What medical evidence do you have that suggests that, long-term, there are no actual negative health effects of being obese? And I mean actual studies, you know, with the labs, not an opinionated book.
I thought I would answer this question publicly, since I know many of you are probably dealing with this same âquestionâ in your own lives.
This isnât a real question. Itâs an invitation to enter a never-ending rabbit hole of this personâs own making, where they constantly change the rules of the game and move the goal posts and try to run me around in circles until I give up.Â
Itâs classic derailing. Â I donât have time for that, and neither do you.Â
What I suggest, if you are dealing with this tactic in your own life, is to give the person a few phrases they can google-Â âFat acceptance 101âł is a good one.
You can also suggest specific resources.Â
Dances with Fat has an FAQ that deals with this extensively.Â
Shakesville does a series called Fatsronauts that deals with a lot of intro level topics.Â
This blog post by Kate Harding called, âBut donât you realize fat is unhealthy?â has tons of links to all the studies you could hope to read.  Even ones with, you know⌠the labs.
Also by the Fat Nutritionist- âA little 101- I get to existâ, which I feel like really gets to the heart of the matter, so far as Iâm concerned.
The point is, you do not- by yourself- have to reinvent the wheel. Â Many great writers have already taken on these questions and have done the research to hunt down links and to think through and make compelling arguments.
You should always feel free to point people in that direction. And if they are serious and genuine in their questions- they will take the time to do all the reading that I (and many others) have spent our time on. Â
I believe that these resources will answer most of their questions.
If they arenât willing to do that? Then I donât find their questions to be serious and I feel free to ignore them. You should too. Â
Finding good lesbian media isnât easy, finding lesbian media with a happy ending is even less likely, but this isnât the time for ranting, this is me suggesting (and advising against) lesbian movies.
PARIAH (2011)
This is one of my favourite movies ever, not just lesbian-wise. Itâs tells the story of teenager, Alike, a black lesbian coming to terms with her sexuality and her gender nonconformity as well as dealing with the responses of the people around her including her conservative parents, her supporting best friend and of course an unrequited love interest or two. Itâs not a sad movie, although itâs not a âhappyâ movie either in the traditional sense, but itâs one I canât reccomend highly enough.
IMDB
RAFIKI (2018)
Another personal favourite of mine. This tells the story of the daughters of opposing Kenyan politicians and their budding relationship in a conservative town, as well as the pressure they face from their families to be âgood Kenyan girlsâ and marry into wealth instead of pursuing their dreams of studying.
Once again, not a happy movie, not a sad movie. My only fault with this was that it doesnât go for long at all and because of that the story and therefore the relationship feels slightly rushed, but honestly we can say that about 90% of heterosexual movies so itâs not really anything to give a hard pass about. This was pretty hard for me to get my hands on so if you plan on pirating it just know not the entire movie is in English so make sure to find a copy with English subtitles for the parts that are in what I believe is Swahili.
IMDB
BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOUR (2014
If the last known copy of this movie was on fire and I had a class of water, Iâd drink the water.
BOUND (1996)
Where is my remake of this!!! Ahhhh. Hot ex-con butch and pretty-as-poison femme team up to pull off a heist from the mob. What else do you need to know? Okay but honestly, this movie is amazing and steamy as hell. Probably donât watch it with your parents though ;)
IMDB
PRIDE (2014)
God, this movie!! Ugh, itâs one of my favourites and itâs just perfect. Itâs based on the true story of the group âLesbians & Gays Support The Minersâ in Wales and while itâs not specifically a lesbian romance movie, it does have kickass lesbian Steph who is pictured in the gif above. Itâs a super wholesome, uplifting movie and honestly I couldnât reccomend it highly enough. Iâve seen it so many times and the end scene still gives me goosebumps.
IMDB
THE HANDMAIDEN (2016)
This one has always been a bit of a hit and miss for me just because of some of the sexualâŚthemes, maybe is the word? If you watch this just know there are some disturbing sexual themes a few times and it can be a bit ehh for some people. Apart from that, cinematography wise, this movie is beautiful and I really do like it.
Itâs about Sook-Hee, a lower-class girl being used as a pawn to try and con a wealthy Japanese heiress, Lady Hideko, out of her wealth and how they deal with the treachery of each other and the men around them.
IMDB
THE MISEDUCATION OF CAMERON POST (2018)
This movie is like a more serious and somehow nearly weirder version of But Iâm A Cheerleader. It follows the story of Cameron, a teenage girl caught by her boyfriend having sex with a girl and is then sent away to a conversion camp where she meets Jane, another lesbian, and Adam, a âTwo-Spirit,â or âWinkteâ in Lakota.
It shows the effects of conversion therapy on teenagers and also the disillusion Cameron had about the girl she thought she was in love with, and the tentative but deep friendship she builds with Adam and Jane.
Not one of my absolute favourites, but still an enjoyable movie.
IMDB
THE GIRL KING (2015)
This is the kind of âtrue storyâ about Queen/King Kristina of Sweden and her rise to power, her rule, and the believed lesbian affairs she was said to have. As I said, itâs historical accuracies have been argued about, so while youâre not going to watch this to pass your history class, itâs still a good watch and the costumes are gorgeous.
IMDB
Thatâs all I have for now, thereâs obviously other lesbian movies out there like The Favourite, Disobediance, Tell It To The Bees, Room In Rome, Imagine Me & You, ect. These are movies I havenât seen so not too sure about them, sorry/.
actually sleeping with someone is so nice like waking up in the middle of the night and snuggling closer or lazily giving them a kiss or just feeling their arms around you squeeze slightly even though theyâre in a deep sleep or handholding while you both are asleep ugh
thatâs that shit I like
THE 16 PERSONALITY TEST is generally based on the personality indicator developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers. Their development of the test occurred in the 1940s and was built upon psychological research performed by Carl Jung in the 1920s. The type test is based on a series of questions that gather information on how a person usually responds or relates to various situations.
The answers to these questions are calculated to determine the personâs individual personality type. Important insights can be gained by understanding personality type, such as optimal career choice, better romantic partnerships, and paths to personal growth.
Personality Types: Tests that sort people into 16 different types which are organized by four pairs of opposite traits.Â
These pairs are:
Extraversion (E) and Introversion (I)
Sensing (S) and Intuition (N)
Thinking (T) and Feeling (F)
Judging (J) and Perceiving (P)
One of each pair is combined to create a 4-letter abbreviation for each personality type, such as:
These personality traits are grouped into four categories that describe the way in which a person interacts with the world. Everyone experiences both traits in each pair, but usually one is more dominant than the other in the 16 personality test.
Extraversion (E)
Extroverts are energized when in the company of other people, unlike Introverts who are usually reserved, quiet, and prefer to be by themselves. Extroverts like speaking their minds and thrive in social situations. They are usually popular and well-liked by other people. Extroverts may feel down and become drained if theyâre not in the company of others for too long.
Introversion (I)
Introverted people are quiet, reserved, and more comfortable being alone than an Extroverted person. Introverts prefer to rely on themselves for entertainment rather than seeking interaction or stimulation from others. They are usually self-sufficient and would rather work alone than in a group. Socializing drains an Introvertâs energy, and they need alone time to recharge. Because of this they put less emphasis on socializing and social skills than an extrovert would.
Sensing (S)
Sensing individuals place great emphasis on what they see, touch and experience in the real world, unlike Intuitive people who would rather live in their imaginations. Prioritizing facts and practicality, those with a Sensing character are outward-looking and prefer not to deal with philosophical ideas or introspective ponderings. They would rather focus on what they can concretely experience with their senses.
Intuition (N)
Intuitive individuals put emphasis on imagination and ideas, rather than what is actually in front of them. They tend to prioritize introspection and dreaming, and oftentimes feel like they do not belong or live in the real world. Unlike Sensing individuals, who enjoy seeing, touching and experiencing the world, intuitive people are inward-focused and prefer living in their own heads. While Sensing people like facts and practicality, Intuitive individuals tend to lean towards allusions, read between the lines, and analyze things at greater depth.
Thinking (T)
Thinking individuals are objective, rational, and logical. Their decisions and actions are usually governed more by their minds than by their hearts. Many people often judge Thinking people as lacking emotion, but that is not true. They can be just as emotional and sensitive as the Feeling group, but feelings are not their main priority, and they can hide their emotions or prevent them from coming to the surface. They prioritize facts over feelings.
Feeling (F)
Individuals with the Feeling trait care more about emotions and expressing them than what is deemed rational or logical. However, this does not mean that Feeling types are irrational; it only means that those with this trait are more likely to express their emotions, as compared to Thinking individuals who prefer to suppress their emotions. Those who focus on feelings and expressions of emotion tend to be more open-minded, vocal, empathetic, and sensitive.
Judging (J)
Those with the Judging trait tend to strategize and plan before they act. Theyâd prefer a thought-out plan over going with the flow. They are organized, reliable, responsible, and have very good work ethics. They are always prepared, armed with checklists and contingency plans. They are likely to commit to future plans, but may forget to live in the present.
Perceiving (P)
People who have the Perceiving trait rather than the Judging trait value their sense of freedom. They do not want to be tied down to a specific activity or commitment if they think there is something better that is worthy of their time. They are excellent in spotting new opportunities, and they grab them whenever they can. They are good with improvisation, even in emergency situations. They take life as it comes and feel stifled if forced to stick to a schedule.
More than the Sum of Its Parts
Each whole personality type is more than the sum of its traits. In addition to each of the four main traits of each profile, further personality insights from the personality test emerge when the combination of those traits are taken into consideration.
For example, a person with the combination of Thinking (T) and Intuition (N) will behave differently than someone with the traits of Thinking (T) and Sensing (S). The combination of Thinking and Intuition reflects someone who is often in their head, thinking about all the different possible circumstances or even fantastic ideas. But someone with the Thinking and Sensing traits, who may also be often lost in their own thoughts, will be relying on their senses instead of their intuition, and their ponderings will be rooted in the current state of reality.
Test your personality and discover more about yourself.Â
For those of you lying on your resumes about being proficient in Microsoft Office, time to actually get those skills. Jobs exams are becoming more popular. Companies are testing you to make sure you actually know your shit.
why is it not more wellknown that women can have an actual literal disorder that not rarely makes them literally suicidal for up to 10 days every month before their period lmao like⌠teach this in class? itâs not a joke?
