and son), is decorated with cameos in malachite, natural pearls, yellow gold and tortoiseshell. All except three of the cameos have antique-style figures on them, female or male profiles. The two necklaces and the brooch, on the other hand, bear heads shown face forwards, that on the brooch being possibly a portrait of Josephine." - Napoleon.org

Tips for a low-maintenance garden
Good for beginner gardeners or those who don’t have much time!
Plant wildflowers/plants native to your area (easy to keep alive and attracts pollinators!)
Weeding is easiest when the ground is damp
If you boil veggies, use the leftover (cooled) water to water your potted plants
Grow herbs and/or fast-growing plants in pots
Grow delicate plants/plants that won’t do well in your climate indoors
Research! Some plants are much easier to take care of than others
(For the love of everything good in this world, be careful with roses)
Focus on one project/plant/bed/etc at a time
Find a friend/neighbor/roommate/etc to share the garden with and lighten the load
Buy starter plants/flowers instead of seeds
OR, if you use seeds, start indoors
Eggshells make great food for plants!
Plant natural pest repellents (marigolds, garlic and chives, etc)
Mulch can be really helpful if you have the time/resources to put it down
Record what you do- it’ll save you headaches in the future when you forget what you did that worked (or didn’t work)
Feel free to add on if I missed anything!
