Until now, I am still puzzled by the hand-woven sash called Sablay. Ironically, this represents the dream every Isko wants to achieve. However, my five years in the University was not perfect and filled with sablay moments. There were bumps, setbacks, crossroads - you name it.  Still, there were people who supported my dream and kept their faith with me. And this is the perfect opportunity to start expressing gratitude.
I’m really sorry for all the times na hindi ako makasama sa lakad o nakakalimutan kong bumati/dumalaw tuwing may okasyon. I hope to catch up soon!
Natutunan ko rin na may ‘second chances’, however, to get them were not easy. Thank you, mga Ma’am at Sir (pati na rin sa mga lab tech), for the worthwhile discussions and life lessons you all shared with me. I will never forget them.
PAFT-Alpha, nasabi ko naman lahat during last FR/Semender but I believe it is never enough to say thank you to my second family for five years. The Tambayan will always be my ‘favorite place’ in UP. Thank you for honing me to the person I am today, as well as giving me the opportunity to serve by being your VP Exte. And I will cherish all the memories being an Alphan forever. I LOVE PAFT-ALPHA!
To the clinigiest barkada in the whole Alonso Hall-Gusali 2 area (you know who you are): UP life would not be as fun without you. We’ve all seen each other grow, fail, succeed, fall in love - lahat na. I believe this will be the start of a new chapter of our friendship. Sana hindi mag-fade ‘yung pagiging the ‘pinakamabait’ batch natin (but let’s be more adventurous!). I’m really excited to see our ‘real world’ selves be clingy! Mahal ko kayo to infinity!
To Lex a.k.a. Beast(friend), here’s your cheesy message: thank you for being my main man even before our Isko days. Starting from my freshie jeje days until naging mukha na ako ng org, you’ve been a confidante, program adviser, guidance counselor, tutor, stressball, fan, idol, trend follower, and most especially, a brother. You never sugarcoated hard truths ‘pag kailangan but you also pumped up praises whenever I achieve something. I’m amazed that even though we do not see each other every day, we seem to know how to catch up faster than you can say Main Lib. I hope we always have this special connection kahit na malayo na ako sa Diliman. Hart hart, Beast!
To family, Iet me first say na mahal na mahal ko kayo.
You never failed to cheer me up and samahan ako during all-nighters even when you’re dead tired. You always understood my situation and I’m very lucky for that. My sun and stars, thank you for everything this past year and more happy days ahead!
June 2015 Graduates, let us not forget to be Iskolar para sa bayan sa pagsabak natin sa mas malaking mundo.
Lastly, all these would not exist without the Divine Providence. I remember that I prayed (inside the jeep) na sana maka-transfer ako if this is the way I can learn more and serve better for the people. Now, I hope I may fulfill that promise and do greater service in Your name.
This is it. <3

What’s going on
I do not what I’m doing right now. Two weeks of frustration. Two weeks of excitement. Two weeks of being housebound have created an anxiety monster that keeps telling me things. Things that I want to do. Things that make me cry. Things that doe not make sense. I am worried about the future. I am the brink of really turning into the person I aspire to become. But I am scared. Outside, I may seem confident and composed. But I fear that all that  can be destroyed by just one single mistake. I do not what I’m saying right now. I’m just scared. I said hey... what’s going on?

Much has been said about K-12 and how it can change Filipino lives forever. Still, misconceptions abound, endangering the very future of the country. About time they’re rounded up and finally put to rest.
1. It’s a financial burden.

Heartache of a different kind.
Sometimes I don't know if I'm the cause of my friends' problems. For the past couple of weeks, they seem to have certain issues about me. Or against me. Or something related to me. And it really frustrates me that I am the cause. Implicit or not. Maybe it's just a phase. Or caused by stress. But one thing is certain: I love them. Even if they cause me heartache at times.

Mist before the storm
In the next four weeks, I will be entering my last semester of my college life. I know that most people say that things will get harder when I enter the 'real world' but for now, this is my reality: I will either graduate on time or not.
And for me, the holiday season constantly remind me of this fact. Relatives ask what would be my work. Parents are more eager to know what would be my state after graduation.
I hope I survive this to my expectations. So help me God.

UCSF’s Dr. Robert Lustig was recently on the Colbert Report to debunk some common nutrition dogma: A calorie is a calorie (and it doesn’t matter if those calories come from carrots or cheesecake).
Here are just four examples that refute this idea (from Dr. Lustig’s article in the Huffington Post):
Fiber. You eat 160 calories in almonds, but you absorb only 130. The fiber in the almonds delays absorption of calories into the bloodstream, delivering those calories to the bacteria in your intestine, which chew them up. Because a calorie is not a calorie.
Protein. When it comes to food, you have to put energy in to get energy out. You have to put twice as much energy in to metabolize protein as you do carbohydrate; this is called the thermic effect of food. So protein wastes more energy in its processing. Plus protein reduces hunger better than carbohydrate. Because a calorie is not a calorie.
Fat. All fats release nine calories per gram when burned. But omega-3 fats are heart-healthy and will save your life, while trans fats clog your arteries, leading to a heart attack. Because a calorie is not a calorie.
Sugar. This is the “big kahuna” of the “big lie.” Sugar is not one chemical. It’s two. Glucose is the energy of life. Every cell in every organism on the planet can burn glucose for energy. Glucose is mildly sweet, but not very interesting (think molasses). Fructose is an entirely different animal. Fructose is very sweet, the molecule we seek. Both burn at four calories per gram. If fructose were just like glucose, then sugar or high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) would be just like starch. But fructose is not glucose. Because a calorie is not a calorie.
